Living Seas and Land to combine?

I think Disney recognized a good while back how lame Epcot really was. Don't get me wrong I'll take back some of the old rides any day like Horizons and Journey Into Imagination, but when Disney noticed the changes in theme park entertainment they realized a park like Epcot couldn't compete. With the opening of Islands of Adventure where there are more rides geared towards the younger generation who have become incredibly interested lately in the extreme. Skateboarding, snowboarding, biking, etc all that extreme sports closely relates to many of the thrill rides, it all focuses on an adrenaline rush. There was NO adrenaline rush at Epcot until the opening of Test Track which has proved this point. TT is one of the most popular attractions not just in Epcot but in all of WDW. Disney hopefully understands where this industry is heading and is hopefully making the correct changes to the attractions but still holding true to their purpose. The new Epcot rides should include both excitement and knowledge, when guests leave the attractions they will be ready to ride again and hopefully have learned something from the experience. Both the Land and the Living Seas are somewhat of a bore, and hopefully with some improvements will prove to be more thrilling.

Anyone agree?

The Living Seas may close down for some kind of rehab in Spring 2002. There are loose plans to "expand" the Living Seas. No one seems to know much more than that at this point, but the entire Pre-Show, Hydrolator, and SeaCab sequences could be replaced in the process.

You mean...no more "And they rain.......and rain.......and rain....the deluge..."? That's my favorite part, lol!;)

To add a bit of nostalgic flavor, here is a rumor from over a year and a half ago.

And the rumor still holds today as a possible concept for Project: Gemini!

Epcot compete with IofA?

I HOPE NOT. There are many, many people that don't go on vacation for an "adrenaline rush". I hate TT and all rides that are like it. If vacationers from around the world want that "amusement park" feel they can go to I of A. Epcot should stay themed the way it is but update what it's got. I think the combining in some way of the Land and LS would be good. I also think that they should not be attached to each other. I'm still dealing with the possibility of closing and changing SE. After what they did as an "improvement" to JIA it makes me worry...and I too would like Horizons back.
