So what do you think will make more money? Live action Snow White or Live action Moana. Also will there be a live action Moana 2? Maybe they can sell them on duel blu-ray packs. You can watch the animated or live action version of the same movie. Maybe switch between them on demand. Split screen them?

I think Moana being a hit is as safe a bet as you can make, I also think it’s a fairly safe bet SW is going to struggle to even break even. Not even a question to me which one’s going to make more, I think Moana will double, or possibly even triple, the SW box office

Who's Gutfeld?

The highest rated late night talk show in America. What Johnny Carson was to the 1970's and 80's, Gutfeld is to the 2020's.

If true, it’s as misleading as when they say a right leaning “news”/entertainment station has higher ratings. That’s because the entire rest of the audience is split between several options.

If Gutfeld is making fun of Rachel Zegler and the upcoming Snow White movie, that's not good news for audience demographics.

To be accurate, Gutfeld has more Democrats watching him than watch left-identified shows like Disney-ABC's Kimmel.

And to be accurate to Fox News, their very high ratings outpace all the other cable news stations combined. That was true even before the post-election collapse in ratings for CNN and MSNBC. The latest Nielsen ratings per network;

Primetime 8-11pm Weekdays Current Viewership
Fox News = 3.0 Million total viewers, 501,000 in the 25-54 age demo
MSNBC = 684,000 total viewers, 67,000 in the 25-54 age demo
CNN = 464,000 total viewers, 120,000 in the 25-54 age demo

So, even when you combine both MSNBC and CNN's viewership in weeknight primetime, it's still less than half of Fox News.

Fox News = 3.0 Million total viewers, 501,000 in the 25-54 age demo
MSNBC+CNN = 1.148 Million total viewers, 187,000 in the 25-54 age demo

Last week's ratings "in the demo" of viewers under age 55 that advertisers chase after was another example of how multiple news networks combined can't even reach half of the Fox viewership. It's just a blowout.

Which is probably why CNN is about to lay off hundreds of staffers and on-air talent, and MSNBC is being auctioned off to the highest bidder by Comcast. Both those networks have lost huge amounts of money and viewers the past few years.

What is it the kids say now? Go Woke, Go Broke. 🤔

I personally think that any channel that masquerades as news but is merely a political mouthpiece should be avoided, regardless of which side of the ideological spectrum it falls on. There are far higher-quality sources of information and entertainment out there.

The discussion on Gutfeld and Fox's giant ratings were brought up because some here were being factually incorrect; stating that the ratings of CNN and MSNBC somehow equaled Fox News' ratings, when the reality is that Fox beats both of them combined by a mile.

Similarly, the ratings for Gutfeld put him as the highest rated late night talk show in the country. And he also beats everyone in the prime 25 to 54 age range, the exact demo of parents that would buy tickets to a Disney movie for their kids. So that's not a show you want to have dissing your latest mega-budget tentpole movie before it opens in theaters.

The problem here beyond that Snow White angle is that there is no Johnny Carson any more. Carson was a California liberal, I'm sure, but you never knew it. I was a huge fan of Letterman in the 80's, and he is very liberal, but back then he never did political humor. He just did funny humor that everyone could laugh along with. Larry Bud Melman at the Port Authority bus terminal with a tray of hot towels was American Comedy Gold. I long for a return to the likes of Carson and Letterman, but for now Gutfeld and his guests can be very entertaining.

Fast forward to today, and you've got Disney's own Jimmy Kimmel going on national television the day after the election and crying to the cameras. Seriously? I found that to be hysterically funny in a pathetic sort of way, but I'm sure comedy wasn't Mr. Kimmel's intention with that segment. 🤣

I’ve seen the video of Kimmy Jimmel several times, and it just cracks me up every single time…!!!!! :hilarious:
A grown-a$$ man (the host of a supposed “comedy” show, no less ) crying on national TV over a presidential election, and going on a psycho rant like that…?!?!?!
Carson would have made his audience laugh, and been having a ton of fun with it…!!! :)
I really wonder how much more Xanax than usual Hollywood alone has gone through in the last two weeks…?!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:
I didn’t come even remotely close to being that pathetically distraught when my guy lost last time.
I remember being disappointed and thinking “We’ll get ‘em next time…!” and going to bed.
I got up the next morning, after a good nights sleep, and the world hadn’t ended.
I had a design deadline to meet at the office, which I met.
Rinse and repeat.
The end isn’t near, as it wasn’t when the guy that won this time was also already in the office for four previous years.
Get a grip, Kimmy.

That was so over the top and ridiculous. It’s like they re competing with themselves. Whoever can appear that they are the most distraught is the most enlightened. We see right through your BS. What a joke. Lol

Gutfeld Is not a news show and there are no sources of information that are not slanted in either direction. Each picks the base they want to cater to and does just that.

And they all sell ad time to the pharmaceutical companies.

In my opinion.

Gutfeld Is not a news show
I know. I was talking about the channel as a whole (and others like it). A proper news channel—and they are out there—should stick to its mission and show the news as objectively as possible.

there are no sources of information that are not slanted in either direction. Each picks the base they want to cater to and does just that.
Absolute objectivity is indeed impossible, but some sources are demonstrably and measurably more biased than others.

Indeed…!!!
Oprah even suggested in one of the last rallies for the empty, paper pantsuit, that if the other candidate won, no American would ever be able to cast another ballot again.
If anyone has only half a functional brain, they saw through that BS.
I don’t even know how Oprah even has any credibility anymore…?!
Funny thing is, she had the other candidate on her show several times over the years, but as soon as he jumped into politics as an R, it was over.
How shallow.
