We do have a good idea of her vocabulary and phrasing by now... enough that it doesn't seem plausible for her to have composed it.
Do you think this is new? They’ve all had publicists since forever for a reason.
She should have control-alt-deleted her social media accounts long ago.
Nah. For what?

To many people, she hasn’t said a single offensive thing.

To her, she doesn’t seem to care if she offends certain people.

To me, I also don’t care if she offends people who are offended by the existence of a Latina Snow White. I think those people deserve to be offended.
Do you think that the Hollywood of old was populated by angels?

Actors aren’t role models to be put on a pedestal. They’re just doing a job—albeit a highly specialised and lucrative one. They can only occupy as much of your attention as you’re willing to give them. Some people here would benefit from simply ignoring Zegler.
Most of them never would have heard about this, but for certain media outlets, elevating and instigating.

I don’t think I have seen this woman in any movies yet. I have no opinion of her talent. I certainly don’t have a lesser opinion of her because of anything I’ve heard she said about the old Snow White or about politics. She is fine with me so far.

As with the little mermaid, I probably would’ve had little interest in a princess movie, but the controversy has made me interested. I saw TLM on Disney+, which I normally wouldn’t have done. I may see this one in the theater if it happens to be a date night and there’s nothing better to watch.

So the media outlets elevating these stories (which end up on this site) are getting me to watch the films out of curiosity.

If only you held your elected officials to the same impeccable standard.

You guys have your priorities all wrong. You are unable to get over the social-media posts of a young actress—posts she apologised for—yet think nothing of voting for a man who falsely and repeatedly accuses immigrants of eating pets (which actually is hate speech by some legal definitions).

I really do despair.
Oh good lord is that starting again?

Let’s not respond to the gaslighting.

I'm sure through self-reflection, she had a legitimate change of heart and issued her apology sincerely and completely on her own volition. Certainly, neither Disney's PR department nor her publicist influenced her in any shape or form. Just like she whole-heartedly changed her opinion on the original Snow White film in that completely unscripted, candid and spontaneous discussion she had with Halle Bailey. Disney certainly wasn't in damage control mode with that absolutely authentic, not-at-all pre-vetted conversation.
I’m sure it was coerced and at least co-written by someone else, and there’s nothing new under the sun for decades.

It has nothing to do with political leaders, really.

A plumber I hire shouldn't lecture me about my personal opinions, because they are just a plumber. A cruise ship purser shouldn't lecture me about my personal opinions, because they are just a purser. A shoe salesman at Nordstrom shouldn't lecture me about my personal opinions, because they are just a shoe salesman. My dentist is fabulously talented, but she doesn't get to lecture me about my personal opinions because she is just a dentist. Etc., etc.

Similarly, an actress shouldn't lecture me about my personal opinions because they are just an actress. Stick to your job pretending to be other people for money, and don't lecture your customers. :)

Disney has a new problem on its hands with this movie, all over again. The one thread of continuity in the past several years of problems for this one movie seems to be.... Rachel Zegler. I can't imagine Disney will seek out a future project with her once Snow White is finally, mercifully, put into the history books and sent to the $5 DVD bin at WalMart.
It's a shame because I do think Zegler is a terrific actress and singer and can perfectly embody the role of Snow White. She was great in West Side story. But from a PR perspective, I just think she's too much of a loose cannon for a movie designed to earn a billion dollars.

I do think there is a path forward for Zegler if she pivots to smaller budget films that are less focused on earning millions, and more toward garnering Oscar nominations. Or, she could maybe find a TV show that's more directly aimed at the type of Gen Z audience that likes what she has to say on social media. If Zegler wants to be true to herself and speak her mind, that's her choice. But she'll have to reexamine the types of roles and career she wants to have.

I’m they do why is Rachel still employed?
Rachel is not employed by the Disney company. She already shot the movie! Her work is done. You can't fire someone who isn't employed. Carano was part of an ongoing movie series, so it made sense for Disney to state that she wouldn't be coming back.

I imagine Disney won't hire her in the future, but the last thing Disney wants to do by releasing a statement is to generate even more bad press for a film they've already spent $269 million on.

She’s on Broadway now, correct?

My prediction is that none of this political drama will have an impact on her career.

Okay, that's legitimately hilarious. 🤣

Wonder if we will see Zegler and Gadot throwing shade at each other on the press tour.
Can you explain this to me. I don’t follow Stars or really know how Twitter works.

All I see is a picture of some women standing next to each other at what appears to me to be a movie premier ?
