Mr Flibble is Very Cross.
If you are going to have Snow White look like this:

then you should have her seven companions look something like this:

Either make a blatant copy remake and stick with it or do something totally new. Doing something halfway satisfies no one.

Wait! Snow White has a cell phone? I got a bad feeling about this.

all jokes aside, i’ll wait for any kind of trailer that comes out in the next few months to have a better opinion vs a photo leak. i’ll admit the photo doesn’t give me good vibes, but we’ll see
We expected to see the full glimpse of the characters when the movie gets a trailer either before or during Destination D23 this September.

Now that all these negative details have surfaced Disney has a very real opportunity to correct the issues, improve the story line and improve the quality of the product. However, the track record is that Disney will double down on their foolishness and then blame the audience.
What you just described is - allegedly - what happened with the Splash to TBA retheme.

Why can't they, I dunno, just get it right the first time instead of being shamed into it?

At least we won't have this to deal with.

that's my biggest gripe with these remakes. Either do something different or do a carbon copy of the original, not both. Why are some characters in these stories dead on point and then another character looks absolutely nothing like what they were based off. Pick. A. Lane!

This is what they do, they replicate stuff they want and change things as they wish.

In my mind, when you change characters, and plot enough, it becomes a new, different movie you can call inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

I think this movie has crossed the line and should have a different title, inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Calling this Snow White seems forced to me and confuses the causal movie goer.

That doesn’t work as a movie title.

Moreover, by this standard, Disney should have called all its original classics Inspired by Aladdin, Inspired by the Little Mermaid, etc., since they are all very loose adaptations of older stories that people had long been accustomed to.

Agreed. Snow White does not work, and all should have been considered inspired by.

While I wouldn't use the term inspired by in the title. Naming it something different does in fact work. Look at tangled. It's their take on the original source material but it's not called Rapunzel. Now granted some of the reason they did it was because they thought the name Rapunzel would be to princess and scare off the boys. But in the end it worked.

Agreed, I never said inspired by should be in the title, but this new move should have its own title and when it’s marketed, it could be said to be inspired by the original.

I don’t disagree, but that doesn’t have anything to do with my point, which is that audiences are perfectly capable of juggling different interpretations of well-known stories that share the same title.

It’s worth noting in any case that the remake does have a different title from the animated film: Snow White.
