This is a really wierd question, but here goes:
I am planning on watching some old Disney movies over the next few weeks and I don't know what to do about The Lion King. What order should I watch them in? LK1, LK2, LK1 1/2 OR LK1, LK1 1/2, LK2? I never saw LK1 1/2 but I need to know which order to watch them in!!! Help!

Thanks tigsmom, you're the best!
It just seems a little weird of how they made them in the order that they did. Well, whatever. Thanks again!

Just watch Lion King 1, and 1 1/2. Don't bother with Lion King 2. That's a lousy pile of manure. 11/2 is probably the best direct to video sequal Disney has ever created.

I watched LK2 years ago and don't remember much about it.
But what do you think of like Little Mermaid 2, Huncback of Notre Dame 2, etc.
Personally, I think the worst sequel was Cinderella 2. :hurl: I started watching Hercules: Zero to Hero today, and I had to stop it before I had even watched 15 min. of it! Ugh!

LK 1.5 had a good script and the animation whilst not always top quality is good enough - certainly far better than than the abomination that is Cinderella 2 etc.

I've not seen Mermaid or Hunchback 2, having been put off by Cinderella2, Tarzan and Jane and Pochahontas.

Mulan II was not too bad, but I would not part with money for it - Disney has a nerve to charge the same for it as a full feature.

The only sequal that was any good is: Toy Story 2, and that was a Pixar movie. I have been very disappointed by the emphasis on so many sequals and straight-to-video releases. If a "2" movies comes on tv, i may watch it, or at least flip through it, but i won't buy or rent one.

LK1, LK 1 1/2, LK 2. (Lion King 1 1/2 takes place while Lion King 1 is taking place...it's just from a different perspective.)

I thought Stitch: The Movie was a decent sequel also.
Lion King 1 1/2 is my favorite though.

I would watch them in order of release (1, 2, 1½). Save the best for last.

(1½ is the best thing Disney has made direct-to-video.)

A bold opinion indeed. Most would not agree with you. Let's not forget "Return To Neverland" or the many sequels Walt himself made. I think you've made a serious error in judgment.

Watch either:

1, 1 1/2, 2

or

1, 2, 1 1/2

I find it best to watch 1 1/2 last, even though it technically takes place before 2, but that doesn't matter to me.

You're right Woody, It is a bold statement, but it is one i do feel strongly about. I have been routinely disappointed by the excessive amount energy placed on producing mediocre sequels. In my opinion. Sequels respresent a lack of imagination and creativity. It's also a just a blatant way to turn a quick buck. It would be a diifferent story, if the sequel was an actual continuation of the original storyline.

What Walt did back in the 50's and 60's cannot even be compared to the rapid fire of mediocre straight-to-video movies.
