Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show to permanently close in April 2016

This image (at least from what I could see) always seemed to indicate that LMA was out of the general layout area of both Toy Story Land and Star Wars...

Possible. But maybe having a stunt show with racing cars, jet skis, and explosions may not be practical or safe between two construction zones.

the release said other things in the area of SOA, anyone know for sure if i should be putting the muppets on my schedule in April? or will it be closing with this?

You know what's funny?
It was a crowd eater when shows were running. Line's are going to be pretty awful in the rest of the park for a long time....unless people skip it completely.

ehh...How often did the show run each day? Did it really have much an affect?

Two shows on slow days. Four shows during the holidays. Three on average. I'd guess capacity is around 4,000 or 5,000? So probably about 10,000 guests a day occupied for over an hour or so. Fairly decent, honestly.

So is that really going to change crowds that much as it isn't pulling capacity throughout the entire day to begin with?

I agree. There would have to be an offset. Closing the show means another attraction no longer offered. Less reason to come to the studios or, if you do, only for half a day. So I don't think the crowd impact to the other attractions would be as large.

I assume announcement timing is partly based off of 60 day FP windows, too. People would start piecing it together.

There have also been rumors about shows no longer having a FP option in the future, so I don't know if it's related to that. Honestly it probably has to do with the earlier comment and you can probably see just how much demo is happening backstage from LMA. Wouldn't be shocked if the practice lots and acceleration zones are starting to go as well and they don't want to deal with coming up with a new plan.

I was under the impression that neither Star Wars Land or Toy Story Land would be in this area of the park... So, it raises a lot of questions... would this seem to indicate that plans have changed and now Toy Story Land and/or Star Wars land will occupy this area of the park? Or are they just clearing this area to be used as a staging area for both Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land and will eventually use this area for a Phase III expansion? All the previous rumors were that Indy would be going to make way for Star Wars and I'd be almost shocked to see them close both LMA and Indy before Toy Story Land opens, but I don't think they would delay Star Wars construction until Toy Story Land is finished... lots of questions...

I was also thinking this. One possibility for why LMA is closing is that TSL will take out the practice area.

it was a nice show to see and experience once... after that... not as much. It's amazing how big that stadium is and all the costs that go into it and how relatively young that is will all now be bulldozed for better things...

meanwhile at EPCOT we have way older UoE, WoL, etc...that could use that bulldozer and re-construction as well. Let's hope this is next...

We found LMA to be a great show. Always made the trek back, so will miss it, but anxious for new things to come. We were fortunate to ride the back lot tours their last day, and had an awesome interaction with one of the motorcycle stuntmen waiting for his cue to go in. Had never been that close on the tram before, could've touched him. Super cool!
