At the risk of inviting derision for being a Disney Adult, and without denying that such experiences are primarily intended for kids, I will note that I pay for and enjoy character dining experiences even though I don’t travel with children.
People can enjoy the same experience for different reasons. It’s one of the things I love about WDW.

I get that…

But I invite you to find anyone talking about LL HERE as fitting into that box?
I wouldnt disagree but lets face it. These forums are just a small percent of people who are visiting & not the target audience Disney is looking at for these up charges. Granted they in theory want to target everyone but people who go often and know many of the tricks per say in theory dont need it but probably says hey lets do it once.
This is what i dont get. People have no issues paying absurd prices for Deluxe hotels which lets face it for some possibly many really dont serve much of a purpose yet think spending a couple hundred pp that actually adds value is crazy. If im a couple going i rather stay moderate/value and buy this vs staying deluxe & dealing with lines

I’d say the one times who would be more suited for LL would also be the market to overpay for their rooms…

Those that frequent shouldn’t really be dumping money into port Orleans and buying line skips for Peter Pan…it’s a bad value proposition…

And those that are in the higher tag places are often dvc…and long term…and we’re trained not to pay double for their rides on tower of terror..for the 100th time

You don’t really have to flesh it out this much…it’s understood. No need for full disclosure.

The real “experience” for a breakfast at chef mickeys is typically later that night or the next morning during the witching hour

I got food poisoning from breakfast at the Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Cauldron (I forget which) last year.

Probably karma.

Carry on.
One thing I've often wondered is how do you know which specific meal makes you ill. Unless I'm eating at a hotel restaurant for every meal (doesn't happen), then how would I know for sure which meal or place made me ill. Without being gross, you're always going to bring up your last meal regardless of whichever meal made you ill. I get if you eat at somewhere different to where you normally do that your mind may tell you "It must have been that place that I've not been to before" but it doesn't necessarily mean that it was that place surely?

Most “food poisoning” that people are alluding to will strike you within hours so you absolutely know which meal it was. Those are toxin caused food poisoning. Food poisoning however means “fluids leaking out of every orifice” (nausea, vomiting and diarrhea) with abdominal cramping and pain for hours-a day or two. A round or two of diarrhea and cramping is more likely to be steatorrhea (fat rich stool) caused by you eating too rich a meal that your body wasn’t able to properly digest the fat in it. That’s not poisoning, that’s on you for being too gluttonous at an all you can eat buffet. The life threatening food poisoning (bacterial) can take 1-2 days to set in and last for multiple days.

Minnie showing up at a breakfast IS for 5 year olds. We adults pay for it because we love seeing the joy it brings to 5 year olds.

The pictures, videos and memories from my grandkids’ (ages 5, 3, 3 and 2)
interactions with the characters at Topolino’s are priceless.

And no, I couldn’t care less whether they remember it. I remember their excitement and joy.
We’ve done character meals as a family of adults. And we weren’t the only ones without a child with us either.

So are you now calling me a 5 year old?

I don’t understand what you’re alluding to.
As we are usually on different wavelengths

How is a character breakfast you’ve been to 10 times an “experience”. You’re not “experiencing” anything…it doesn’t fit the definition of the term.

Now I visit one occasionally…and it’s fine. It’s an “indulgence” and that’s perfectly fine. It’s travel…that’s what we all do. We can pick and choose what we want in that basket. I’m not gonna feed the buzzwords that are meant to manipulate.

But it also leads right back to what I said…the products have been packaged and geared to fit a certain mindset…and the one I described at the top is a big piece of that. It is what it is…it’s a tactic by the supplier that feeds the consumer. No need to say “but it’s not that…” and then repeatedly reaffirm that it really is that. The cake is just a cake

Im guessing somewhere up the chain I got the snit on this? If so let me clarify:

They’re not for five year olds…they are fun. If you like that sorta thing…and many do.

The five year old routine is repeating things over and over again in corporate phrasing designed specifically to promote things a “certain” way…

Just be genuine when things are described…not repeat marketing speak.

Now I know it’s my opinion and I don’t expect anyone to agree. Cool. Just a pet peeve that happened like 15 or so years ago…and longer behind the scenes. Before “experiences”…the sales/cross promotion people (cough) had other terms…for awhile they wanted Everything to “fulfill wishes”…everything was a “wish”. Back in Eisner Inc. Princess obsession era…
Thankfully it was strangled to a large extent and never got out “into the wild” 🦁

There is a pain point at which people won’t pay for said service. LLPP just had not got there. I paid $36 for single to go on guards yesterday. Was worth it. I don’t go on a lot of rides so the single does it for me. I used the premier pass once in Epcot, thought it was overpriced @ $175 but I will say reminded me of the old days where you could just go on what you wanted , WHEN you wanted , i didn’t have a set schedule of having to run across the park to make my said time on a ride.
If you’re going for a short stint like a weekend the PP is worth it to people. And I agree I won’t stay in a deluxe for $800 + but will stay in a moderate or the swann for $300 and buy a pass or two.
