Over the years I've had to change plans for hard ticket events and have never had an issue getting a full refund or having the ticket moved to another date, even it was "sold out". Again, the key is to be respectful and polite to the CM you are interfacing with. (Not that you should ever not be respectful and polite to a CM)

If you visit guest services in person or call Disney directly and act like a decent human being towards the CM, anything that is "non-refundable" magically can become refundable.

Decent human being is actually my wife's job, but yes we are always polite to all CMs. Thinking you deserve anything is a sure way not to get it.

Assuming Disney is limiting the LLPP on low capacity rides like Pan, Disney really has 3 strings to pull.

1) Total amount of LLPP sold ($400+ a person)
2) LLMP given out for low-capacity rides at peak times ($40+ per person)
3) Capacity given to standby line on low-capacity rides at peak times ($0 per person extra)

I assume they will limit standby by down to a minimum threshold (10% of pan is only 80 people per hour or 1 every ~7 people every 5 mins). Once the minimum is reached, start limiting the LLMP down to an acceptable minimum (this is easier to change without being noticed by the user base, almost no one would know if 0LLMP for Pan was given out from 1-3pm)

Edit: to add to this, they simply can not have 700LLPP and 200LLMP users all show up at the same time on Peter Pan. Otherwise you get an hour long LL assuming no one from Standby gets on.
I'm sure they have models that say something like 10% of LLPP will show up before 10am and 50% will show up between 1pm or 4pm or something like that.

I can only speak for me and my family.

Personally, i/we find ANYTHING is better than waiting in line. Now there are some very very small exceptions to this, like i don't mind a 5/10min walk though line at Peter Pan, or maybe a couple minutes playing with the books at HM. But other than that, I would rather not be spending my vacation time just waiting around. It lets us go shop, go pin trade, go grab an extra snack. Take time out to find all the chamelons outside the tangled bathroom, and not be worrying about time.

As to is it worth it. Again personally I don't value much more than my time and time with my family. I don't get to take alot of time off and i want to enjoy the time i do. So for me, yes its worth it. they would have to raise the cost to something extremely high, to make it worth it for me to spend potentially 25% of an 8 hour day waiting around in line doing nothing.

I’m sure they have models, but will also likely offer fewer LLMP return times during known busier times.

As they refine their models they can adjust.

Yes, that is #2 on the list of strings disney can pull, but even if you give say 0LLMP between 2-3pm. You still can't have 900LLPP users jump to peter pan after the parade is over.

Absolutely. I was just saying that they won't be able to slow down the rate of LLPP people entering any particular LL queue. I'm sure they are very keen to know LLPP usage.

If someone with LLPP turns up and the CM says “it’s about a 20 minute wait just now” then they can just hit another ride first. Or buy a Mickey Bar.

Very few people would decide to join the queue under those circumstances! And if they do then the wait is on them.

So no one is prevented from joining the line but most would voluntarily delay if given the wait time.

That's fair. I fully admit that as a passholder within driving distance (approximately 3 hours) who has spent closing in on 200 days in the parks in my life and has experienced every attraction that I enjoy dozens or hundreds of times, it isn't remotely worth it TO ME to spend a dime on any line skip at WDW.

If I go to Universal, where I haven't been for 8 or 9 years, I might feel differently because I'll be spending a limited number of days there.

If the price is worth it to you to save the time then, by all means, go ahead and purchase and enjoy!

An extra 2-3 hours is hopping to another park or going to dinner or swimming in the pool. For example, my Saturday on the 2nd was something like this:

It's the same reason why people make ADRs 60 days out, when the majority of TS restaurants can be picked up 2 days out when they drop additional capacity.

I assume you're referring to LL. Same analogy applies to many meals, hotels, snacks and souvenirs at Disney.

I would buy the equivalent, in a heartbeat, if I visited an international park.

My conclusion, LLPP makes sense for some guests. Not AP holders who go multiple times every year

As long as it’s very limited supply…have at it.

But to embrace common sense…there is none if you pay $200+$449 for rides in magic kingdom

It’s not that good…and even though still one of the best parks on the planet…there is still not a “value there”
