Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Yes but I’m a roller coaster nerd, and love the Disney dark rides, I do actually want to ride them when I’m there (I know shocking.). Heck when I’ve been really lucky I’ve done ToT 4 times in a row in 90 minutes, I love overloading my vestibular system. Getting GotG, Frozen, TT, Soarin and Rat done in the first two hours allows me to explore WS at my leisure and do stuff like SSE, Imagination and GFT as well as catch the Marriachi band, and eat around the world. If I didn’t do that blitz I would feel compelled to still attempt to do most of those rides.
If you’re a rollercoaster nerd…you want to meet me in Sandusky?

Or better yet …my home turf…the WOOD

Hershey? Busch gardens? Busch gardens Tampa?

…not Parks where eating is the best component?

I haven’t been back to PA in a long time, last trip to Kennywood was for Phantom Fright Nights the year Skyrocket was new, hoping that Herschunds starts offering chain wide season passes soon. Would be fun to meet someone, unfortunately other than DW and SDC for Christmas my regional park going is over for the year. I need to go back to KW and Hershey soon, it’s just a 2 day drive or a flight to get there for me. Ohio is one day, non Disney Parks I hit this year:
-Dollywood (2 days, 2 days planned for Nov)
-Silver Dollar City (1 day, 2 more planned for Nov)
-Cedar Point (8 days over three trips)
-Holiday World
-Kings Island (2 days)
-Knotts (1 day, one more planned for Haunt)
-Canadas Wonderland (1 day, Alpenfury is amazing and worth the trip, need to reride Veliciocoaster to see if AF bypasses it and makes the top ten)
-Busch Gardens Williamsburg (6 days)

Then there is the trip I have soon to Orlando to activate my Universal AP and do HHN, along with Sea World, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, plus my Dec Universal Trip. Currently have plans for the perennial favorites (CP, KI, BGW, DW, SDC) my “premier AP park” (Universal) and Holiday World, San Antonio/New Braunfels, and a fall and Christmas trip to Williamsburg next year.

As i said. Going to Disney is about the parks. We enjoy rides. We enjoy parades & fireworks. Catching shows ending a night with Fantasmic or whatever Epcot is offering these days lol. Of course walking around WS and all the other parks offer. But yes doing rides are definitely what we enjoy. Disney Springs for a night usually makes its way in the mix but since the last couple of “shorter” trips we skipped.
We all like rides…or I’d say 99.9% of us do. We wouldn’t go to amusement parks if we didn’t. I just lament if the goal posts are being moved this much that “notching” rides is viewed as the purpose of the Disney parks. Not what they were designed for…
But hey…they’ll take it. Because there has never been a more pure, no overhead profit generator than “lightning lane”. So if a lot of what has been speculated - by Len and others - is true…that the customers are being reconditioned to make it about spending only to ride pound…
…then a lot of the appeal will go away…and they will reduce investment in those other things. Why bother building impressive structures and offering good food if the yield is better on ether in the lines?

Yes when doing doing character meals in a hotel we will look around a little for sure take some pics like we always do to see how my daughter has grown from an infant until now. I just never understood sleeping in and spending hours at a pool while at Disney but i also agree everyone vacations differently and can respect that
To this I’d say look at what they built and decide why they built it?

So the last two “gates” opened with damn near nothing in them…or at a minimum not an arsenal of rides…
But Shortly there after…within a mile or so…they built detailed hotels with waterparks in front and giraffes outside?

So why bother to do that It? What’s the goal?

Did Mike have a Brain tumor so he did that stuff? But Bob is so smart because he realizes it’s just about packing meat into lines and Halloween tickets in August?

Guess it’s possible?

You know what I’m gonna say right?

And yes I realize it’s annoying here 😡

….psst…Disney parks are NOT about the rides…a rather smallish slice of the pie.

I think you are self fulfilling that prophecy…why go to places that are really ONLY about rides and then Disney parks? They don’t fall into the same basket. Even if you’re a haunted mansion nut 🤪

Disney Parks are still theme parks, your main activity while at them is riding rides. We aren’t going to come to an agreement, but I will posit that my opinion is by far the majority view (ie rides are important.)
