I feel like I want the Hong Kong system and not the à la carte system used at Disneyland Paris.

How does HKDL's version work?

We just did Paris, and it was super simple, and it seemed to weed out a lot of people, the express lines were barely being used, in my experience, and general wait times were not as insane as a result (ymmv).

It’s not needed, especially with soft attendance right now. You can easily get all rides done in Epcot or AK in one day with time to spare. If you’re buying genie in those parks, I have some swampland to sell ya

Right now, sure, but our last trip was in December when there was benefit

If they keep the multipark pricing the same as it is now and then epcot and AK are lower how is this a bad thing? Now if they raise the multipark pricing then I can see why people would be upset.

So, Genie+ has been hovering between $22 and $27 recently.... think with this change $22 to $27 will still be the low end (and Magic Kingdom will be priced significantly above this range) or will $22 to $27 still be the normal at Magic Kingdom (with exception of the exceptionally busy days) with most of the other parks being priced below this range? My guess is that it will be the former and not the latter...

I think the MK/Multi will be higher but the EP/AK will be lower

So if it would have been $27 under old method, under the new MK/Multi will be $32, DHS will be $28, Epcot will be $22, and AK will be $18

(Just making up #, but directionally I think that is how it will be)

Don't*need* but still some benefit - better to have it than not have it. Our last trip we used it at all parks and found some benefit at all ... But definitely not same level

Definitely much more likely to add it on for AK for $12 just to skip a few lines than if it was $25
My last trip was in May of 2022. Didn't use it or need it at any of the parks, out of principle. We rode everything we wanted to, multiple times.

I feel they should just switch to the Disneyland Paris system. One very expensive option to skip the line at a specific list of attractions for the day, one line skip per attraction, no time slot needed, and then allow some à la carte line skip purchases into the mix for those that just one skip 1 or 2 lines.
They can’t. There’s not enough capacity and the standby lines would be in a chokehold. Defunct land made an amazing video that’s explains the self inflicted wound Fastpass and now genie was designed to “help”.

How does lowering the price of the parks who have somewhat limited capacity help ease with the problem? Imo only more people will now purchase it creating more demand and extremely longer lines

Guess you were a better vacationer than me as we have never gotten in everything we wanted even using FP or G+

They aren’t. It will be higher, and can flex with their dynamic pricing

Well the "problem" (to Disney) is that demand for G+ wasn't strong enough in AK and EP so not selling enough

As for the guest, the "feel" like they didn't get their money's worth at either of those parks more often

Now, many still might not feel worth it, but others will feel better about having paid $15 at AK vs $27

I don't understand this? They already have line skipping, why would switching from the current model to a very expensive, all in model not work? Paris is doing it...

ETA: Or do you mean for the other parks? I could see it only really working at MK and maybe Epcot.

I guess I'm quite literally the only person who likes this?

Before the change, I wouldn't have bought Genie+ at Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Now I will.
This what I think theyre after. So lets say it was $25 no matter what and they sold nothing at epcot and AK. Now they can keep hs and mk at $25 and make the other parks $15-$17 and actually sell alot more. They wind up making more money by lowering the price.
