Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

What happens if you want to upgrade from the one park option to the multi-park?

"Asked if guests who purchased the service for one park could upgrade to a multi-park option after the fact, a Walt Disney World spokesperson informed us that guests could purchase Genie+ for the additional park and visit Guest Services to be refunded the difference between the combined total and the Multi-Park price."

How many are going to do that? Not many. Disney is counting on the majority of guests not visiting guest services and plan on pocketing the difference. What they refund will be a paltry amount compared to the potential refunds not collected.

But my question is, why can' t the app just charge the difference between the one park and the multi-park? Are they saying you're paying for both one park and multi-park in their entirety if you choose to "upgrade" and can only be refunded the difference if you visit guest relations?

I wanna meet the freakin “guests” who they apparently “listened” to asking for this kind of change.

They are asking for this by their actions as people who have park reservations for Epcot and Animal Kingdom are buying G+ at a lower rate than those that have park reservations for AK or DHS or have hoppers

I believe @lentesta noted that they didn’t give them the IT budget for that functionality.

With the bookings pillow soft, don't rule out some Bubble Perks returning from the grave. They won't keep running 40% promos seasonally without some changes that will benefit the consumer.

Is it cheaper to bolt on free Dining, Genie+ with packages or provide airport transfers than to discount rooms $100-400/night?

With bookings pillow-soft they should consider going back to what made them the vacation kingdom - great show, great customer service, and the Disney Difference. All things that have been tossed aside in the name of profits since 2019.

So it never occurred to any of the Disney geniuses people aren't buying it at those parks BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED IT THERE?!
Don't*need* but still some benefit - better to have it than not have it. Our last trip we used it at all parks and found some benefit at all ... But definitely not same level

Definitely much more likely to add it on for AK for $12 just to skip a few lines than if it was $25

It’s not needed, especially with soft attendance right now. You can easily get all rides done in Epcot or AK in one day with time to spare. If you’re buying genie in those parks, I have some swampland to sell ya

Not necessarily, I mean I have used G+ to skip the lines is at the more popular attractions, i.e. thunder mountain, Peter Pan, Pooh, etc.

So, Genie+ has been hovering between $22 and $27 recently.... think with this change $22 to $27 will still be the low end (and Magic Kingdom will be priced significantly above this range) or will $22 to $27 still be the normal at Magic Kingdom (with exception of the exceptionally busy days) with most of the other parks being priced below this range? My guess is that it will be the former and not the latter...

I feel they should just switch to the Disneyland Paris system. One very expensive option to skip the line at a specific list of attractions for the day, one line skip per attraction, no time slot needed, and then allow some Ă  la carte line skip purchases into the mix for those that just one skip 1 or 2 lines.

I feel like I want the Hong Kong system and not the Ă  la carte system used at Disneyland Paris.
