Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

"This latest update means that only Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage will be available as Individual Lightning Lane purchases."

They're getting closer to common sense. Mine Train should come off when TRON opens.

This calls attention to Animal Kingdom needing something new.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not calling you out specifically but using your post as a broad statement.

Disney has succeeded.

"I'd rather Remy and Railway be for purchase."

People are now preferring to pay additional money for attractions that are already included in your park admission price.

Shrug. 😂

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I'd rather Remy and Railway be for purchase. It was so easy to just buy and have it secured.

I haven't been paying attention, are Railway and Remy hard to get a Genie + for?
I feel like Railway and Slinky - would be difficult to get both on same day?

Here is TrillData for DHS yesterday

SDD is hardest to get, then actually ToT (though obviously impacted by one elevator running) and then Falcon and then actually RnRC and then MMRR for next hardest

So MMRR isn't really too bad and honestly any of them you could get with your 2nd after getting SDD first if you wanted

Bigger challenge is at Epcot

No
1 price to get in to wait standby
1 price to get in and wait in shorter lines
Isn't this how basically every other park on earth operates?
its not 1 price its 1 price per ride & honestly you and everyone else needs to STOp comparing and justifying things bc other parks do the same thing... they basically copied maxpass from DL & turned this into an utter nightmare Disney sees attendance numbers noone else does & also does not have the capacity to handle it... people go to other parks for a day or 2 max so they dont mind spending that kind of meney heck even at Uni... WALT Disney World is not that type of vacation and requires min of 5-6 days imo...

Why is it an "utter nightmare"?

It's a price increase. I don't see what's particularly utter-nightmar-y about it.

I've always assumed this was part of a conditioning process to a more comprehensive pay-for-access system. Which is why I'm an advocate for just going all the way. May as well rip the band-aid off and remove all of the mystery and frustration of a half-baked system.

It's going to cost. Yes, that sucks and will be painful for many people. But if we are going to end up there eventually, may as well do it immediately.

Genie + is awful hence the utter nightmare comment especially when comparing to FP+ just my experience with it and seem to be others as well.... have you used it yet? Did you like it? & for Disney to look to change it and keep money on the table with the lineup change and now extending it shows you they know they have a problem.

I prefer pre-planning so I liked FastPass+, but I much prefer Genie+ to paper FastPass and I'm definitely not on the train of "only standby lines for everything."

ILL was only ever going to make sense for the brand new sexy rides. Rise, Rat for a bit, Guardians, Tron. It was never going to be sustainable to leave stuff like Space Mountain on there. Nobody was ever going to pay for that.

I agree with you on what people are going to be willing to pay for actually suggested if they were smart increase price or Genie include every ride except the new ones defined as i dk maybe a year or so old and call it a day. Opens up inventory brings in most likely more money and makes people happier…

No offense to you but to compare this to paper fp is waste bc fp+ was the system it replaced. Should we compare it to full standby of the 70’s, 80’s and early 90s next?

Again. Paid FP+ was imo the route theu should have went and felt the only or main reason was they felt it would have created backlash and bad pr for charging money now for something that was free which initially it would have but as we see people would have paid and everyone would have moved on like they have w parking fees, removal of ME, EMH for ALL resort guests, the reduction of early EMH removal if night parades. The list is endless as we know.

Staying at Beach Club...do you know does Remy open with all the other rides for early entry?
Perhaps will have to mow people down at 30 minute early entry from International Gateway! :D
Yes it does…and I actually tried that coming from boardwalk.

And yet “somehow”…as always…probably 100 people ahead of us at the gateway translated into a 95 minute wait on a Monday in June by the time I made the hairpin and crossed the bridge.

The 30 minute thing is a joke…when we exited the line was probable 45 minutes?

Better off waiting
