My family is seriously considering this :(. The great news? We hit break-even quite some time ago. If we just let WDW forclose for non payment of dues? It could work.

May as well sell the contract on the resale market rather than letting Disney get it for just the cost of your dues. Even if Disney exercises their right of first refusal you still get paid the same.

We have gotten the money back and a lot more…but I would never default on dues…better to just go through a broker and sell it for “lowest acceptable”

that also sticks it to Disney…because the old guard are just more valuable than the new guard based on “training”

like Star Wars fans 👍🏻

Is there a lot of scuttlebutt regarding people dumping DVC? Hadn't heard that. No skin in the game... I just know that, until we see more pro-guest actions by Disney, we'll be sitting on the sidelines.

My general sense is that DVC are still trying to “get back” due to the lost year/year and a half. Or selling it to others as rentals

the beauty for Disney is you can’t sit on it em indefinitely…you start to lose monetary value asset within 2 years. That’s the beauty of it.

So that fastpass + return that you said people would storm the gates to get back hasn’t “gelled” yet, huh?
First, how do you know people aren't clamoring for its return?

Second, if you're talking about the people who post on this site, that's a very small sample size. And if you limit it to those who have actually used both FP+ and Genie+ so as to have a valid point of comparison, the number is likely minuscule at this point. I've seen posts from a few, @dreday3 for example, and it seems to cut both ways at this point.

I'm not saying your question isn't valid, just maybe premature.

That was specifically to Jeffy…who claimed in September that the end of fastpass+ would doom the parks division…humorous take then and now

my hunch is fastpsss plus has already been forgotten…and you know why my hunches are annoying?

(one reason at least…amongst serveral)

I don’t know whether it’s been forgotten or not but that’s beside the point. It’s gone and it’s time for people to move on. Disney’s never going back to a free skip the line system.

After using both, I personally preferred FP+ and found certain aspects of Genie+ to be very aggravating, but I’m going to give it another try in April with a larger group.

We’ll definitely have to adjust and change the way we do some things, but change is a part of life. It’s harder for some than for others, but no one escapes it.

Fastpass was good

plus lead people down a path of accepted lower expectations for higher prices

and now we’re in the end game

..:it was a sweet dream

Genie + will never be preferred over FP+, however my experience with it during New Years week was not nearly as bad as other proclaimed it to be.

I bought Rise and got SDD with my first Genie +. I was able to get RNRC with my 2nd one as well as one example. There were negatives also obviously.

Just saying hey because I feel important when my name is mentioned.

Hey.

😃

By the way @Chi84, we are cooking dinner and have a Journey concert from the 80s playing on YouTube and I've lost my mind and was dancing on the couch to Don't Stop Believing. Perhaps I can convince Disney to use at another after hours?😂

Lol. They will. This system is so bad that it will. Show me one person who likes a genie+ over FP+

genie+ just launched in the middle of a pandemic with a years worth of used dvc points and pent up travel demand.

I see the current commercials for spring discounts a telling sign.

it will affect business. That’s a fact Jack.

That’s a covid flash…not 3 crappy fastpasses, buck

and the “spring discounts” are almost nothing off an inflated price…look into it

All that tells me is your looking to lose more money paying for a rigged nighttime ticket 🤪

Wdw got my last dollar. I’ve been so many times and I have 490 points in 3 separate contracts at BLT. We are going to Alunai next summer with my points and then selling.

we will spend our vacations elsewhere

my kids don’t even want to go back because this trip was so awful and that’s really sad.

Why does it stick it to Disney? Not sure I follow.
