Looks like this new direct upcharge for already paid for stuff is a big hit
I will be withholding any additional jokes and attempts of humor at the expense of $lappie until Steve posts more.

Guests want higher prices and less flexibility
…more or less…every call.
if you can’t see through that Saran Wrap screen…there’s little help

It’s amazing how many people didn't - nor still don’t - realize what a lie that is"We want to raise prices to reduce the number of guests in the parks"

For anyone who did believe that, I would just ask if they think there is anyone who wants to be the CEO of The Walt Disney Company fielding questions about attendance dropping at their theme parks.
Grab a sausage-egg-and-cheese from Starbucks and pop open a collapsible traffic cone in that little circle between Crystal Palace and the Adventureland bridge.Although with the move to 60 minute early entry during the next few weeks, there's going to be a lot of people trying to book LL whilst rope dropping. Could lead to all kinds of hilarity.
I’d be really good at that…it’s be a hootFor anyone who did believe that, I would just ask if they think there is anyone who wants to be the CEO of The Walt Disney Company fielding questions about attendance dropping at their theme parks.
And that’s all that matters…because it’s about abstract “potential”…not productionI'd imagine they'd gloss over that little tidbit with, "Per-guest spending was up over 42% last quarter! MAGIC!!! Attendence was down 108%"
This just in from Disney top brass...I genuinely don't know how they could make this system worse.
The Bobs never intended to “make the experience better”I love how every step they make to try and make the Disney experience better always makes it more complicated and frustrating.
Standby had slow moving lines but at least they were constant.
Fastpass was basically a virtual queue and it worked ok...the best of Fastpass.
Fastpass+ was just a joke basically needing to book 2 months in advance basically preventing you from swapping your park days while on vacation.
Now Genie+. It gives you bad recommendations, tries to upsell you and, if you do follow it, could have you traversing back and forth through the parks rather than moving at a gradual pace.
I long for the days of waking up on vacation, going to the parks, being able to experience what I wanted to experience, eat where we wanted to eat, and heading back to the resort...without constantly checking wait times and when my reservation window would open and can we do attraction X before needing to rush to our dinner reservation...
Universal isn't perfect by any means but I just got back from a day at Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay... We walked around the lagoon and hit every attraction along the way. We didn't have Express Pass. We just took our time and didn't feel rushed to get to reservations or attraction times. It was really refreshing.
As I understand it…genie+ is useless at about 7:01 each morning anyway…Welp, It'll be an interesting 15 days at the parks. More Genie+ options. I am interested to see how things play out. I can't imagine some rides being an individual cost some of the time and included in G+ at other times. But watching things unfold for the past month, never say never!
WDW MOVING SOME ATTRACTIONS FROM ILL TO G+
That was pretty much our experience over Thanksgiving. MK was the ONLY place it felt like it did anything at all, but the system needs major work on return times etc....As I understand it…genie+ is useless at about 7:01 each morning anyway…
the result is a more pain in the butt, schedule restrictive version of fastpass that has you on the phone the whole day
definition of magic
You haven't seen the "Express is free when you stay at..." ads? They're everywhereHow has Universal not taken advantage of the Genie+ mess? Simple and effective trolling of WDW--> Buy an Express Pass, go on (nealry) every ride once gauranteed. No 7 a.m. clicking, no messed up meal plans, no planning needed. Just go on a ride when you want. Then show Genie+ as something like this:
We're fleshy money sacks.Genie seems to have been designed with the goal of keeping guests in the parks from open to close. That's not how a lot of guests do the parks. It's as if Disney doesn't know their guests at all.
Oops, I slipped back and called us "guests" again, darn it. We are "consumers" now, sorry about that.
And I could stand to lose a few $20s, if ya know what I mean. We're fleshy money sacks.
No, this is a social experiment and it's likely a different hypothesis. Namely, that they will get more Genie+ revenue by putting everyone in the bucket for those attractions than if they ratcheted those attractions' ILL cost upwards.
