All this bickering/stress would be avoided if they had actually invested in their parks...
At this point Disney simply don't care about their reputation and customer happiness, its all about money and money only...as it stands, they could wrap a turd in Mickey Mouse paper and people would still pay $30 for it.

Only when the novelty of the parks reopening has died down..and the overseas novelty of only just recently being allowed back in the US has waned..Disney 50th is done..only then (I reckon Jan 2023) will they start to see numbers reducing as by then regular visitors will realise Genie is a disaster and costly...and people will start to see value elsewhere. We used to visit from the UK 3 times a year...but solely down to the disaster at Disney with Genie and Ll and all that jazz, its meant we are looking elsewhere from now on....Will do Tokyo and tour Europe.

Disney in Florida is done for us....in this 2 week holiday we have been about 8 days to Disney Parks and to be honest, it's been too much hassle, unnecessarily costly and we've had by far our worst experience in 18 holidays to Orlando so far.

Such a shame as previously we have absolutely loved our trips here, but its just not the same anymore...maybe not just Disney, but we've just felt different this time...maybe it's just because it's busy on the parks. We assumed it would be quiet and nobody breaking up till Xmas...butnit appears America children can be taken out of schooling easy and without penalty, (in the UK families are fined heavily for taking kids out of term time) - so we assumed a quiet holiday but instead it's been heaving every day....the busiest I've seen it in all of our 16 visits to florida in the past.

No one has to get up early every day, just as no one had to get up early in the days of paper Fastpass. The truth is there has always been a benefit to getting up early, whether it be for EMH, rope drop, or collecting Fastpasses.

So please tell us oh wise one, since you think everything that doesn't match your opinion is stupid, what is the perfect setup that will please everyone?
Really? No need to be hostile and aggressive

Sure there can be advantages for getting up early like Rope Drop, EMH, etc and if thats what you want to do, then great, go do it...........But why does it have to penalize everyone else who doesnt want to do it? As i mentioned in an earlier post, my best estimation is only 20% of the people that visit MK on any given day (average of about 50k) enter the park before 11am.......Why would you penalize 80% of your guests??

I dont know....What do you think? Let me ask you a question first and if you can answer it honestly then i'll give you my opinion

1) Would you rather be forced to get up every day before 7am or not?

Penalizing means imposing a punishment.

No one is being punished for arriving late. They're just not getting access to things that are available in the morning.

That would be like saying someone who arrives at 8am goes on 12 attractions but someone who arrives at noon goes on 8 attractions and is therefore being "punished".

Do you realize what a stupid argument this is?
No.......Your argument makes zero sense

I am paying the same amount, I should get the same

If i didnt have to get up at 7am i would get that........

They can adjust how it all looks with some slight pullbacks and PR later. Right now they'll stick to their guns and take the money, while resetting expectations.

Did you really tell me not to be hostile after calling my post stupid? Surely you can't be this oblivious.

You should try reading what people write instead of mindlessly railing against anything that doesn't match your specific opinion.

I noted why I don't think getting up at 7am is the end of the world when on vacation, and specifically noted there is no perfect time. If there's a perfect solution that pleases everyone, by all means, be sure to share with Disney.

I also noted that rolling releases of Genie+ would be a good compromise to accommodate people who don't wake up early, and not have the scenario where the best selections are gone right away. Again, might want to read everything people write before going off the rails.

No really your argument makes no sense.

under the current system yes you are paying the same as as everyone else, And you ARE GETTING the same. You like everyone else have the opportunity to wake up at 7 and take advantage of the full day and all the hours of it. You get that option your just too lazy to use it. If you make the choice not to wake up at 7, that’s on you. But just because you don’t want to use the full day doesn’t mean that you can’t, or your getting less. Nor does it mean that people who are want to use the time should be held back waiting for you to wake up

I didnt call your post stupid......You obviously didnt read or misunderstood my post

I said it is just as stupid if Disney required people to make their selections at midnight as it is at 7am.........One would be too late and one would be too early....please re read my post

Why not make it 9pm the night before and be able to choose return times? What's the problem with that?

Why do people get so hostile on this site? Name calling again....Its unreal......

Oh its you again, making fun of me b of my kids who cannot get up early in the morning b of their special needs

Heres the lazy talk again.......

just because people dont get up before 7am on vacation doesnt make them lazy....Can we all agree here?

And I would not be disadvantaged if for eg the time would be 9pm the night before.........

The people who show up at the park earlier can have access to more operating hours. They could have access to more more show times. So no, you are not getting the same, you are just okay with what you are missing.

All you are doing is pushing towards the over-planning that was causing problems. There are parks and offerings open at 9:00 PM that would make that time inconvenient. There are people who go to bed early. People who might be on a flight.

9pm is inconvenient but 7am isnt? People arent in bed at 7am? People arent on flights at 7am?

Whats the difference with "over planning" at 9pm vs 7am? Still have to do same thing no matter the time......The problem people had with the pre planning was you had to do every day of ur vacation 60 days out........at 9pm, you are still only doing 1 day at a time

Sorry but that just doesnt make any sense at all and i feel like Will Farrell in Old School and you are James Carville

Early risers still have EMH and rope drop

By letting people select their return times and the night before it goes against the Disney plan of keeping people in the parks all day.

I do have a solution that is a compromise, Genie+ is only available in the parks.

I think the 7am is 100% intentional to get guests to go to the park for rope drop. If someone has to be up at 7am anyway, they are more likely to get to the park at or near opening. More park time=more snacking and shopping time= $$.

I can honestly say I HATED waking up at 7am for my EPCOT day a few months ago to get the Remy boarding group. Epcot doesn't open until 2.5 hours later...
Well its not working b less than 10% of the days attendance is at rope drop

Personally I think your best bet would be to give on Disney. There is so many parks out there.
Yes I agree........In all honesty, we have loved it for 40+ years but this past trip was our worst....my kids didn't even enjoy themselves...........that says it all

Have you ever thought that's part of Disney's plan with this system. To get people in the parks early and all day.
Sure....But they need to try something else then b its not working

and i highly doubt the data is any different today than it was 20 years ago and it wont be 20 years from now......

some people just dont go in the am and some just dont go in the pm

I dont love it but it's 100% better than 7am

Yeah but then you have a mass of people waking up, taking buses, making sure they are in the park at rope drop and then leaving to go back for a nap. It puts a lot of undue stress on the transportation network and main gate infrastructure for no real benefit.

But if the park opens at 8, don't you kind of still have to be up by 7? Because if you start Genie + when park opens or when in park, people arriving later are still going to have the same problems because those arriving there earlier will snatch up better times.
