Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Eh, don't really agree, but people can have their preferences. FoP certainly doesn't rely on its IP any more than Velocicoaster does (for example). And Uni certainly has their share of stuff that basically relies on liking the IP to be able to get significant enjoyment - I mean, I've ridden Fast and the Furious and I don't know what the heck they were thinking there. Perhaps more relevant, I would argue that while Diagon Alley itself is fantastic I can't believe how much they ailed it in with Gringotts as a ride. I mean, a fantastic ride system and concept and you waste it just shuttling people between scenes from a movie?

Anyhow, I haven't experienced Hagrids (talk about a problem with ride reliability and lines - not issues unique to Disney) but I'd put the last 6 or 7 years of WDW at least on par with Uni in terms of new offerings. Certainly with nothing beyond 2022 planned for Disney, the years after will be all Uni (much like the period surrounding the opening of WWOHP and Forbidden Journey) unless Disney starts greenlighting and approving.
The only problem with that is it will take them twice as long to get the half of whatever they announce built. Then it will be a shadow of what they announced too. Recent history with Disney kinda bares this out.

I agree that Disney overpromises and underdelivers. I disagree that what Disney has been producing recently isn't as good as what Uni has done. I'd gladly take Rise, FoP, MMRR, etc. over Uni stuff from the same time frame.

I havent experienced Rise or MMRR so I cant comment on those til Nov. FoP to me was good, not as good as Gringots or Forbidden Journey. But it did beat Kong and wrecked Fallon and Fast and Furious!!!!

Ugh. I hate the constant need to put things in lockers before getting on an attraction at Universal.

If I can keep a small bag in a pouch or at my feet, on a roller coaster at WDW that goes upside down, why do I need to store every single loose item before riding something as tame as the Mummy?

Is that what you were talking about? Is this totally off topic? Does it matter?

Not to perpetuate this - but I had always thought the locker rules tied directly to safety concerns.

1. Any attraction that goes over a pathway requires a locker and no metal (since it could fall) - so Hulk, RRR and VelociCoaster.
2. Any attraction that has a switch track or something where the car could potential derail (badly) if something fell on it requires a locker for bags or large objects (so Hagrid's, Mummy, Escape from Gringott's).
3. Forbidden Journey I always assumed was given the motion of the Kuka arms. Similarly, MIB is because the vehicle design is so open.

I can't prove that, and I don't deny it can be annoying. I guess it just sort of made more sense to me for the safety vs. convenience factor. (And I'll admit the one x factor is Everest, though it's switch tracks are in a different setting and format.)

Now back to the awfulness of everything post-2019 Disney and Genie+. :)

That is less then $0.75 an hour for the first year. Then nothing. It honestly isn’t that great of a deal. Signing bonuses vs wage increases are hiring companies best friend but aren’t front line friendly.
If someone's got high interest credit card debt, a big check can save them a lot of money over time as well as free up their ability to charge more as needed. There are perks to having that money up front for people who are living paycheck to paycheck or worse.

The site that can’t be named has posted photos of FP+ Kiosks having been removed from WDW. Looks like they won’t be upgraded with payment terminals for Genie+ / IAS purchases.

You’ll likely have to go to GR to purchase LL entry without a smartphone.

Or simple kiosks somewhere else... No point in putting them all over property. They can be put in shops, or limited spots like FP+ customer service was.

Heck, just put a few CSR out with portable scanners and that's all they need. They'll be the new 'best kept secret' kiosks all over property ;) ;)
