This is Gonna be s paid add on…not embedded fee

yinz are using the fastpass+ Thinking - which frankly still sucks - and assuming people want to do that all I’m saying is there is a small but important variable involved now

genie better grant the right wishes

Not to mention it is "supposedly" capable of changing your dining reservation for you or itinerary for you on the fly. We will see how that pans out.

At 7 AM you pick your first LL. Forget IAS for a moment.

DAK day: Park opens at 8 AM.
  1. You wan't Na'vi for 10 AM because you know you will be in standby for FoP, so you immediately select DINOSAUR for 10 AM to lock in any decent LL.
  2. You rope drop FoP, which is already a 1.5 hour wait.
  3. While you are in standby for FoP you keep revewing available LL.
  4. All of a sudden you see a 10 AM Na'vi.
  5. You cancel DINOSAUR and select Na'vi.
  6. At 10 AM go to Lightning Lane Entrace for Na'vi.
  7. At 10 AM you pick your next LL (ITTBAB or DINOSAUR, etc.)
  8. Now, at 10:05 AM you have ridden both FoP and Na'vi and you are walking to your next LL...
On what planet will FoP be a 1.5 hour wait at rope drop?

Your not understanding my point. Forget about the IAS rides. At 7 am...you can make your first Genie + selection from a list of choices...Soarin. Peter Pan, kali River, Smugglers Run, whatever you and your party want to choose. IF you only have the option of picking the NEXT available time slot at 7am and that slot is at 9am which is too early for many guests, and they choose another ride more in line with when they want to arrive at the park like 1030 or 11, then the ride you might have wanted that was only available at 9 am might no longer be available.
I mean... if 9am is too early for you to be in the park, you're going to have a crappy experience no matter WHAT system Disney decided to roll out. FASTPASS, FastPass+, Genie+, Boarding Groups, or 100% standby, your experience will be worse if you want or need to sleep in.

Well it sounds like there will be a phone party just inside the tapstyles, but for off-site guests only, exclusive!

It's possible all the Maxpass style (not-IAS) selections for 7DMT will be gone for the day at 7:00:08 am. A lot depends on how this all works in practice. They may have to limit you to the next couple hours as someone just said, or drop additional passes throughout the day. I predict drops, and refresh refresh refresh.

Previous post in closed thread.
You do realize that 7DMT is only available via IAS, thus your daily $15 Genie+ will never give you LL for 7DMT, you’ll either wait standby or pay IA$ to skip the line for 7DMT so no worries about the 7DMT Maxpass style (not-IAS) being gone at 7:00:08.

7 trips I never ONCE arrived before 10 or 10:30 AM. Not a single time. We stay late at the parks usually but we wake up and take our time and maybe have breakfast somewhere or use the pool.

We would book FP+'s from 10 AM onward and always got what we wanted. The times might not have been exact but it always worked out. Thie was always Spring break.. the 2nd busiest time of the year. Of course it helped it was also 60 days in advance, lol.

BINGO.

For us 30 day people, rope drop is your friend. Rare to find the major attractions (FoP, etc) available on FP+.

Cool. You'll still have that option, and you'll be competing against fewer people for those time slots.

I hope! That would mean if I bypassed an earlier time to show up at a high demand ride, that ill have a chance later on to get a slot. If that is the case then im okay with this. Especially with the election of rides.

It depends on how they scatter the availability over the time slot windows also.

attendance bumps are now 100% economy related.
This. And demographics. While new attractions, push repeat attendance among DVC, locals, and passholders, I've attributed most of the growth to Gen-X becoming parents, and the level of discretionary income available to Gen-X or the Boomer Grandparents at that particular moment. Now, we're moving into Millennials as parents, and the ones in my family have been touting the "we value experiences, over stuff" for so long, I can't imagine Disney didn't notice. Merchandise has devolved, and upcharge experiences are out the kazoo.

Slinky Dog is only a 45 minute wait CURRENTLY.
Yes, but pre-pandemic...

With Genie + everyone is in the same boat for the Genie + rides. 7 AM Resort guest or not you make your first one as early as 7 AM.
Correct, which is nice. We all get to play the game. Before you got a major advantage by staying on property.

Now, the difference is I might not be offered to buy an IAS for FoP either, bc the resort guests will buy them all at 7 AM, while I would have to wait for opening. So again, rope drop is still my friend.

As stated by others, they are different things.

Lightning Lane = old Fast Pace Entrance line

Lightning Lanes can by used in two ways:
1) Buy Genie+ (once per day) and you can select multiple rides to skip the line (like FP, but called LL)
2) Buy IAS (up to twice per day) and you can select a high-demand ride to skip the line
I know others have probably explained it but I haven't seen it. It's hard to keep up with the information when I leave the thread for 30 minutes and come back to find 100 new pages. Thanks for explaining it though.
