Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It's why I don't think you will many book say Haunted Mansion for 7pm if that's what is left at 11am. Most will pick whatever is available to them.

Which is why this one pass at a time system is problematic. Especially so at low attraction parks where sometimes you have to choose a later time for popular attractions.

Maybe they'll use the old FastPass rule. You can book another once you've used your current pass or two hours have passed since you selected it, whichever comes first.

Yeah…that’s not gonna work
I don't see why not since you can't book another one til you use your first one. Say you book Haunted Mansion at 10am, til you ride that you can't book another ride.

Why won't it work?

What he is saying is of you book the next one at the time they provided as the only option and that time conflicts with a dining reservation or something else planned it will present an issue to the guest.

I don't think it's problematic. In Disneys mind most people were fine with 3 FP so with this new system most people will probably get 3 a day minimum.

The video mentioned it and also displayed it.

That's not true. For. Genie+ you can only book for the time they show. It's not like FP+ where you will be given multiple options.

What i am saying is… the video shows their lead use case - that doesn’t mean that is the ONLY way to do things. We need to wait and see…. It could be line legacy fp/maxpass which id only next window… or it could be like FP+ where if you go further, you can find other options.

given the whole trip planner model of genie…. I can see it going either way.

I am struggling with facts versus speculation in this thread. Has it actually been confirmed that you won’t be able to select a time slot for G+, or you only get the next available slot...take it or leave it?

This is right from the Disney site.

Disney Genie+ service (available for purchase): For the price of $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World Resort and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland Resort, choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance. You can make one selection at a time,

I don’t think that works…

because if genie tells you the next window for buzz is 50 minutes later and you have a reservation in 45…people get a might bit ticked
There were many times I was juggling FP+ slots v. restaurant ADRs.

The more in-demand rides only had a few slots available which conflicted with other FP+s and ADRs. Especially if you would occasionally refresh and an opening for Space Mountain would appear, but it was the same time as an ADR.

If you know your ADRs, then you just refrain from grabbing a DG+LLpass at that time and look at the available times for other rides. OR... you look to see if you can change your ADR.

If DG+ works like DL Maxpass did, then you can grab that 7pm slot for HM, and then in 90 minutes later, the clock resets, and you can grab a second, sooner slot from a different ride.

In the meantime, you do standby, or see a show, or get something to eat, or nap in CoP.

do you know what is meant by ‘use case’?

there is no talk about canceling one either in that text… are you sure that means you can’t cancel??

or is… possible… there are more use cases and flows then are covered in the marketing intro?

Thank you. I've only heard it called Lightning Lane.
LL is the queue, which used to be called the Fastpass queue.

Previously, to use the Fastpass queue, you used FP+ and arranged a time slot.

Going forward, you arrange with Disney Genie+ (DG+) to access a LL.

OR... you can simply purchase access to Individual Attraction Selections (IAS) which is comprised of 2 top tier rides in each park.

Not sure what you mean. Are you asking if you don't like the time they give you can scroll down and find a better one?

Yes…but juggled that mostly in advance…not in the heat on the ground
This thing is supposed to “work it out” for you and people will expect that

You do understand I’ve been to wdw before, right?
I think I got the basic gist of how things worked

This I can work with. Even if its my first choice ride. I'd rather it be late in the day. But the super popular rides like Smugglers or Soarin who knows if youn dont grab the first available at 7am as your first choice and it's only for 9 am? And you choose to wait for later availability and there is none for the remainder of the day.
