If they had an AP which included some level of Genie I’d buy it.
I’ve been seeing similar reports of problems over the last 2-3 weeks. Unavailable first thing.
Fireworks are at 8 pm. You have 2.5 hours after the show for rides. I can usually do BTMRR, Pirates, HM, Pan, SDMT in 1.5 hours after fireworks, that extra hour should allow you to do 2-3 more rides. Pre fireworks is time to do Philhar, CBJ, Tiki, Peoplemover, or the train. It’s not hard.My family are not morning people. We have the Sea World fun cards that let us get in all year and today they have their halloween spooktacular, so sea world here we come. If Disney doesn’t get their together this is going to turn into a sea world and universal trip while staying at bay lake tower.
Becasue it is possible if genie were working on time. Yesterday was very crowded at MK and we Stacked and refreshed at MK. Got there at 6pm rode space, buzz, big thunder, pirates, jungle cruise, Pooh, speedway and haunted mansion plus had dinner at the plaza all using LL. Probably could have got another ride or 2 in right before 11 but didn't try.I’m glad you people who think it should be possible to experience an entire theme park from 12 noon-8 pm exist, but for the life of me I can’t understand you. Not only are you ignoring an entire half of the operating hours, but also the half it’s most pleasant to be in the theme parks. When DLR gifts me with 8am-12pm closes for more then 3 days, I can’t physically go open to close, so I start taking naps in the afternoon and then have a nice dinner. I’m usually out of the parks by 1-2pm and don’t return until 5:30-6.
I hope you sent them a sternly worded letter. We were at Disney the week of the 24th of September. We attempted to use the Disney Genie on multiple days. We spent 45 minutes before we could finally connect with a ride starting at 7 pm. My wife was in tears. Error message, error message error message over and over again. If Disney cannot handle the capacity of the park, then maybe they should update their computer systems to handle it. We were so unhappy!!!!
And they know their IT is terrible. The choice to go to a monetized ride reservation system built on that system was just shameful.Reports people are lined up to get refunds. What a mess. Disney should be ashamed. Their IT dept is horribly managed
They don't care. The people in the hotel and restaurants were so wonderful. And the cast members were also so very nice.I hope you sent them a sternly worded letter.
Refunds is a baseline. They better give out makeup passes or credit towards food. Tons of opportunity costs they have to forgoReports people are lined up to get refunds. What a mess. Disney should be ashamed. Their IT dept is horribly managed
If you don't complain, they take that as approval and acceptance of their crappy system. No matter how great the hotel and restaurant CMs are. They don't care. The people in the hotel and restaurants were so wonderful. And the cast members were also so very nice.
We complained in a survey. Crickets. People on Reddit are quite unhappy about the situation with the Genie. We spent 50 dollars on it one day it was fall break I guess. We weren't aware of that until we arrived. We don't have children. It was like WallyWorld. Sorry folks the park is closed with their computer system problems....Also, a lot of people were very upset when check in which was supposed to be at 3 turned into 5 when we arrived...If you don't complain, they take that as approval and acceptance of their crappy system. My wife and I were at WDW that same week. We had the 4-park, 4-day ticket special and we used Genie+ in each park. I didn't notice any major problems with it. I was able to get BG #1 on TRON and Guardians on consecutive days using my apparent magic touch, which delayed my tries with Genie+ at precisely 7:00am, but I was still able to use it later. We were at Disney the week of the 24th of September. Maybe, I'm just imagining things:My wife and I were at WDW that same week. We had the 4-park, 4-day ticket special and we used Genie+ in each park. I didn't notice any major problems with it. Edit: It was my first time using Genie+ and I learned a few things as the week progressed, such as editing my scheduled arrival time to try and stack things together in the afternoon. Also, I learned that Genie+ can only be used once per day on the same ride.
The weeks before we arrived at WDW I read some Disney related websites on strategies for Genie+, which rides become unavailable first, the several ways I can select another LL when I still have one waiting, and more. I'll probably be better at it the next time we visit but after 9 days we had to return to the real world.
Wait, what? So, we're supposed to speak with a Disney Experience Team to waste even more time in the parks when we experienced so much of a burden to get one ride. That makes total sense! If you don't complain, they take that as approval and acceptance of their crappy system. No matter how great the hotel and restaurant CMs are.
