They are required in the system to already have that in place. Not optional. The answer to #4 will likely depend on if you have a 1-park-per-day ticket or park hopper tickets.

First off…it’s not “cheaper”. If to follow the day to day prices…this is actually for all intents and purposes a raise across the board.I actually think this does kinda make sense, although I’m surprised they haven’t raised the price of the multipark version higher than Magic Kingdom? Same as charging more for park hopper?
Certainly don’t think cheaper version for the quieter parks is a bad thing but then again our family doesn’t use Genie+
I’ll get my pitchfork sharpener readyNot necessarily.
Again, as presented this isn't that bad. If they come out a week or a few months after it starts and double the price of the all-park version then I will be first in line with my pitchfork at the ready. I certainly recognize that is a possibility but even then, it is a bit of a no-lose situation in my mind.
If they have started to learn from recent mistakes and are being legit about this, prices will not increase significantly beyond some minor adjustments here or there for a good while. They will take the increased sales volume/profit from AK and EPCOT and be happy. On the other hand, if they truly are stupid and go ahead and significantly jack up the prices on any or all of the G+ options it will trigger even more to abandon Disney and their numbers will continue to go down the toilet until people are fired and/or significant changes are made.
Trouble is a casino has more upside than a slate of 40 year old rides and $60 buffetsI just view it like going to the casino and Disney is the house.
Some individuals will come out ahead (just as some individuals will benefit from this change) ... But in the end, the house (or the Mouse) always wins
Now remember doing that months in advance? And getting up even earlier to hit your window opening?People now need to decide by 7 AM:
1. if they want an ILL,
2. Do they want a VQ,
3. Do they want G+, and now
4. If yes to #3, do they want a single park or multi-park?
Not exactly a stress-free start to the day, is it?
I remember having pretty much the same experience then as now without being $800 poorer. Now remember doing that months in advance? And getting up even earlier to hit your window opening?![]()
Or the price for MK/multi-park will go up to $50+ dollars, an annoyingly high number of people will pay it, and Captain will be confused about why, again, most people here don't share his joy over it after insulting a bunch of people by either calling them idiots, fringe, or old.Not necessarily.

I think the only requirements for those monikers around here are disagreeing with his opinions on entirely subjective things. I believe there's a clinical diagnosis for people who are like that.Hey! Im one of those old idiots on the fringe!
The level of contempt they feel for their Walking Wallets (f/k/a "Guests") is palpable. What happens if you want to upgrade from the one park option to the multi-park?
"Asked if guests who purchased the service for one park could upgrade to a multi-park option after the fact, a Walt Disney World spokesperson informed us that guests could purchase Genie+ for the additional park and visit Guest Services to be refunded the difference between the combined total and the Multi-Park price."

Disney Genie+ Switching to Per Park Pricing at Walt Disney World on Tuesday, June 27th
Walt Disney World has announced that beginning Tuesday, June 27th, Disney Genie+ will switch to a per park pricing basis. UPDATE – 6/27/2023: Aswww.laughingplace.com
Don't forget APs and people who add the hopper at Guest Services. The answer to #4 will likely depend on if you have a 1-park-per-day ticket or park hopper tickets.
I would think ticket holders trend more towards deciding ahead of time to hop, but AP holders - since they can always hop - would be more inclined to decide in the moment where they want to go. I definitely think AP holders made spur of the moment choices.Really? What do you define as “fringe behaviour”? 10%, 20%, 30%?
Of the 40% of guests who have park hoppers (according to @lentesta ’s analysis) you think that they all know in advance that they will absolutely, definitely park hop that day?
It never happens that after the pool the kids &/or parents decide they either don’t want to go back to a park or change their minds about where they want to go to?
The majority of international guests who have park hopping automatically added to their tickets know they can be completely flexible in their plans, often because they have 2 weeks to enjoy the parks. So plans can, and do, get changed day by day.
Well, in those days there was no charge for FP+ and the only choice needed was "which park on each day?" Hopping wasn't artificially delayed, park reservations weren't needed so you could change your mind about what park to start with at any time without needing to visit Guest Services to get a partial refund, and that 7 AM planning session was a one-time thing instead of each day of your trip. But other than that, this is way better! Now remember doing that months in advance? And getting up even earlier to hit your window opening?![]()
Yeah you did it once... and then were a slave to it...Well, in those days there was no charge for FP+ and the only choice needed was "which park on each day?" It’s not better and it costs a lot.Yeah you did it once... and then were a slave to it...
but you still had to decide if you were park hopping, still had to do it early, etc etc etc
I'm not saying this is better... but to hear people upset about choices they have to make... choices that Disney locked in ages ago and now just parade around under different guises...
