Liberty Tree Characters comeing back!

Character free dining is best when the price and food quality/selection are not on par with character dining. Had a similar menu be put in place for dinner as lunch has been done, it probably would have been more successful. Ditching the characters and keeping everything else the same was not a smart move.

I agree with you 100%. Cutting the product (in this case characters), without adding anything else, while keeping the price the same, was a jerk the customer move, all in the name of cost cutting.

I don't know the numbers, but I can tell you that I called to get a reservation about two weeks in advance of the day we were going for Love's birthday Feb 18th - and had zero problem getting one. When we arrived, we waited about five minutes to be seated. And while the restaurant seemed full, it wasn't crowded by any stretch of the imagination. We picked LTT because Love had really wanted to try it and it was his birthday so his choice. I could go either way on characters (two years before we did Crystal Palace and had a blast with Pooh and Friends) but I did think it was a bit much in price since there were no longer characters.

I go to WDW about 3 times a year and almost always eat at LT. On just about anynight, the lobby is completely packed and the benches and walls outside are equally mobbed with diners waiting for their table. It's sometimes a 5-10 minute just to tell them you have an ADR and to get your pager!

I went on Sunday Feb 22nd around 530PM and I was shocked at what I saw. There were open benches in the lobby for sitting!! We got our pager and we couldn't have been sitting more than a minute before it went off.

The whole restaurant was missing that "busy" feel you always get in there, plus the absence of characters was glaringly obvious for any veteran goer.

But the true litmus test for telling how busy LT is to check out the hallway to that little tiny upstairs bathroom. If can't see ANY line for the bathroom, then attendance is WAY down. :ROFLOL:

Got a message back from my LTT server friend. He said had seen the article and talked to his manager. They haven't heard if the characters were coming back but they are trying to find out. He said they're always last to know anything. LOL!

"Be warned, though. This itty-bitty animatronic Remy is scheduled to make his last appearance at Epcot on September 10th"from the Jim Hill Article

Maybe the reason Remy is leaving on that day is because they will send him to the Disneyland Expo :ROFLOL:

If this is true I might switch back to LTT from Chef Mickey's on our first night so we don't have to leave the park. I'm gonna wait for a firm confirmation and date of characters return before I cancel CM though.
