News Liberty Square to Fantasyland walkway to be widened behind Cinderella Castle

Is it just me... or does it look like Cinderella's castle needs some fresh paint, especially on its roof and turret caps?

I've got pictures where you can see the wood grain of the plywood which I guess is the entire top parts of the castle.

It will be a tolled walkway with toll collection gates at either end.

Are what look like faux 'storage vaults' (dark grey colored) closest to the moat and to the bridge a new feature, or were they there before? I don't remember ever noticing them.

Photo update as of Thursday, August 8, 2019. The faux storage vaults under the wall and above the water line are new, as this wall is new. Gives the appearance of wharf storage for river boats to unload their cargo. Note the old rockwork on the extreme left from the old wall was continued below on the new wall, next to the faux storage vaults.
