Let's Talk Monorails...

So here's the thing. Unless stuff has changed recently, there's something fishy with the monorails (LOL).

I've noticed a lot lately (some is old news) that there's some crazy stuff going on with the monorails appearances.

Peach for instance, does not have matching window vents... That's old. BUT as I'm watching monorail videos (I get into those moods yanno) I notice the insanity of Red having a crooked stripe on the nose. I've also seen BLACK with a crooked stripe. Gold has an uneven one (I think), not to mention the old news of not including the D logo by the cab door... Yet they're putting it on the trams now. SOMEONE GET IN THERE AND DO SOME QUALITY CONTROL!! LOL :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: Honestly though, you'd think that when the trains get a repaint they'd watch what they're doing.

I applied for monorails just recently, so maybe I can slip in there and fix it, LOLOLOLOL

EDIT: Fixed cray to crazy.

The Disney World monorails need a complete modernization overhaul.

Would love the Tokyo versions as a nice refresh, or something even more futuristic to fit EPCOTs original city of the future concept.

In addition the monorail system should branch off to every major U.S. city for direct luxury transport to/from the world :p

With so much maintenance going on to keep everything up and running, maybe paint jobs arent a priority. As long as they keep running for me I dont care how crooked their lines are. Good luck on getting into a monorail position. Ive heard its a well sought after job and everyone that does it enjoys it thoroughly.

You can use the edit button and fix that problem because otherwise you have a whole bunch of blank faces trying to figure out what cray means.
could be the same as Covfefe

I was talking to one of the Monorail CMs he said that the monorails they are using now are only supposed to have a lifespan of 18 years, they have been using them for 25. He also said that the company disney hired to make the monorails went out of business. I dont understand why they cant find a new company though, they are so old and gross, riding them used to feel like a luxury, not anymore. I question if Disney will keep them for much longer as they announced a new Gondola system and driverless cars. I hope they dont get rid of them but they need a serious update.

I dont even mind not having an expansion of the system, but those trains are going on 30 years, at this point. It would be nice to start seeing some replacements come in, as they are getting to the point where no amount of maintenance and repair can keep them looking/smelling/functioning well.

Im not saying replace them all at once, but a nice plan to rotate one new one in per year would go a long way toward making them better fit the magic.

Bombardier is surely not out of business. I want to say that they've had issues with Disney though.

Neither Bombadier (Mark VI) or Dynamic (Mark VII) are out of business...This sounds like you were talking to a bus driver who "heard some things". Do all the rumors still come from bus drivers?

Bombardier is still very much in the transportation industry, so you're correct.

No it was a pilot. i dont understand then why disney doesnt replace them.
The cost has greatly increased in the past 10 years. There was a RUMOR that the automation "assistance" installation was the first step to new trains. Basically before they get new trains, they want the system to work 100% before they do.

I don't know if it's true but that was what I'd heard.

Don't they supply Vegas with their monorail needs?

ADA compliant monorails dont look near a cool, but they do work. (they basically run along a little road up in the air).

While I think the monorails at WDW on living on borrowed time I still think they are the sharpest of all Disneys monorail fleets. Their design holds up over time.

They are pretty gross to ride in and are complete rattle boxes. I miss the days of everyone having a seat if they wanted. It was enjoyable. Now it's almost grueling the way people are herded in.

I've seen a monorail return from a new paint job and seen an entire car skipped because it was acceptable condition. That could be why things don't always match up.
