Let's hear it for AK!

Animal Kingdom is probably tied with MGM for my second favorite park behind MK, and I think it can only get better. Once Everest is finished it will be so much better. It has the best theming by far, and the Tree of Life is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I love walking through Maharajah Jungle Trek and seeing the coolest animals ever;tigers. It has Legend of the Lion King, which is the best show at WDW. Dinosaur is one of the coolest rides also.

Whenever I got to WDW I ALWAYS get to AK. It's by far my FAVORITE! Everything there is awesome! :sohappy: :) There is so much to see... shows, animals and rides :) My favorite show is "Festival of the Lion King". I HAVE to see it everytime I go. Just seeing the lil' kiddies up there on stage brings me such happiness! You have to love the kitties too (Errmm I mean tigers)! They are soooo cute :) Countdown to Extinction... well thats a whole different story.. that ride :eek:SCARES  me! I swear I know whats coming everytime but uggh.. just scares me. My pic should be on the brochur for the ride b/c I look more scared each time! I have the photos to prove it! But yeah so all in all... AK is at the top of my list!!! Great park! :) :sohappy: :sohappy:

This is why I never go on Dinosaur b/c I am the biggest wuss on Earth, but from what I know of it I think it is an incredible ride. But there is so much more at AK I love. But that's why I wish we would ad more than EE, because although EE looks AWESOME, it's one more thing I can't do. At least the village will be neat.

Another reason I love AK is when going from one area or another to work I can make a quick pit stop and check out the animals.

I like Animal Kingdom's theme, and some rides are really cool, but it's not my favorite. I find myself having done everything in that park after half a day. In the other parks, I need at least 2 days to fully enjoy them. After a few new editions, I'll probably enjoy AK a lot more. If I don't go on a hot day, it's a lot better too.

Pixie - do a search on these boards and you will find a lot of people saying that they would not ride certain thrill rides because they were scared of them. But after eventually being coaxed onto them they had a blast and ended up added them to their “must do” list.

Work up the courage and give it a go!

Oh yeah, AK is awesome. It's not my favorite Disney park... and at matter of fact, I used to hate it. But that was back when I wanted thrill rides and didnt appreciate great themeing, etc... Looking past the rides there is so much to do. I can relax on the safari ride, I can cool off on Kali river rapids, and if I want thrills I can just go to Dinosaur. Its great.

Thank you for opening your mind.

And I will try to work up the courage, but I jump real bad at most anything and it hurts me heart when I do so.

We will be down the same time as you. We arive on the 30th, can't wait!

On to AK.

I think it has become my 2nd favorite park. MK is my favorite and really don't think that will change. But AK I think has so much to offer and so much potential as mentioned by others. I must say that others that I know who have gone to AK are not as impressed. I think it is the perception that you are at WDW, where are the rides? I love rides too, but AK is a feast for the eyes. I think that when we go, we will probably be spending 75% of our time between MK and AK because my daughter who is 3 will love the animals.

I would have to say my only gripe which is not really a gripe is that it is more confussing to get around than the other parks. I think part is layout and part is visability. With all the lushness, you can't see around you as much. Like I said that is not a gripe.

I can't wait to go again!

I know that my kids talk about AK as much as MK as we plan our trip and that's what it's all about, right? Oh, my wife and I are looking forward to it as well.

I still need some clarification, alot of people refer to AK as a 'half day' park. Based on the time of year we are going (Nov. 20 - 26, 2004) we are looking at going to AK on Wednesday or Thanksgiving Day. I believe that it is only open until 5:00 that time of year. Can you still see it all on those days at those hours?

I think you'll be able to see mostly everything...remember this is a park where you'll see something new each time you go....but as for the main attractions you shouldn't have a problem...just don't overlook the small things...

Then start small and work your way up :)

When you're leaving AK and walking through all the huges stone walls, one of the walls looks like an elephant. I've noticed a couple of rocks and stones that form animals. I think those are interesting details that I love. Has anyone else ever noticed them?

AK gets better everytime I go. There always seems to be some new nook or path I've never seen in the Oasis, or the areas around the Tree. KS is different each time you ride, and the level of theming is top notch even by Disney standards. Oh yeah, and Tusker House is now on my list of restaurants I have to go to while at WDW.

Tusker House in AK, Flame Tree BBQ in AK, and Yakitori House in EPCOT are my three favorite places to eat on property.

If you guys want e-mail and let me know when you plan are visiting AK, I work 4 days a week right now while in school, but I am all over the place. But if you have never been to AK or are still unfamiliar with it I love to show new guests the map and explain what there is to do. Of course I have done that sort of in this thread. If you are not comfortable with e-mailing me my name is Dani and that is what it says on my nametag, my home area is Front Entrance Merchandise which is any of the merchandise locations in the Oasis and all the way to the area in front of the security checkpoint.
