Congrats to the A's and the Red Sox for giving us an amazing playoff game!

A's knock off the Red Sox in game 1

5-4 in the bottom of the 12th inning.

I hope this is a long series going all 7 games as nailbiting as this one! (I just hope game 7 has a different outcome :lol: )

Kim lost his composure yesterday, but hopefully he'll be back. I like Embree as the closer instead. He seems to have that "closer" mentality...

Good game, though. Too bad we lost.

Great game last night! (though I fell asleep half way thru I woke up in time for the end. )

I hate west coast games.

As for Kim...well he is Buckner's new hero.

I had the pleasure of meeting Buckner back in 1986 after his fiasco. It was downtown Boston in front of the old Sherman's store and he was walking with family (?) while getting heckled occassionally. One man walked up to him, shook his hand and said in a very loud tone "Thanks for your hard work this year. It wasn't your fault. The bullpen failed us."

And if you look at the circumstances leading up to Mookie's at bat, both Stanley and Schiraldi didn't do their jobs well that evening.

Did you even make it to work today? Most people just called in sick so because they need their :snore: :snore: :snore: . Plus on the news a lot of people said they were taking off early today to be home for the game....so they just decided to take the whole day off.
