Le Cellier

I have planned ahead for our trip which starts Sat. I've heard so much about Le Cellier and wish I had made an ADR there. I called and nothing is available the whole week we are there. Is it possible to eat somewhere without an ADR? Do they take names and have you come back later or anything like that? I have an ADR at San Angelo but was thinking we could do a CS at Cantina de San Angelo and try Le Cellier if they take walk ins.

It would most likely be a day-by-day thing. When we were there a month ago (moderate crowd level) they were turning people away at 4:00 p.m. - the earliest they serve dinner. They told those people they might have more luck as a walk-in later in the evening but it was very doubtful. And again, the parks were not even very crowded at that time.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though!

I don't think that they take walk ins. After several years, it was the one restaurant that my wife and I hadn't tried. It is difficult to get ADR's, especially at peaks times or during special events.

Le Cellier is a tough one to get into. Even in the slow season (September) it is very tough and has been known to be all booked up for the week.

Not to make things worse but, my wife and I ate there in March for the first time and it was great. I would suggest calling everyday until your trip, maybe someone will cancel.

You'd have more luck doing this than hoping to walk-in, especially if you're going this time of year or in September during free dining.

It seems that very few take walk ups anymore. Le Cellier is always booked solid. Call everyday and see if there are any cancellations. Also call each day you are in WDW, sometimes you can get a table once you are already there.

It took us quite a few trips to get an ADR (finally this past March) and it was well worth the wait.

For our trip last October we had problems getting a booking too. It is a very popular restaurant and for good reason, the food and service are great. Then if you are on the dining plan, only having to use one table service credit cannot be beat!

We were told they were booked up on the night we had reservations but they seemed to be able to allow several walk-ups. My suggestion would be to try during the week. Not having ADRs on the weekend will probably leave you out of luck at Le Cellier.

Another note, the Cantina de San Angel is nothing like the San Angel restaurant inside. My opinion: don't ruin the experience of the Mexico Pavilion with the Cantina, get a counter service meal somewhere else. I felt like Taco Bell had better food. The San Angel restaraunt inside though is in a crowded, but wonderfully themed setting with really good food. I really loved the Sopa Azteca (a tomato base soup with tortilla, avocado and great cheeses).

Good luck. You will love Le Cellier! And if you have the time and inclination the wine list is great.

We ate at Le Cellier last November during F&W fest....we had late ressies (for 8:30ish), but stopped by to try to take a peak at the place and confirm our ressies in person around 5pm....they hostess told a fam of 4 in front of us to come back at 9pm to check on any late openings, but not to bank on any...

I'd say it'd be TOUGH to get...as such, don't cancel your San Angel ressies until you can verify a Le Cellier time slot....and you may want to ask for a late, late time slot...

my 2 cents...

I don't post much but wanted to give my two cents on this. During the day, even during peak season, they have tons of tables open that they say are reserved. Get there around 11 for an early lunch and keep on them. They should give you one of those tables in hopes that you will be out by the time the next group comes. Another way is to have a reservation for another time or another day and say you suddenly cannot use that day and keep on them. They'll make the switch. We've eaten there three times on New Year's Eve and never had a reservation, and both of these ways has worked. It's all about how you talk to them. They want to squeeze as many people in as they can. Good luck.

This is making me sadder that I didn't think to book this 6 months ago. So I will keep calling and not count on a walk in. My kids (and the parents too!)love Mexican which is why I chose San Angelo. I won't do the Cantina then.

On a positive note - if you love mexican, I think you'll really enjoy San Angelo. I spent a few months studying in Mexico and think the food at this restaurant is right up there. :)

...of course my host-"mama" in Mexico always wanted to make me hamburgers or spaghetti...:lookaroun

Isn't the name of the restaurant San Angel Inn?

:lookaroun

anyway, I think Le Cellier would be tough to get in as a walk-in. My parents got last minute ADR's for Boatwright's at POR like an hour or 2 before. But I don't think everyone is running to eat there. Again, it depends on the restaurants and you can definitely keep trying, even while on your trip you can dial Disney Dining.

Go early for lunch it is wonderfull, BUT also keep calling or go to Guest Relations for help. I recomend you try some wine as well. Was very very good first time I had tried a Canadian Vineyard, was very good and unfortunately I can not order it here in Indiana due to State shipping laws.

Eat at your own risk!

My travel companion got a VERY BAD CASE of food :hurl: poisioning at Le Cellier! Sick for 2 days! We had ADR's and they would not let us check in until 10 minutes before our ADR time and we were still seated over an hour PAST our ADR (I was there 2/1-2/9 of this year). Service was okay, but I wouldnt go there again.

Another 2cents from me. We actually tried to book Le Cellier for this September (and we will keep trying) but as an alternate we have the San Angel Inn booked and we are very happy about this.

San Angel really has excellent food and a great setting.

If you are into wine and want a romantic special dinner for just the adults (if your kids can stay with the grandparents) try Bistro De Paris. It is expensive (not on the dining plan) but what a wonderful meal and atmosphere. They do request you do not come in shorts and T-shirt but we did see people dressed that way.
