Le Cellier Prices Gone Up Again???

What happend to your "o" key?

The fact that I can get steak for 2 at Peter Luger's (That's a menu item, if you have ever been to Peter Luger's you know you don't order a rib eye, or a filet, you order "steak for 2", "Steak for 3" etc. - it's a porterhouse). Anyway, Steak for 2 is on the order of $85. That is less per person than a rib eye at Le Cellier. there is no way you can compare Peter Luger (food, atmosphere, service, and the availability of slab bacon as an appitizer) to Le Cellier - but there it is. Le Cellier is in that price point.

....me thinks a trip to Williamsburg is in order soon. Peter Luger's is the pinnacle of steak....(salivating)

Le Cellier USED to be the best meal I have ever had. USED to be. It can't touch The Filet at California Grill. That tomato butter...Jesus.

With the up in prices and "quality" at Le Cellier...to me, it is not the same. I will still eat there. It is definitely good. It no longer warrants 2-3 trips like I always do. California Grill will get that kind of attention from me now. Colleen had Squash Ravioli there and it was her favorite meal of the trip. New CG is very very good.

Isn't this the trend with Disney lately, keep raising prices while you don't improve anything ?

Pretty soon Disney is going to be for the upper middle class and the wealthy only.

The hotel, food and ticket prices just keep going up and up !

...and we all keep paying it.

Our trips are becoming rarer and rarer. I can easily see a time when the kids are older and we just stop going. It is entirely possible our next trip - which is unschedule but won't be for at least a couple maybe a few years - will be our last. I'd be surprised to go more than two times in the next ten years.

Heck, I may not have more than two more WDW trips in me the way things are going.

Someone is paying the prices because the place is always booked solid. I so far have not and probably never will step foot into LeCellier again once they went signature, that was the end. Their food and service simply is not worth the price, but that restaurant still seems to have people lined up waiting to get in. I can go to Shula's for about the same price and leave much happier or go over to Emeril's in City Walk or Todd English's Blue Zoo again for about the same price and get superior food and service.

There are a lot of pixie dust addicts out there. But if Disney keeps fleecing them, the herd will eventually thin out. Good luck turning the tide once that starts to happen.

I never thought Le Cellier was any better than the Longhorn. I've always preferred Longhorn...and it is cheaper.

I always liked that that everyone just HAD to eat there, though. Much rather have people clambering to get into a place I have no interest in visiting than competing with me for places I do want to eat. :)

I am with you on this. We used to spend at least 2 weeks every year and sometimes as many as 30 days in a calendar year in WDW. We really love it and had so much fun as a family with memories that will last forever. My daughter is now in high school and we refuse to pull her out during school and when she is off from school then WDW is too busy for us to really enjoy. I do not see us going back for another 3 years and with the way prices have been increasing for food, tickets and rooms then we may not go back. The next time we go under the Disney World arch may be with grand kids and that should be another 15 years away yet.

Instead of spending all of my money going to the parks for all these years and spent it buying stock in the company then I would have been retired by now living next to WDW and going whenever I wanted. Instead I put all of my money into visiting the parks and the investors and executives are retiring early. :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Did Yachtsmans last trip because we had an extra dinner credit on meal plan due to a very late check in. I have also checked the menu at Le Cell- Disney food is not worth what they charge. Shula's or a quick I-Drive trip to Ruth's Chris if I want a good steak.

Yachtsman is definitely superior to LeCellier. At least the last time I was there which was 4 years ago.

This is true. My husband and I are going to Florida to spend Christmas with my parents (they're down there for a few months) and we decided to take a 2 day stopover in Disney.

The 2 day tickets without park hopper were $391.88. My soul wept. I still handed over my credit card though. And bought Xmas Party tickets. And made 3 ADRs.

And made a mental note to drink my weight in margaritas at La Cava.

There is something deeply wrong with me.

Just saw a recent menu from this month for Le Cellier, and it looks like the prices have gone up yet again!!

Filet Mignon 44, Ribeye 56, New York Strip 44, Sirloin 40, Halibut 37, Veal 40, Chicken 35, Venison 42,,,,the cheapest thing is some kind of veggie couscous for 27. Who do they think they are kidding. They want rid of anyone not on the dining plan I take it. I know its been an all day same menu as well for awhile now, but Disney has made it impossible to dine here. Those are insane prices, at night or something for a nice dinner or occassion I can understand maybe. But this use to be our favorite for lunch. Before it became signature they had a lunch menu that while still was high it was well worth it and fairly doable. This is even higher now yet again than a couple months ago.

These are REAL steakhouse prices, And frankly poor quality steaks and reheated side dishes are not worth this kind of money LC is now Darden quality at best and needs to be charging half the asking price. Shula's it is for next steak at Disney

We still after years don't get such the bad rep these boards give LC! LC is up to par with any other high end steak places we have been to at the same very expensive price point. We personally have never has a less than excellent meal there every trip!!! We travel to other places in the US and always eat at some high end restaurants so we know good food! LC is still up there for us and definitely not in the same category as Longhorn!!! We will be back in Dec just like last Dec and it is our fave meal on property still! :hungry::hungry:

LC is not on a par with 'high end' steakhouses, Ruth Chris just scrapes the bottom of 'High End', But I've had better steaks in texas roadhouses which are 200 miles from nohwhere.

I don't consider LC bad - but it's product is no better than any Darden chain restaurant and is priced about 2x what it should be priced at. My favorite was the cheddar soup - but having recipe I can make at home and not have to deal with a loud overcrowded dining experience which costs more than it's worth.

I was not talking about Ruth Chris's as being one of the "high end" places we have been. I'm talking about other higher end steakhouses/restaurants not chains like Ruth Chris's which we have the original here in my lovely state. We have spent over $200 on a meal easily just the 2 of us when we splurge during our travels. We will just agree to disagree as LC is right on par with the places we have splurged on and NOTHING like lower end chains you mentioned. Not even close. :)
