Le Cellier, Canadian Steakhouse

Well today is my dating anniversary with my fiance, (not to mention Walt and Lilly's wedding anniversary). Thursday we are going to play in the parks to celebrate and are going to have lunch at Le Cellier. I found a menu online and it looks great. Has anyone eaten there? What did you think? Good wine choices? If you have eaten there for lunch let me know exactly what you thought about it...

thanks for replying.

OK, I'll try this again as AOL must be mad at me.

I have eaten lunch at Le Cellier three times since May 03. Each time I asked for and got a booth at Nova Scotia  (Beats tables as it is out of the way  )

I used to get the 7oz Filet with Maple BBQ :D but that is no longer available at lunch (diner only now). I did not like the Grilled something Filet they have at lunch now. :lookaroun

I am not much of a wine drinker. I had Molson the first two times and of course that is also no longer available :( They now serve Moosehead and something else.

My new restaurant of choice for lunch is Liberty Tree at MK. The Clam Chowder soup is very good  and I chose the Pilgrims Feast which is Roast Turkey. I know turkey sounds bland but this was great and they give you so much you can not finish it

Oops sorry, where are my manors  Happy anniversary

Oops again, I am on an oops roll. The "booths" have a booth bench type seat up against a wall. Normal tables are then in front of you and chairs accross from the bench type seats. There are six tables as I recall but you get two and so there will be up to two other groups of 4 max in the booth area. Depending on crowds and the time you go you may end up having the "booth" area all to yourself. Romantic.

My husband and I ate there about two years ago. You have made a great choice for a romantic dinner. As I remember the setting is intimate and the lighting dim(but not to dim). Another romantic detail is the walk through the garden as you approach the entrance. The meal was wonderful. I would choose a steak since that is their specialty, my filet melted in my mouth!! I can't comment on the wine, we not big drinkers, but overall the experience was great.

My husband and I ate there a few trips ago and the food was excellent. I don't remember specifically what we had, other than the cheddar cheese soup, which was outstanding. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Happy anniversary!

We've eaten at Le Cellier twice, both for lunch and neither time were we disappointed. As stated earlier, you must try the cheddar cheese soup, and the breads stick are excellent, especially the pretzel bread.

Neither of us are big drinkers, but it did seem that they have a nice wine selection.

The sandwiches were good as were the larger entrees (we've had both). Not to mention, if you still have room, the desserts were delicious!

On our honeymoon we wen tthere just as the restaurant opened and had the place nearly to ourselves, very romantic.

ENJOY!!

Le Cellier is probably one of the best restaurants in World Showcase!!! I have eaten dinner there several times although never lunch ( I will be this Sunday though!!) I usually go for the 7 oz Filet mignon which is always awesome. The Salmon also is wonderful. I have had a Sweet Reisling type of wine there which was wonderful. If I drink especially with dinner it is usually wine, and this one was nice. Light and sweet, not too harsh especially if you arent used to wine. Ask your server for a suggestion. That is how we got this great wine!!! You will love it!!! Belle

I had dinner there in April, I enjoyed it.

I had the Chedder Cheese Soup and the Maple Glazed Salmon, both were good. The Pretzel Bread is much better than most Preztel Breads I have tried.

The service was very good, and the ambiance is nice.

Le Cellier is one of our favorite places for dinner, enjoy! Although, I would not suggest that anyone go after 8pm. Our two experiences with a late night dinner there have not been the greatest.

Happy Aniversery!
Just curious. How do the prices differ between Liberty Tree and Le Cellier? We ALWAYS eat at Liberty Tree. But a change would be nice.

Well we finally went back to Le Cellier after quite a few years, this past trip. We went at lunch and let me tell you it is now a Not To Be Missed resturant on our list. At lunch they have Steak Burgers and let me tell you that it was the SINGLE BEST CHEESEBURGER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! That coupled with excellent fries and 3 kinds of wonderful bread. My mother also got some sort of chicken breast platter that she said was wonderful. I cannot reccomend this place (for lunch at least) high enough.

Great choice! It is on our must stop list. :slurp:

They have a beefsteak tomato stack for a appetizer and it is awesome. The pretzle bread is also out of this world. I also had a steak and it was tender and cooked perfect. As far as the wine (my favorite part) I had a cabernet or 2 that was fantastic. The all around feel is great for a anniversary dinner. It has a very romantic feel dim lighting and great atmosphere.

Happy Anniversary!

Great choice

My wife and I ate there immediately following my proposal to her (and her acceptance) during Illluminations. We'd been there before, so I knew that she loved it, and that it is a special place for both of us. We've been back several times since, and we've always really enjoyed our meals. As I recall, the wine list is good (not great, like Portobello Yacht Club) and includes some special selections that might be worth a try. We had a Niagra, NY wine that our server suggested, and it was a fun change of pace. I'm sure that you'll enjoy. (P.S. We usually make sure we're seated prior to Illuminations, get our wine, then run out for the show, and return for a relaxing post-show dinner).

I have only done lunch at Liberty Tree as that is basically "adult time" (Diner is a Character meal). Prices are lower at LT but the menu is much different than LC. Check the menus on All Ears.

You get hugh amounts of food at LT and it is excellent.

As Belle said the 7oz filet at LC is to die for but it is no longer available at lunch.

Romance wise LC hands down. Just go for the booth at Nova Scoita.

We enjoyed our first trip here last month.Everytime we have gone before we could not get in! We had lunch and just from the suggustions on this board enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup for the first time!! This is excellent!!! The atmosphere is very cozy and romantic. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, by the way! The server was also excellent! She even went out of her way to call the animal kingdom to see if they sold elephant ears for us!! This is one of the best dining experiences we have had at Epcot! Please enjoy!!!
