Last Tour to Endor - Hard Ticket Event

I don't think it is deceptive. It is more of a case of people reading something into it that is not there. No where in the add does it claim that this is the last time to ride it or that it will close on 8/15/2010. The event coincides with Celebration V for one simple reason....to sell the sucker out. People will be coming to Orlando for C5 from all over the world and they will be more than willing to shell out $75 for this event.

You don't think it was meant to suggest this was your last chance to ride?

I agree, if you read carefully, it never says it is. But as many people jumped to the same conclussion, I think it was (intentionally or otherwise) mis-leading.

The idea crossed my mind but once I red the copy on the add it was clear that that was not the case. Regardless of that it looks like a fun event....kind of a SWW on steroids. Is it priced a bit on the high side?....sure but pretty much everything Star Wars related is.

I really want to do this, especially since we're already down there during that time for our August trip. There will be so much to do in August... MS Electrical Parade, Summer Nightastic Fireworks Spectacular, New TSMM Game, Lotso at DHS, Captain EO, etc.

How quickly do you think this will sell out?

Interestingly, the : The Weekend folks have "Admiral Ackbar's 'it's a Wrap' Star Tours Farewell Celebration - Star Tours group ride" scheduled for 3:45 PM 29 August.

Ouch.

How I wish I could be there for this finale. One final geek-out before the ride goes prequel trilogy crazy. I'm one of the crazy ones who thinks filmed physical models always feel more "real" than pure CGI.

Yes, I understand that the world has long since passed me by. :)

Okay, this is off topic, but is Star Tours II going to be based on Episodes I-III? Because if that is so, I am going to be majorly bummed for the rest of the day.

Did a search and didn't see this mentioned.

Hmm....:drevil:

I wonder if I can talk my honey into an extra day at Disney? I am more interested in seeing the fireworks than anything else. This could be a lot of fun. :)

They just IMPLY IT HEAVILY. You know it's a con if isn't actually the last day. It's called THE LAST TOUR TO ENDOR for pete's sake.

I'm super #*^%(!*^#$ that they're selling out the last day like this. I told them they should celebrate it, not pay people to see what they love one last time, and con the money out of their pockets for overcooked cookies and fireworks.

C'mon Disney. Admit if this is or isn't the actual last day (They probably don't want it to be, but won't admit it for fear of slumping ticket sales and angry ticket buyers demanding to be the last.) or do the RIGHT thing and have a free public last day, with merchandise available.

No one is absolutely sure, but the current theory is that there will be elements from the entire saga. The tiny fragments of concept art we've seen show prequel locales like Naboo and Coruscant, but we've also seen the second Death Star.

There will definitely be at least some prequel elements: the 3D announcement teaser at the D23 Expo was a pod racing sequence.

Somewhere in the giant thread devoted specifically to this ride is a photo of Lucas et al. allegedly discussing the attraction, with concept art behind them.

Does anyone know exactly how much of DHS is going to be open and operating for our enjoyment that night? I have tickets in hand, but I would love to know if rides other than Star Tours will be operational that night. I would think that they would be, but I would like to know a bit more. I appreciate any info that can be shared about this here on the boards.

TIA
