I can neither confirm nor deny this statement, only hope you are SERIOUSLY incorrect.
By the way, I'll get right on that Land Balloon Project I promised a while back. Does anyne have a close up pictue of one (preferrably the main one with the cloud) or blueprint or something? I have no Idea what the details look like. Thanks!

I have extensive footage of the Land's interior as well as photographs. I will get them to you.

The forum member said that they were removed today. . . and I'm assuming it's permanent.

(Darn. I was planning taking footage of the paviloin at night. :( )

I hate it how Disney has let the Land fall apart in the past months. . .

Whoah, I'd think it would take a while to take them out, scaffolding, etc. Not something I would imagine they could do overnight...could be wrong, though.

It seems easy enough - getting rid of some wires.

We all knew the balloons were out. I assumed it would be during the rehab.

I was planning my formal goodbye later this month, dang it. :(

Someone should call the ASPCA, they wounded a Grizzly Bear :p

A famous quote from a great attraction, "That's Progress!"

Sorry about the balloons, but that was pretty much expected. Unfortunately, they took them out sooner than believed.

Are the hang gliders up yet?

I'm sad about the balloons. At least i got my last goodbye to Sunshine Season (amazing food), the fountain (i wonder if my house is big enough?) and, yes, the balooons. I'll miss the Land. Coming Soon- The Travel Agency!

NOOOOOOO!!!

*raises toast to the balloons*

May you be remembered as the quintessance of The Land experience, the harmony and symbiosis, the balance between the seasons and the balance between ourselves and nature. May your spirit live on in the new pavilion, in some way, shape, or form, and may the glory of EPCOT be regained!

To the balloons...

Yep, they put up a huge Christmas tree ( and all the extra decorations) in the main area of Wilderness Lodge overnight when we were there a couple of years ago. Walked out of our room the next morning overlooking the balcony and bam...theres a ridiculously large Christmas tree. And they did it with vitually no loud noise.

I think they could get the balloons down.

And to think that tomorrow was to be my final venture into The Land before January 2nd....

Perhaps there's still hope though, and they could still be there.....I'll just have to check it out for myself tomorrow afternoon.

Well, I am grateful for the photos I have w/my DD snacking away under the balloons. I will really miss them. For us, they reminded us of the special "balloon elevator" at St.Louis Children's Hospital in the eatting area. For anyone who has had to spend any length of time at SLCH, going to the cafeteria was always a great escape, and going to land at Disney would remind us how lucky we are, how grateful we are to all those at SLCH who helped us when our first child was born....ah, I digress, balloons, you will be missed but not forgotten....
