Kona vs 'Ohana

Hello All,

My fiance wants to eat at one of the Poly restaurants on our next trip (Dec. :)). Any thoughts betweek Kona and 'Ohana?

For reference:
We're both in our late 30's
Don't mind some noise, but don't want to have a "lean and yell" conversation at diner
Have decent appetites
Not very picky
Our other sit downs during the trip will be at Boma, Tutto and Teppan Edo

Thanks!

Ohana can be loud at times so I would go with Kona. I would have to say that the food is pretty even, although obviously you get more at Ohana. You will not go wrong with either choice.

'Ohana is better for dinner.
Kona Cafe is way better for breakfast. Don't miss the Tonga Toast!

'Ohana will get a little noisy every so often over the course of the evening due to the kids activity, but otherwise it's not loud. The food is awesome, especially considering you get as much as you want. Absolutely nothing wrong with Kona Cafe, though. I would say the overall ambient noise level there is probably higher because it is very open to the rest of the Great Ceremonial House (the main building) and it's right next to the Monorail station.

My family ate at Ohana last December and if I remember correctly there was quite a bit of sound. There's also some entertainment in the restaurant during that time so if you're looking for something a little quieter I would go with Kona (although I'm not sure how quiet any restaurant will be during the holidays). I love the food at Kona.

I am a big fan of Ohana. My husband and I always ate there on our one "grown-up" night when the kids were small. We were often lucky enough to sit near the windows that look out on the MK; if you time it right, you could be there for the fireworks! Kona is great, but I think the atmosphere at Ohana is better, especially if you are there a little on the late side. I don't find it too noisy, either.

They're both great restaurants, so I'd make your decision based on menus.

I am not much of a meat eater and I especially don't like spicy foods so though I love the atmosphere at 'Ohana, I end up just eating a bowl of mac n cheese from the kids menu because I don't like any of the food. Kona cafe, though, has the absolute best dinner I've ever had in my life, followed by the best dessert I've ever had in my life. I think about the food there all the time.

I have never eaten at Kona, but I have eaten at Ohana's for breakfast & dinner & they were both GREAT!!!
Dinner at Ohana's on our most recent trip was the best meal during the entire trip!
I would highly recommend it if you enjoy shrimp & steak.
They serve a pineapple, coconut bread that was delicious & I am not a fan of pineapple.
The atmosphere was great too.

Kona.

The food is so, so good, the portions are quite reasonable (I don't think I've ever finished a meal there) and it's busy, but more manageable in terms of noise.

Hope this helps.
