Kodak leaving the Imagination pavilion?

Well, it seems like all the signs lead to this conclusion. These were already strong rumors, and the cast members that told me this were sure 100%.
The only thing we need now is the official news that may come at the end of July. For me these are signs of change.

While I definitely agree that Kodak is probably on their way out, I don't think that cast member rumors and a sponsorless sign are "official confirmation"...

So Disney covering up the area that says presented by Kodak doesnt make it official to you:rolleyes: or could it be that the word Kodak was fading and it looked ugly so they covered it up:lol:

Yes, Kodak is leaving. But this is not a rumor anymore!
It has finally been confirmed.

Look here: KODAK LEAVING EPCOT, not a rumor anymore.

And here's the picture featured in the article:

So, what can we expect??
Is the Imagination Pavilion going to end up like Wonders of Life, or there's already a new sponsor?

Um... you do realize that sign didn't say "Presented by Kodak". It said "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" underneath like the one for The Land lists Soarin'. So in reality, this confirms that Disney is trying to include Captain EO in all it's signage, but nothing else.

Kinda a fail thread...

I was just going to add that. This is the farthest thing from a confirmation I have ever seen. I wouldn't exactly consider that blog a credible source either since it is written by the OP.

Kodak IS leaving! I'm surprised that you don't see that...
Maybe yes, it said HISTA in the bottom, but KODAK is definitely leaving.

And thank you for supporting new threads .
I thought I made a good guess saying there was the Kodak sign on it...

So what confirmation do you have other than a comment from a CM and a blog post that you wrote and linked to? Glad to see you updated your misinformation about the sign. I just don't see how this proves anything.

I've been over to that pavilion a lot lately (seen Captain EO 8 times so far since it re-opened) and there is no indication that Kodak is leaving at this point. Disney and Kodak have had a long relationship over the years and it seems unlikely that they are just going to pack up and leave the pavilion they've sponsored since 82. All the signage involving Kodak is still up. The only thing that's interesting is the one exhibit in Imageworks that apparently closed down. That might just be because it wasn't a great idea to put there, or because Kodak didn't want to waste the money paying someone to run it. No matter what the reason, it's not enough of an indication to prove that Kodak is leaving. Once I see the "Presented by Kodak" signage removed, then I will believe. Until then, chalk it up as a rumor and nothing more.

They may be leaving, they may not be, but either way, your article using that photo confirms nothing, as the sign in question never actually mentioned Kodak. All the signs that do mention Kodak still mention Kodak. Also, in the vast majority of cases, the frontline Cast Members have no information as to what is going on at the corporate level, which is where the sponsorship decision would be made,

Yes, I updated it, because you were right about the sign, thanks.
But I can't understand why you don't believe it.

The two cast member seemed very credible. I am aware that CM's are not always 100% reliable, but those seemed so sure!!

And about the KODAK ads, they have a whole month to get rid of them...

HOWEVER, the Captain EO pre-show doesn't feature any Kodak advert.
(whereas Disneyland's does)

I understand that, but why those cast members then told me that? Again, they looked like they knew everything! Sorry if this ends up being a big mistake, but I was sure...

As a CM myself, I can tell you first hand that we hear at least as much rumors as everyone else, if not more. I've heard so many rumors that have started with a CM telling another CM their manager told them this. This could be another one of those rumors. I have also worked in the Imagination pavilion a month or so ago and there was nothing indicating Kodak leaving the pavilion then.

So once again, there is nothing substantial to prove this besides the classic "he said she said" routine.

There is a very simple reason why I don't believe it. There is no actual proof. I'm sorry, but I don't buy into internet rumors that supposedly come from "a very credible CM." Front line CMs are usually the last to know. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want but presenting things as fact (without any real proof) is very misleading in my opinion.

Yes, but it does mention Kodak in the retro pre-show... twice.

It also could just be that Kodak no longer has a presence in the pavilion, but is still the sponsor. GM for instance is still the sponsor of Test Track, but they no longer have their V.I.P. lounge because they are paying the minimum to remain a sponsor. Kodak could be doing the same thing.
