kissing the characters

Not to go against what you said, but Aladdin kissed you on the lips? The Characters are trained not to kiss any guests on the lips...that's really strange. I'm not saying you're a liar or anything, but it's just weird hearing something like that...

Trust me, it surprised the heck outta me. I didn't know whether to be flattered or worried enough to report him. :veryconfu

What do you mean by that? Was Jasmine with Aladdin when he "kissed" you? I doubt that a character would use a guest to meet their "needs". Especially when they were out on set.

lol, I was joking about the "needs" thing. I was just referring to the fact that they were men, and men do often take things a bit too far. (Michael Jackson, for instance? ;) Joke)

Jasmine was right behind him, by the way. And again I say, trust me, it surprised the crapola out of me. Read above paragraph in my post.

In my experience, I have found women tend to exhibit that trait. The evidence is clearly demonstrated on this forum.

 Excuse me?

I seriously hope that was intended as a joke and not as gender discrimination.

Either way...

When you say it, it's fine. When I say it, it's "gender discrimination".

Yes, yes, that's true.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was being discriminatory.

Let's just call it even and go back to the point of this thread...which was...oh, yeah, kissing characters. :)

Wow, that's an interesting comment, i'd have to say women also take things too far at times...being friends with Pluto, i've had more "instances" with women than men. Don't forget what Drew said too, most of the male characters don't have their needs met by women anyways

Hehehe, I ALWAYS kiss the princesses on the hands, and most of them are "friends" with some of my friends so it gets kind of funny! There is a certain Snow White (did I say certain Snow White as in certaiin person?!! I meant on certain days, Snow White) who if you tell her your going to have an apple she gives this great speach! :king:

I'm very picky about who I kiss. I always kiss Mickey on the nose.

In Disneyland when I kissed Chip and not Dale they got in a funny little fight about it.

Lol, I have some great pictures of me and my friend kissing characters. Every time we go we get a picture of us on each side of Peter Pan, Aladdin, and Tarzan (though we didn't see Tarzan last time) kissing them on the cheek. I wouldn't mind seeing Aladdin away from the watchful G-rated eyes of the parks, though :lookaroun

On our son's make-a-wish trip Snow White kissed him and left her lip imprints on his cheek. He got such a kick out of it!! Then all the other princesses kissed him pretending to be jealous and left lipstick prints all over his face. And since that time we always ask Snow White to give him a kiss on the cheek or forehead.

You are correct. I am sure they get sick quite often. Mid 1990s we were at WDW and one night went to the Adventurer's Club and I was pulled on stage by some girl in a maids costum. She sat on my lap and sang to me and kissed me several times in the process. I did no know it at the time but found out two days later I had strep throat which there is a very good chance she came down with shortly after.

As far as kissing the characters, my daughter has done it but we try to stop her now. I was only kissed by Bo Peep in the MGM parade when she hooked me with her staff or whatever you call it.

You are missing my point here. People that have a lot of public "hands on" contact (such as EMT's, Police, Fire, etc.) need to be up to date on their vaccinations. It is just common sense for them to be protected against diseases that could cause them serious harm or death. I would extend that protection to Disney characters that routinely have to be touched, kissed and suffer other assaults.

They have no choice in dealing with guests in very close encounters. Some of those guests will undoubtedly be infected with communicable diseases such as mumps, measles, chickenpox, TB, hepatitis B, influenza, the common cold virus, polio, etc. WDW gets visitors from all over the world.

So, the point is, I don't worry about it and neither should the average guest at WDW. It's very unlikely that you would be infected by "the turnstiles, my tickets handled by germy hands, my ride restraint, or CHARACHTERS". Don't worry. However, the CM's that have to come in direct contact with hundreds of guests and shake their hands, get kissed, hugged and other "stuff", are in danger if they are not protected against the known communicable illnesses.
