Kingdom Keepers 3: Disney in Shadow

NOW I understand why all of these "accidents" are happening in WDW, it's the Overtakers! :animwink:

Don't believe me? Look here, there was a "dragon" spotted over the castle yesterday morning:

Actually, these are the remnant smoke trails from the shuttle launch yesterday morning at Cape Canaveral. But the second one does look interesting, if not a little eery.

I saw this for sale in the Magic Kingdom last week. I remember thinking to myself, "I never even knew there was a second one." Hopefully it was better than the first Kingdom Keepers.

The first book was good... I find it odd that Disney would be selling a book before it even comes out...

Oh and

It was unofficially released last Monday. I found out about it over the weekend and picked my copy up on Saturday at BN. I just need to open it and start to read it though. It was supposed to be released yesterday.

These books are a guilty pleasure of mine. :D
I'll pick this one up when I get some free time. Hopefully next week.

I'll agree that the writing leaves a little to be desired, however, I do keep in mind that I am much above the target age for the books. They are a fun read and let me have a Disney fix whenever I need one. Can't wait to pick up the third book!

Hey just heard about these books are they interactive, I mean do you read the book then go into the park and find clues and stuff to battle the Villians? If so This will be great for my daughter were going to be on a long road trip to Disney World in June

I am almost done reading #3 and it is pretty good...I really enjoyed the Disney fix and on our recent trip we all referenced a few things from the previous books as plausible...we were wary of the IASW AA's and pondered if Escher's Keep was truly in Cinderella's Castle and if anyone would come zooming out into the moat....:D Oh thought of imagineer Wayne possibly peeking out the apartment...:animwink:.

I was happy to go to the Kingdom Keepers site and see 5 books are planned...and as of now NO movie is in the works according to Ridley under the FAQs. But that would be awesome....:king:

Just finished reading the third book last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I will say that the editing wasn't the best. I picked up on many mistakes throughout the book, such as Maybeck switching to Philby halfway through a scene when Philby wasn't supposed to be there. Just something I noticed.

Any Figment? Only thing that would make me care about this series.

There is no Figment, sadly. :(
However, they do go into the WOL Pavilion and explore it multiple times. :)

The funny part about that is even the author can not understand why disney would close a whole pivilian and not do anything with it.

The author lives in my town. :D

But to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the books. There were several times where some aspects of WDW seemed to be confused with DL. Like he mentioned that Walt's apartment was on Main Street, but Walt's main street apartment is at DL, not WDW.

Yeah, that lack of research is one of the reasons why I don't really pay attention to the series. And the teenager characters that kinda make it into the written equivalent to the crud on Disney Channel.

If it was more of a "Kingdom Hearts, but set in the parks" type of deal with more of a Disney character focus using WDW as one massive backdrop for adventure, things would be different.

Well er....I always thought it was referenced as Wayne's apartment on Main Street....but been awhile since I read others....my imagination can handle it being otherwise....gives the Imagineer Wayne a reason to be there so much....has a place to crash. I thought it mentioned the castle as the site for Walt's apt that never was but I could be wrong....:lookaroun....my kids thought the fairlies aspect was kind of odd....I guess I kind of bypassed the teenage stuff for the main idea....but that is whom it was written to please anyhow...:animwink:.

The Apartment on Main Street in the book is Wayne's. Disney's Apartment was in the Castle (Where the Cinderella Suite is now, in reality)

He did however unexplicably confuse ride names from Disneyland and WDW, such as Buzz Lightyear. He frequently calls it Astro Blasters, which it is called in DL, but in WDW it's Space Ranger Spin.

The only thing I don't like that he did is he frequently refers to Wayne as the last living Imagineer who knew Walt personally which isn't true at all. I think that's sort of rude, actually.

He was far better researched in 2, and hopefully he continues that trend in 3.

The only thing that really bugged me about being inaccurate about the third book was...*Spoiler Alert*....he said that the Dragon in Fantasmic was supposed to be Chernabog. Isn't it actually Maleficent? I'm pretty sure....
