Jiminy’s Journal- Olympus Coliseum

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive just in time to save Megara from Nessus, who had kidnapped her. They defeated him and rescued Meg. She explained that some time ago, the Coliseum had been overtaken by the darkness. Hercules is protecting the city of Thebes, as Phil coaches him. They decide to head out to the city to see how things are doing.

Upon arriving in the city, chaos ensues, as destruction flies rampant by the ravaging Heartless. The team comes to the rescue, alongside Hercules. They are led to the new Coliseum, where they participate in a new competition, hosted by Phil.

In the midst of the competition, Cerberus attacks the team, who fights back. At the conclusion of the battle, Cerberus falls and the team is the victor. Hercules, Meg and Phil congratulate the team and offer them consolation for their great job. They promise to check back often for new competitions and to check up on them.

In the midst of all the victory, Hades seems to be plotting something.

When arriving in Olympus Coliseum, they found that the city was under a lot of attacks by the Heartless. Hercules informed them that Hades had been wrecking havoc among Thebes and together, they head over to the Coliseum, where they met up with Phil, Megara and Pegasus.

Suddenly, Hades appeared and sent the Coliseum plummeting down into the depths of the Underworld, where Sora and Hercules endured many trials and tribulations. They fought against Pain and Panic, Medusa and the Centaur, before finally reaching Hades, who after a treacherous fight, ended up retreating further into the Underworld.

The night sky of Thebes was illuminated with stars, as the town could finally settle down for a little while. Hercules was respected as a hero and Sora was acknowledged for his strength of heart. Sora is a true hero.

Jiminy’s Journal- Mysterious Tower

It appears that Master Yensid has summoned the arrival of Sora, Donald and Goofy. When they arrived, they reunited with King Mickey, who was just as happy to see them. Yensid explained that the tower had no darkness persuaded on it whatsoever, so not an enemy was in sight. The reason why he brought them there was because he had discovered a new world.

Sora, Donald and Goofy ventured into this world and sealed the keyhole, per Yensid’s request. Yensid was eternally grateful to them and perhaps, even gained a new apprentice.

Master Yensid had discovered this new, mystical world of music and had put Sora, Donald and Goofy, along with the help of King Mickey, in charge of finding what lied within this world. This world was a symphony of music.

Within each section of the world, the team experienced new wonders, a frenzy of changing lights, a mass of butterflies and bats in a world of light and darkness, a dance battle between a Hippo, an alligator, an ostrich and an elephant, and the lovely vegetation, which a beautiful Sprite could bring to a barren wasteland. Even King Mickey had his share of fun and fantasized what life would be like as the ultimate sorcerer!

Once each section of the world was completed, the keyhole was revealed and Sora sealed it.

Jiminy’s Journal- Monstropolis

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in Monstropolis, a world inhabited by monsters. They meet up with Mike and Sulley, two monsters who work at Monsters Inc. Mike is training Sulley to be top scarer. In Monstropolis, power is maintained by children’s screams, which fill these canisters.

They make their way to the Headquarters, where they meet Celia, Waternoose, Roz and Randall, among a few others. During the scaring, the Heartless break out and the team fights them. During the chaos, Sulley escapes, followed by a young girl, who they nickname Boo. They take her to Mike’s Apartment, where they disguise her as a monster.

Mike has a date with Celia, but Boo crashes the date, sending the monsters felling in terror. A huge Heartless monster appears, but the team makes quick work of it. Afterwards, Mike, Celia, Boo and Sulley thank the team for defeating the monster. The keyhole is revealed and Sora seals it.

Sora, Donald and Goofy returned to Monstropolis, which was under light attacks from the Heartless. They had wanted to see Mike and Sulley to catch up with them, so they headed towards the Headquarters. Inside, Celia pointed them in the right direction.

On the Scare Floor, Waternoose had stated that he would set things right, but shortly after that, Randall appeared and snatched Boo, revealing that Waternoose knew of the scheme the entire time. Waternoose pushed Mike and Sulley through one of the doors, telling Randall to shred it, but Randall had other things to surpass: Sora, Donald and Goofy.

After a battle, Randall was about to attack, but Sulley and Mike busted through the doors, startling Randall. Sulley grabs Boo and they head for the Door Vault. In the maze of doors, Randall was about to attack Sulley, but Boo prevented that. Sulley threw Randall into one of the doors, which closed and unhinged itself, falling to the ground and smashing, preventing Randall from returning.

While confronting Waternoose, they tricked him into revealing his attentions, which was broadcasted to all of Monstropolis. Roz bursted in and revealed that she was a part of the CDA. Waternoose was arrested and taken way. Sulley and Mike said goodbye to Boo, who returned to her room. Afterwardsm Boo’s door was shredded. Jiminy’s Journal- Dark Rainforest

Upon arriving at Dark Rainforest, the team meets Bagheera, a panther, and Mowgli, a small boy who’s been raised by Bagheera is entire life. Bagheera states that he’s taking Mowgli to the man village because the man-eating tiger, Shere Khan has returned and it’s no longer safe for Mowgli to be out in the jungle. The team assists them on their journey.

Along the way, they encounter Kaa, a hypnotizing snake, who tries to devour Mowgli and a stampede of elephants who allow Mowgli to participate in their patrol. The entire time, Shere Khan spies on the team through the thick jungle. After a heated argument with Bagheera, Mowgli runs further into the jungle.

Shere Khan summons a great Heartless monster to take care of the team. However, the monster is inadvertently killed, when Baloo, a friendly bear, accidentally knocks a tree on it. The tree blocks passage to the man village, so Bagheera decides to bring Mowgli back to safety and return again later, along with Baloo, who whispers to Mowgli that he’ll promise not to bring him to the village. Sora, Donald and Goofy return to the Gummi Ship.

Sora, Donald and Goofy returned to the rainforest, where they reunited with Mowgli, Bagheera and Baloo. Bageera stated that now that Mowgli has met Baloo and learned of his lifestyle, Mowgli wants to stay in the jungle forever, unbeknownst to the various dangers out there. Soon after, a group of Heartless monkeys attack them and take Mowgli away.

After tracking down the Heartless, it is revealed that Mowgli was brought to King Louie, because he wanted to make a deal. King Louie persuaded that if Mowgli could tell him the secret of how to make fire, he would make it so that Mowgli could stay in the jungle forever. However, the team quickly came to Mowgli’s rescue and brought him back to the rainforest.

However, Shere Khan lurked through the jungle and confronted the team. After a viscous battle, Mowgli confronted Shere Khan with a blazing fire, made with Sora’s help. Afterwards, Mowgli was still unsure about going to the Man Village. However, he soon saw a young girl, by the name of Shanti, proceed to retrieve some water from the Watering Hole. Jiminy’s Journal- Port Royal

Upon arriving at Port Royal, Sora, Donald and Goofy reunited with Will, Elizabeth, Tia Dalma, Pintel, Ragetti and surprisingly, Captain Barbossa, who apparently turned over a new leaf. The whereabouts of Jack Sparrow remain unknown, so the group set out to rescue him from impending danger. The town soon went under attack by the Lord of the South China Sea, Sao Feng and his army.

After a brief compromise, the team set forth for Davy Jones’ Locker in an attempt to save Jack Sparrow. After a fight against the waves and the winds, they arrived and rescued Jack. They returned to the sea where, unfortunately, Sao Feng ambushed the team and a set of several compromises were made, none of them being enacted correctly. The team was forced into a fight with Feng and mortally wounded him. Through the midst of this all, Jack Sparrow successfully escapes the scene.

Davy Jones soon arrived on the scene, having kidnapped Elizabeth and the crew for only a brief period of time. Admiral Norrington released them, shortly before being killed by Bootstrap Bill Turner. They returned to the ship, where Sora sealed the Keyhole, still unaware of Jack Sparrow’s whereabouts.

The team arrives in the Town, where they reunite with Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Tia Dalma. They return to the Black Pearl, where they begin to discuss the topic of Davy Jones’ heart. Jack suggests he stab the heart, but then tosses Will overboard after giving him his compass, so Beckett can find Shipwreck Cove. Will is soon rescued by Beckett.

At Shipwreck Cove, the pirate lords present their "pieces of eight", but disagree over freeing Calypso. A war is soon on the horizon. Elizabeth is elected King and orders the pirates to war. During a parley with Beckett and Jones, Elizabeth and Barbossa swap Sparrow for Will after realizing Jack and Will plan to have Jack stab the heart. Barbossa steals Jack's "piece of eight". Barbossa uses the "pieces of eight" to free Calypso, who was bound within Tia Dalma. Her fury unleashes a storm, and the Dutchman and the Pearl battle. Sparrow escapes the Dutchman's prison and steals the Dead Man's Chest. Will proposes to Elizabeth and Captain Barbossa marries them in the midst of battle.

On the Dutchman, the battle continues, as the team fights Davy Jones. Will is mortally wounded by Jones. Upon seeing his son hurt, Bootstrap Bill attacks Jones. Sparrow places his dagger in Will's hand and helps Will stab Jones's heart, before he dies. Davy Jones dies and falls overboard. Jack and Elizabeth escape theDutchman, as the crew places Will's heart in the Dead Man's Chest. The ship disappears beneath the sea.

Beckett moves to attack the Pearl, however, the Dutchman resurfaces, with Will as the captain and the crew being turned back into their human forms. The Dutchman and the Pearl destroy the Beckett’s ship, the Endeavour, killing Beckett.

Will is bound to sail the sea as The Flying Dutchman’s captain. Elizabeth has one day with Will to consummate their marriage. Barbossa commandeers the Black Pearl, after leaving Jack, Sora, Donald and Goof in the town of Port Royal. Barbossa looks at his map for the new treasure he’s had his eye on, only to find that there is a huge hole in it.
Jack tells Sora, Donald and Goofy that they are a pirate crew , worthy of helping him on his next pillaging plot; finding the Fountain of Youth. He reveals Barbossa’s map.

The Unknown Region

Sora, Donald and Goofy have finally made it to the final world of the game. Riku and Kairi have to be somewhere in this world. Sora takes a deep breath, before continuing into the Steps of the Unknown.

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive at the base of the world. They stand on a cobblestone floor, behind them, the floor proceeds to crack and is split off, almost as if it was a cliff. Beyond, a vast vortex swirls. They’re on the very edge of the world, which is like a floating island in the middle of a vast space. Sora, Donald and Goofy review their mission. Find Riku and Kairi. Destroy Kriux. Make sure Kingdom Hearts is safe. Simple enough. Well, not exactly.

At the very end of the precipice, there is a save point. It would be a good idea to save your game now, for who knows what may lie ahead. After you’ve checked your equipment, stocked your items and checked your stats, prepare to head onwards, as it’s only the beginning of the end. Sora, Donald and Goofy head up the steps, towards the gate of the world. It suddenly strikes them that this place seems and looks so familiar, they just can’t tell why though. They proceed to the top of the stairs and through the gates of the world.

After moving through the gates, it suddenly hits them. This world used to be Traverse Town, but the Unknown had claimed it and darkness had spread across it, altering the world to suit a dark nature. The Unknown now reign over Traverse Town, as their home base. They arrive in the District of Darkness. Inside, they see that they’re suspended on a huge cobblestone island, where various debris and destroyed buildings remain. There’s a path which leads to further areas of the world.

All surrounding the path are several other shredded pieces of the world, seeming to float away into a dark purple abyss. The streetlamps are crooked and bent, illuminating noting but darkness. The quaint village building are shredded, torn to pieces, floating off into the unknown abyss. Buried in the center of the town is the Gizmo Shop bell. They continue to make their way through the town, when suddenly, a group of Unknown appear. Fight your way through the dark creatures, who have claimed this world.

After you have disposed of all of the enemies, you continue making your way across the dark district, continuing up the pathway into the next area of the dark world. They arrive in the Shadowed Alley, a confined, small alley, which seems to stretch for a mile. The alley lies completely in the shadows of the buildings lining it on both sides. A you make your way across the area, you suddenly find yourself fighting through a sea of Shadow Heartless.
They come at you from all angles and seem destined on making sure you will not pass. The enemies themselves are no match for you, but when they start mounting on each other and more and more start appearing, it can become a problem. Fight your way through the dark creatures until the entire alleyway has been cleared. You continue down the alleyway, which is actually much shorter than it looks.
At the opposite end of the path, you find the entrance to the large Mystical House, which formerly belonged to Merlin. However, now the house is in ruins, looking in terrible shape. The heavy wind blows the shutters on the windows rapidly, as debris is blown off the top of the house. Sora, Donald and Goofy enter inside the house, not only for shelter but to get away from the Heartless, as well.
Once they enter inside the Fort Entrance, they find that the inside has been completely cleared out and that there is a huge opening in the ground. Inside the opening, they see that it leads down a large, vast spiraling ramp, descending further into the darkness. Suddenly, there is a rattling on the door. Sora, Donald and Goofy draw their weapons, ready to attack the creatures bursting through.

Suddenly, King Mickey bursts through the door! What’s he doing here? King Mickey explains that he couldn’t let them fight the final fight without him! He says Chip and Dale responded back to Disney Castle with a signal from the Gummi Ship and he made his way over as soon as possible. King Mickey joins the three as a sidekick, ready to take on whatever may come their way. Sora, Donald, Goofy and King Mickey brace themselves, as they venture further into the bowels of the Unknown Region.

The team and the King descend down the spiraling ramp, as they fight the Unknown along the way. As they reach the bottom of the ramp, it empties out into the Connection Chamber. When the team looks around the chamber, they see various machinery. King Mickey states that this area must be where the Unknown are manufactured and created, using people’s hearts and consciences to create these viscous monsters. Various machines and tubes are seen everywhere. On the other side of the room, there is a sealed door.

Sora realizes that to put an end to the Unknown, he must destroy these machines, as well as the last three Unknown members. Sora unleashes his power on the machines, destroying them, sparks flying everywhere. The hearts and consciences inside are released, flying into the air and disappearing, back to their respective owners. Afterwards, the door on the other side of the room opens and Sora, Donald, Goofy and the King enter further. They leave the destroyed room behind.

Sora, Donald, Goofy and King Mickey arrive in the Data Chamber, where a save point is located. The room is lined with machines and computer equipment, monitoring the status of the hearts in the previous room. Now, the machines prove useless, after what Sora had just accomplished. Before proceeding further, head to the save point and save the game, things will be getting a bit bumpy from here on out. Sora knows that Riku and Kairi are nearby, he can just feel it.

The team enters the Traversed Farewell. They notice that the room behind them breaks off into nothingness. It feels as though they are now literally departing the Traverse Town-like area and entering something much more sinister. Before them, they see a vast mountain range, clouded in smoke. The dark orange mountains contrast against the dark purple sky. They themselves are on the precipice of a mountain, descending further down into a vast gorge. The start to head down the trail of the mountain, where more Unknown appear.

Upon reaching the base of the mountain, Raixik suddenly appears, the Unknown member who looks just like Kairi. Sora questions her saying what they’re doing. They said that they were using people’s hearts as a way to create these monsters. They were born from people who had strong hearts, but who had been swallowed in darkness at one point or another. Riku’s Unknown had claimed leadership over the group.

Their goal was to overrun the world with Unknown and destroy the Keyblade wielder, making sure nothing could stop them. Sora states that he thwarted their plans by destroying their machines. This sends Raixik into a rage, who then attacks the group.

-Boss: Raixik-

Raixik attacks with a Keyblade of her own, even though hers is just a data sample, nothing close to a real Keyblade. Raixik style of fighting is almost identical to that of Sora’s. The battle depends on the degree of difficulty. If Sora is well balanced and trained, the fight will be pretty rough, if Sora’s a bit on the weaker side, it’ll be easier.

Now, Sora has to watch out for Raixik’s combo move attacks. The player will be very familiar with Sora’s style of fighting right now, so the battle should be pretty predictable. Just watch out for Raixik and try to throw her off by counterattacking. Afterwards, the battle will be over.

Raixik slumps backwards, dropping her Keyblade to the ground, as it shatters. She falls to the ground, lifeless, as she disintegrates into the air. You could head back to the save point in the previous area if you wish. In fact, it would be a very good idea before continuing. Make your way back down Traversed Farewell and into the next area.

Sora, Donald, Goofy and the King arrive on The Cliffs, a vast expanse of mountainous range. Before them, they find…Kairi!? Kairi is overjoyed to see them all here and hugs Sora. She states that she’s been wondering around this strange place for awhile, but then, she fell asleep for a long period of time. She says that she thinks it had something to do with her heart, but everything’s fine now. They’re reunited again, all that’s left now is to find Riku.

The team fights their way across The Cliffs, destroying any Heartless that may get in their way. They descend further down until they reach The Gorge, a large area, similar to a canyon, where a variety of different Unknown appear, destined to stop Sora and the others from proceeding any further. Continue fighting your way through the monsters, before moving out of the vast area and into a small, enclosed Cavern.

In the Cavern, Sora, Donald, Goofy, King Mickey and Kairi move through the vast expanse of mysterious twisting, turning tunnels. The tunnels are meant to confuse and disorient, and they do just that. They make it seem like you’re walking in circles, but you could very well be heading in the right direction! To make matters worse, the cavern is completely dark and the sporadic appearance of the Unknown make the experience much more dazing.

They navigate through the cavern, before finding a small hidden cove in the corner of the cavern. They all brace themselves, before heading into the Descent Into Darkness. They leap down several rock ledges heading further and further to the core of the world. They jump down to the ground level of the attraction, where Leax suddenly attacks, claiming that this is the farthest that they are going to go!

-Boss: Leax-

Leax’s attacks are almost identical to Axel’s in Kingdom Hearts II. Leax will spread a circular flame barricading off the surrounding area. Leax covers the floor with magma, which slowly depletes the team’s HP, so try to stay in the air, gliding, while the attack is happening.

Then, Sora is capable of doing a reaction command, which deals damage to Leax and leaves him dazed afterwards. Run in and unleash a torrent of combos before he has the chance to recover. At the end of the battle Leax is defeated.

After the battle, Leax falls to his knees, slowly beginning to fade away. He completely fades, leaving no trace behind. They all make their way to the Waterway, where they descend into the water, before arriving on a patch of solid dark rock. Before them stands, Kriux, leader of all of the Unknown. He states that they have come a long way, but they don’t understand a thing about darkness and light and that soon enough, all of Kingdom Hearts will be his.

Suddenly, Riku’s voice appears out of nowhere and he encourages Sora not to give up hope! Sora unleashes his Ultima Weapon blade and heads right towards Kriux, who looks identical to Riku.

-Boss: Kriux-

The first battle with Kriux isn’t bad. He attacks with two Soul Eater weapons, the same weapon that Riku used. The battle is simple enough. Just deal a lot of combo attacks and take cover when it seems that Kriux is about to attack.

The battle will soon be over and Kriux heads to the back of the waterway, where he emits a glow from him, before disappearing behind one of the cavern walls, where the final room awaits. Sora looks around and notices something lying on the end, further along in the part of the cave. He leans closer and realizes that it is Riku!

He rushes to help Riku up. Riku is visibly hurt, but he’s ok. Sora is overjoyed to see Riku. It’s been almost four years and he can’t believe it’s really his best friend. Riku assures him that it’s really him and goes over to the rest of the group. He explains that years ago, he disappeared and ended up in this vortex, where he had turned into a Heartless. The Unknown members used his heart to create Kriux, knowing that Riku had a skill with dark powers. He was imprisoned, asleep for almost three years. Now, that Sora destroyed the machines, his heart was set free and he awoke. Riku is happy to be reunited with King Mickey and the others, as well.

Sora reaches over to the wall of rock. This looks so familiar. He wipes away the cluttered dirt on the rock wall and it reveals a beautiful mural of a moon. As he sees it, the mural begins to shine and a sun is illuminated. It’s so bright, just like the sun he used to see back on the islands. Now that both Riku and Kairi are with him, he’s determined to see that sun again.

Sora and the others head into the Room of Epiphany, the final save point area in the game. The room is completely made up of white rock, glowing intensely. It seems as though they are all wrapped in light. Make it worthwhile and save your game for the final time before continuing onwards. A very familiar doorway is seen on the opposite side of the room. King Mickey says that it’s time to set everything back to the way it used to be and to defeat this Riku-imposter, as Riku says it’s time to ensure Kingdom Hearts’ safety. Kairi says it’s time for all of them to return to the islands, as Donald and Goofy are ready for anything that lies ahead, they’ll be loyal to their friends forever!

All for one and one for all!

It’s time.
Time to ensure Kingdom Hearts’ safety.
Time to defeat the Unknown forever.
Time to return home to the islands.

Save your game and prepare for what lies ahead. You head to the door.

“This is the last haven you’ll find in this dark sanctum. Once you enter, you’ll be cascaded into a world of unknowing darkness. Those with hearts so pure will be able to conquer anything. Do you wish to continue?”

“Yes.”

“Remember Sora, you are the one who will open the door to the light.”

The door opens.

Sora and the others appear in a rocky canyon area, completely enclosed in on all sides by tall rock formations. Kriux stands in a stance ready to attack. Sora lunges at him and plunges into battle!

-Boss: Kriux II-

Kriux now attacks with super light speed. It seems he’s been saving up his energy since the battle. He lunges at the team, followed by a superior counter attack. He deals heavy damage, so do your best to stay unharmed. Either way, make sure you heal yourself and use items when it is necessary.

Kriux then uses an attack where, he’ll grow a light blue and shoot electric strings of lightning at you, while strill trying to attack you. Dodge roll out of the way, but don’t attempt to attack because Kriux is too fast! He’ll only end up attacking you, so keep your distance. After the onslaught of attacks, then is the prime opportunity to really attack Kriux. He won’t know what hit him!

After he’s lost about half of his HP, he’ll fly into the air and violently shoot across the battlefield, his Soul Eater flying straight at his victims. This attack is pretty hard to dodge, so brace yourself and prepare for the worst. Heal afterwards and continue the battle against Kriux. Just keep your safe distance away from him. After he’s finished an attack would be a prime time to move and deal some successful combos. You can always use Cure if your HP ever gets too low.

After the battle, Kriux lifts his hands and the entire battlefield rises into the sky, defying the laws of physics and gravity. The entire rocky formation moves towards the nighttime, dark sky, where a huge portal opens above the playing field. As the rocky formation moves upwards, the entire world is engulfed in a black smog, before proceeding to crack and separate in a fury of explosions. Traverse Town and The Unknown Region are no more. The dark portal absorbs them all.

They arrive in a dark abyss, where they are surrounded by a sea of Unknown creatures. In the floor, the insignia of a giant heart is imprinted into the darkness. Is this Kingdom Hearts? Has Kriux harvested its power to use it only for himself? We must save the heart of all worlds! Kriux states that the Unknown are his creations and that they obey him. The creatures begin to act reckless. He summons more creatures to appear, but is distraught at seeing that no more are appearing. Sora reveals that he may have destroyed the device used to create them, meaning that the only Unknown left throughout the universe are right in front of them. Kriux is sent into a rage.

-Boss: Kriux III-

This battle is much like the second battle with Kriux, however, Unknown monsters are now added to the occasion. Don’t battle the Unknown, there only meant to be a distraction for the true enemy of the battle. He’s only using them to keep you busy, but don’t fall for that! Attack Kriux dead on!

He’ll redo all of his attacks from the previous battle, only now, they’ll be twice as strong and he’ll be twice as quick. Soon enough, the battle will be over.

Xehanort encases himself in a shield that closes itself off on all sides. The ground beneath Sora, Donald and Goofy opens up, sending them further into the dark area. They descend down where a giant dark creature, waits. Sora draws out his Keyblade and flies towards, the monster ready to attack.

-Boss: Reaper-

This boss battle attacks with a huge scythe, ready to take Sora and the other down, but don’t let it determine you strength. He moves swiftly and glides against the floor, but besides attacking you with its massive weapon, there’s not much else that it can do.

Attack the monster’s body itself. The creature will try to snatch and claw at you, but it shouldn’t be a problem. If it does do a bit of damage, you can always heal yourself. You’re almost at the end now, don’t let something like this discourage you! Fight your way against the monster and it will soon fall to the power of the Keyblade.

After the fight is over, a portal opens, sending Sora, Donald and Goofy to a new room, filled with darkness to the brim. A monster is then seen, roaring ferociously at the team.

-Boss: Chained Destoyer-

This Unknown monster is the opposite of the one you just fought. It is chained to the wall, which seems to stretch out towards you, so it cannot move at all. However, the monsters attacks can literally pummel you and destroy you in four hits.

The monster attacks with its huge fists, hoping to pummel you right into the darkness-infested floor. Never attack this creature dead-on, that’s its strongest point. The best way to attack this creature is to attack from the sides. It will take a pretty long time to defeat this monster because combo attacks aren’t very effective, but magic and other special types of attacks work just as well.

The monster will then send a barrage of fist swing ahead of him. This is easily avoided because the monster lets out a massive roar before the attack, signaling Sora to move out of the way. If you’re hit once, it would be a good idea to heal yourself, just to be safe. The battle will soon be over.

After the battle, a cave-in occurs and the three quickly rush into one of the corners of the room. Behind them, a portal opens and sucks them into the next area.

They arrive in the middle of the room where they were originally in. Kriux is still behind his shield, reviving himself King Mickey, Riku and Kairi are off fighting the last of the Unknown monsters. Suddenly, a dark monster emerges from the darkness and Sora is sent to fight the creature, all by himself.

-Boss: Guardian of Darkness-

Thankfully enough, you have a constant flying ability for this battle. The Guardiais the same monster that Xehanort’s Heartless and Xemnas used to attack Sora and to protect themselves. However, now it showcases an Unknown emblem. The Guardian wields a double-edged scythe. The Guardian flies rapidly about the area, so be sure to fly just as quickly away from him, in case he attacks. This boss shouldn’t be too difficult to defeat, but he can provide quite a challenge if you’re not careful. The battle is similar to previous fights with this monster.

After the battle, the Guardian writhes and disappears in a smog of darkness, having been defeated. Now, Sora is left to attack Kriux, who is shielded beneath his barrier. Sora goes to attack the barrier.

-Boss: Dark Barrier-

The barrier, nor Kriux can attack you during the battle. However, there are still several Unknown creatures that might attack you. Finish the last of the Unknown monsters off now, so that the threat of the creatures is ended forever. Then, proceed to attack the shield. Weapon, magic, anything will do.

Soon, the shield will shatter and Kriux will be released, determined, now more than ever to put a stop to Sora, the Keyblade and the power of light.

-Boss: Kriux REVIVED-

This is it. The final battle of the game. The moment the entire game has led up to. Show Kriux, this imposter everything you’ve learned! He’s nothing but a shell of somebody else’s shadow, after all.

Kriux will continue to do all of his prior attacks, such as the electric ray attack and the flying attack. The first half of the battle will be fairly easy, very similar to the first encounter with him, but don’t let that throw you! Now that his HP is about halfway depleted, Kriux will start performing a new string of attacks. He now teleports from place to place and grabs Sora, temporarily freezing him. Watch out, because Kriux can deal some pretty heavy attacks while being frozen.

If you took bad damage, don’t hesitate to use a Cure spell or an item. It’s the end, you can’t afford to lose now! The end of the journey and all of the pain you’ve had to suffer with the last three years! Now, his most prominent attack is featured. He digs his Soul Eater into the ground, summoning Kingdom Hearts. The large-shaped heart begins to emerge from the ground, feeding of the darkness.

Then a reaction command takes place where King Mickey swing into the battle, unleashes his Keyblade and performs an attack, called “Holy Light”, where rays of light shine down from all parts of the heavens. Kingdom Heart repels the darkness and shines, radiantly. Continue hacking away at Kriux! With King Mickey now at your side, the two of you put your strength together, performing powerful combos, before Kingdom Hearts sends another bright burst of energy at Kriux. The battle ends.

Kriux falls to the floor, slowly trying to reach out to Kingdom Hearts. He crawls against the darkness, towards the giant heart. He uses the last ounce of his strength to reach the surface of the heart, hoping to gain it’s supreme power. He lays a single finger on the surface of the heart. A puff of darkness is emitted from his finger, but then a small spark of light appears within Kingdom Hearts, repelling the darkness. Kriux loses all energy and dies. His body fades away into the nothingness of darkness, where he came.

Afterwards, Sora, Kairi, Riku, King Mickey, Donald and Goofy are all reunited happily for the first time in years. While Donald and Goofy are celebrating, Sora and Kairi are with each other and they experience their first-time long awaited kiss. King Mickey is discussing something with Riku. They both exchange glances at Sora and King Mickey tells Riku that it’d be best if Sora found out.

Suddenly, Kingdom Hearts begin to emit a brilliant glow, pushing away the darkness. The light grows until it captures the entire area. Kingdom Hearts is released and set free.

The bright light fades into the closing CGI sequence. Sora, Kairi, Riku, King Mickey, Donald and Goofy all walk out of the white light and onto the sandy beach of Destiny Islands. The light closes behind them, as if it never existed. They are finally home. It’s been the first time all three of them have been on the islands in three years.

The six of them decide to sit on the beach, feeling the sand beneath their feet. It still feels the same as it did all those years ago. Nothing’s changed. Maybe nothing will. Sora sets his hand down on the sand and feels something hidden beneath. A sealed bottle. He opens it and reads:

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

A.”
What does it mean? Sora looks at King Mickey, questioning him whether he wrote the letter or not. King Mickey says that wasn’t written by him. Donald and Goofy look at the letter, as well. It was buried so far beneath the sand, it really must have landed here three years ago, when Sora and Kairi promised that wouldn’t return to the islands until Riku was with them. Now he is, and everything is the way it should be.

Sora smiled, as he held the sealed letter in one hand and Kairi’s hand in the other. I guess some things do change. On the edge of the beach, Sora stared at the sunset, as it descended on the horizon.

The credits roll, as Utada Hikaru’s Come Back to Me begins to play. Throughout the first section of the credits, screenshots of the most pivotal moments of the game are displayed on the screen, before setting in on one final image of Sora, Kairi, Riku, King Mickey, Donald and Goofy on the beach together.

In the second half of the credits, small teasers are displayed on the left side of the screen, as the credits roll on the right side of the screen.

King Mickey, Donald and Goofy are seen blasting off through a Gummi Ship route, dodging Gummi blocks along the way. Chip and Dale are squealing from the control pit. The three make their way across gummi space, towards Disney Kingdom.

In Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts is demanding her cards around, while the White Rabbit looks on, hopeless. Tweedle and Tweedle Dum are “bopping” each other in the forest, as the Cheshire Cat grins. The Caterpillar-turned-butterfly flies across the scene. The Mad Hatter and the Marge Hare are having a grand old time having a tea party.

In the 100 Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl, Roo, Kanga and Gopher are all watching the moon rising from Starry Hill. The book is revealed to be in the library of Disney Castle. Sora must have given it to King Mickey upon their farewell. Now, the book will always be safe.

In the Royal City, Pip is seen having a book signing in Andalasia, while Edward and Prince Nancy get married. The screen goes down the well and into New York City, where Nathaniel is having his own book signing. The final scene shows Giselle, Edward and Morgan living as a family, enjoying their real-life happily ever.

In Notre Dame, Esmerelda and Phoebus are seen in the courtyard of Notre Dame, as Quasimodo is finally able to explore the outside.

In Alpine Village, Pinocchio is dancing happily with Geppetto, happier than ever that Pinocchio is a real boy. Figaro and Cleo look ecstatic. The Blue Fairy smiles through the cottage window, before disappearing in a blue flash, flying away.

In Olympus Coliseum, Hercules, Megara and Phil fly on Pegasus’ back to the original Coliseum, where it re-opened. The games begin!

In Mysterious Tower, Yensid is seen studying several books, and then looking out his moon-shaped window.

In The Land of Symphony, Madame Upanova, Hyacinth Hippo, Elephanchine, the Elephant and Ben Ali Gator are seen dancing together. The Spring Sprite circles over the land, spreading a wealth of vegetation and beauty. A single elk stares as the Spring Sprite speads beauty all across the land.

In Port Royal, Jack Sparrow is setting sail across the sea in a small boat. He’s on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth. Barbossa commandeers the Black Pearl, shouting orders to Pintel, Ragetti and the rest of the crew. William Turner is seen sailing the vast seas, captaining the Flying Dutchman, along with his father. Elizabeth stands on a dock, waiting for the day William will return.

In Monstropolis, several children are using laughter to generate power, as it is much stronger than children. Monsters now go to the Laugh Floor, hoping to make children laugh, while Roz is overlooking the scene. Mike reveals that he re-built Boo’s door for Sully. Sully puts his single piece of Boo’s door in the correct spot and the door turns on. He enters the room and smiles.

In the Dark Rainforest, Mowgli and Shanti are seen in the Man Village, playing together. Mowgli catches Baloo and Bagheera spying on them from the brush of the forest. Mowgli runs over to greet them, introducing Shanti to the two.

In Radiant Garden, Lightning and Snow are unpacking boxes in their new home. Yuna, Riku and Paine are searching throughout the world to find special treasures. They find a mysterious cavern. Red XIII sits on the edge of a cliff and lets out a mighty howl. Leon and Rinoa are seen unpacking boxes in their new house, but Zell comes in and accidentally trips over everything. He apologizes and runs outside, where he accidentally bumps into Yuffie. She smiles bashfully, before proceeding to run her way, covering her face. She nearly knocks over Cloud and Aerith who are making their way to the two. The two laugh and shake their heads at Yuffie, before proceeding to the Marketplace together.

In Destiny Islands, Sora, Kairi and Riku are all seen on the beach, the sunset in the distance. Just like old times.

The credits end.

Destiny Islands. A place where troubles and worries float away with the ocean, where life is carefree and each day is a brand new start, where the sunset has such a glow, that would spread warmth throughout your body. This is what made Destiny Islands so special. This is what made Destiny Islands a home.

Sora, Kairi and Riku remain on the beach. It’s been a long journey, but they are all here together, just as they wanted. Things are finally back to the way it should be. Kairi says that she’s happy to be back home, with two of the most wonderful people in the world. Kairi tells the two that she’d better get home, as it’s getting late. She leaves and starts heading home, as the sun begins to set over the island. Sora and Riku, sit on the beach; best friends who haven’t seen each other in years. There’s so many stories that have to be told and Sora doesn’t even know where to start.

Before he can speak, Sora notices that Riku looks a bit sad. Riku’s been thinking about what King Mickey said. Sora asks Riku if he is feeling alright. Riku says that what Kairi said wasn’t exactly true; he isn’t a wonderful person. Sora insists that he’s just being silly, but then Riku grows sad and serious. He admits that there is something that he should have told Sora years ago, but he didn’t. Sora remarks, saying that he sounds so serious. They’re best friends, what could it possibly be? Riku admits that it’s the kind of thing that could end their friendship. Riku suggests that they go talk and Sora nods. The two make their way across the beach and begin to talk, as the sun sets behind them.

Destiny Islands. As Kairi rowed away, she looked at the place she loved so much. A place where an adventure would happen everday, where children grow up to recall their younger years, where best friends could share horrible secrets. Kairi looked at the island, admiring it in all its beauty, but as she did so, she didn’t notice the star falling from the sky.

-Special Secret-
Reconnected

The figure walks along the beach, admiring the small island under the dark sky. He stretches out his hand and a Keyblade appears. The man smiles to himself. He llos up at the night sky, filled with stars. The scene shows the man’s back and curves around his body to reveal who the shrouded figure is. Xehanort.

What an excellent way to end the game! Excellent happily ever after scenarios in the credits make for a teary-eyed gamer.

The credits really remind me of the end to Majora's Mask. Brings back a lot of nostalgic for me which gives you extra points in my book.
