Will this finally make Imagination the unofficial kids HQ of Epcot again? After all the bickering -- this actually sounds MUCH MORE AWESOME THAN KIDCOT!

Yes, it does sound great.

I'm looking forward to hearing some first hand reports about the game play and the response to the testing. There's nothing better for kids than to interact with their surroundings while undertaking a task to complete. The "kimmunicators" just add yet another level of intrigue for them. I have a feeling this will be well received.

Thanks for the info Steve!

Everyone was bashing the idea of Kim Possible coming to Epcot. Now that you all heard details about it, you all seem OK with it. Wow. This proves instead of right away bashing an idea, wait for the details and see how things play out. Kudos to Disney, they did it again with some great entertainment.

I'm just happy because it feels like the Return of the Adventureland Treasue Hunt from the MK a long while back.

Despite being invite-only, I wonder if parents will balk at the fact that a deposit is required. It seems like this is obviously needed in case someone decides to run off with the "Kimmunicator" as a souvenir, but how much will the deposit be?

You're right. It's really a shame that some can't just look forward to something different at the most magical place on earth. They would rather throw a tantrum and kill the magic... just like a little child that didn't get their sucker. *shakes head*

I can't imagine it being much anymore than $20. That, and I'm sure Disney will effectively bring up the need for the deposit AFTER the kids know what they will be doing.

What's the deposit on the Pal Mickey rentals? I think they are much more than $20 and still get a lot of people taking the deal. If this is a "smart phone" then I'd bet the deposit will be more in line with $100+. If it was $20... I'd cop the phone myself. :lookaroun

Of course they will!:zipit:

Overall, this seems like something nice to have for more frequent visitors to the parks, like the VMK quests are to MK. Something extra for kids to do that allows them to think about the park in a different way and see some things they may not have noticed before. (*whispers* "Hey, maybe they'll learn something too!");)

This may be the most important post I've seen here in quite some time!

I think this sounds pretty positive. The early reports I had heard about Kim implied it would be (or at least were interpreted as) a live show.

Shouldn't we be worried that introducing all these character elements to Epcot will take away from its original intentions as a 'Prototype Community'? Or have we lost all hope for that?

Not knocking the Kim Possible thing, my niece loves the show so I'm sure she'll be excited to participate. Though with the success of Cars, I'm starting to worry what Test Track will look like in a year...

The "Prototype Community" was a dead idea before Epcot ever opened.

I don't understand the angst about characters in Epcot. If it brings in the visitors and keeps the gates turning, then it should be done. Keeping the park popular and attractive to guests will be great for the fans... more attractions, updates and investment for years to come.
