Just as a quick refresher…

WHO: Me, my sister (SB), brother-in-law (IZ), and our dad (R, but I may just refer to him as dad)

WHERE: Bay Lake Tower in a 1BR Villa

WHEN: June 16-22, 2021

WHY: Who needs a reason to go to Disney?! But really, we have missed it SO much in the past year, and this trip was much needed. We lost my mom in August 2020 to a long and hard fought battle with Ovarian Cancer. It has been a very hard year between that and dealing with the pandemic, so we were so ready for a break from real life.

I believe someone said they had the recipe for those potatoes that were so good. I'd like to get my hands on it!! They look delicious!

Did they not fill the bus so that people could distance?

That is what we thought, but if that was the case, it was a failed attempt. All of the people on the bus were crammed in the front half! The back was completely empty.

Those iced coffees look AMAZING! I don't love Chef Mickey's but I've heard they've stepped up their game recently with the family-style serving...... and if those coffees are any indication of that, I'm so down to try it again!

SB and IZ really enjoyed them. I thought I would miss the buffet at restaurants, but I am now a big fan of the family style. I’d definitely go there again!

Are your white sandals Teva's? I love them! I've been eyeballing another pair.

Yes, they are Tevas. The style is called hurricane drift. They were very comfortable and GREAT for the times we got caught in the rain.

I’m loving your Mickey shirts…. LOVE that you have the little knot in the front too. cute….Where did you get them at?

Sorry for the delay! Let’s continue with our Epcot day!


Now, it was FOOD TIME! Into the World Showcase we go.


I got started quickly and stopped at the first booth I saw It was the Flavor Full Kitchen.

I started with dessert Strawberry Mousse with Chocolate Crisp Pearls!

This was much better than I expected. Very creamy and thicker than I would have thought a “mousse” would be. IZ and SB finished off the gummy worms.


Next, I went to the Honey Bee-Stro. Nobody else thought anything sounded appealing, but I had to try the Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread.

I had seen so many people try this in vlogs and on here and I LOVE corn bread, so I needed to try it. Very, very good. My only complaint was that it was a tiny bit on the dry side. But, still delicious!

Now it was time for the rest of the crew to try something! They stopped at the next booth, The Citrus Blossum. I took this to show how crowded it felt! There were a lot lots people here today than other days of the trip.

All 3 of them got the Meyer Lemon-Poached Lobster Salad. They all agreed that it was delicious!

It felt like we were literally stopping at every booth we saw, but hey, we were hungry! We couldn’t skip Canada. Northern Bloom was up next! I almost didn’t get anything here, but I’m glad I did!


SB and IZ shared the Seared Scallops with Fresh Green Beans, Butter Potatoes, Vinaigrette, and Bacon. (No picture so here is this one from DFB!)

Dad and I both got our own Beef Tenderloin Tips, Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce, Whipped Potatoes and Garden Vegetables. I normally HATE mushrooms, but this whole thing was really good!

Dad also got the Goose Island Beer Company Lost Palate Hazy IPA. He said it was pretty good.

We were hot and seeking some refuge so I showed the fam the hidden World Showplace. They didn’t believe me that there was anything in there until we got inside! It felt completely deserted back there. Definitely a nice break from the heat and the crowds.


SB and IZ got the Fried Green Tomatoes with Blue Crab Fennel Salad from Festival Favorites.

I went to Cider House and got the 3 Daughters Brewing Pink Lemonade Hard Cider.

Dad just relaxed at a table. We enjoyed listening to the pianist for a little while.


IZ’s younger brother is really into different teas right now, so he and SB spent some time looking for him a gift in the tea shop in the UK. They found something they wanted to get him but didn’t want to carry it all around, so they decided to come back for it later. Meanwhile, Dad and I wandered around.

On our way over to the rest of World Showcase, we stopped and checked out the Ratatouille area. We also used the restrooms back here and they were very nice and clean and not crowded.

(Dad has my bag again, LOL )

Disappointed that it wasn’t opened yet!

I was feeling very overheated at this point. I think that SB and IZ got something else to eat from the Morocco booth, but I don’t know what it was! I had to find a bench and I was trying to cool off while that was going on.

Thankfully, we were near America so I went up ahead and sat inside the American Adventure rotunda for a while. It felt SO good in there! I wish the Voices of Liberty were still performing indoors. We missed the outdoor performance due to timing. Looking forward for that to return!

Once the rest of the crew made it, Dad and IZ both got Crawfish etouffee with andouille sausage and dirty rice along with beers (sorry, I don’t remember what kind!) from Magnolia Terrace. They said it was delicious!

Feeling a bit refreshed, we continued on. I noticed several of these empty booths along the way. Preparing for Food and Wine!

I was ready for more food so I got the Toasted Pretzel Bread topped with Black Forest Ham and Melted Gruyère Cheese from Bauernmarkt: Farmers Market in Germany. IZ and Dad got beers too, but again, I have no idea what

We wandered into China next, and spent some time in the shops there. Then, SB wanted one more snack from the Lotus House. She and IZ shared the House-made Crab and Cheese Wontons. (No picture so here is a menu photo from DFB!)

We had a dinner ADR coming up, so everybody stopped eating at this point. We needed to be a little hungry for later!

We thought about going to visit Donald in Mexico but the line was SO long so we skipped it. I wanted to do SE before we left the park, so we made the trek to the front.

I loved these Toy Story topiaries!

It was down when we got there, but we waited about 10 minutes and then it came back up. We walked right on!


As we got off the ride we were greeted with this…

We decided to try and QUICKLY make our way out the IG to head to Beaches & Cream for our dinner ADR. On the way we stopped back in the UK so that IZ could pick up the tea box he found earlier for his brother. While they were inside though…

The rain rain rain came down down down. In a BIG way. We waited a bit in the store but decided to just make a run for it because the radar suggested it wouldn’t stop anytime soon.

We made it to the store at the IG and waited under the awning for few minutes to see if it would calm down at all. We were soaked.

It slowed slightly so we took off again towards BC. We made it but were very soggy. Thankfully, BC was prepared with these towels to greet us on the way in. We dried off as much as we could.

Then, on to Beaches & Cream!

We checked in and waited about 40 minutes after our ADR time. They were running very behind.

It was worth the wait though! We all got either a burger or chicken sandwich. No pics because we were starving!


I did get some pictures of our dessert though!

We thought about going back into Epcot but decided not against it because it looked like it might rain some more. We hopped on a bus from BC to MK. We must have looked rough, because the driver said, “are y’all REALLY going to MK, or are you trying to go to a resort?” He was so nice and dropped us right off at the Contemporary bus stop.

We got packed up () and went to bed. Last night with this view!

Day 7: Travel Home


It was time to go back home. We planned to leave around 10:00 am. I got up and got ready to go early, so I had some time to myself around the resort.


I mobile ordered a little breakfast from Contempo Cafe and took it outside to eat at the fireworks viewing area.

I got some breakfast potatoes and a rice crispy treat. I couldn’t leave Disney with having it!

After my breakfast I made my way back to the room.

We got on the road and made it home. This was a great, great trip! As I always say leaving Disney, See Ya Real Soon!
