Ill save the whole backstory behind SOAP's history and the fanactical hype around it and just get to the real question: is the movie any good? I can say, without a doubt, this movie is the most entertaining picture of the entire summer. It does exactly what it promises to do: entertain you and have a great time while doing it.
If you don't know the plotline to the movie, Ill try to sum it up in a few sentences. Samuel L. Jackson plays an FBI agent who is escorting a murder witness from Hawaii to Los Angeles. Well, the mobster who he is testifying against unleashes a crate full of hundreds of deadly snakes aboard the plane in an attempt to kill the witness. Chaos ensues as the passengers, the flight crew and Jackson bind together in an attempt to survive.
The movie definitely isn't perfect. There are plot holes all over the place and the beginning drags on a bit before the real action aboard the plane begins. However, when the action begins, it is definitely a sight to see. In my eyes, the movie lived up to its humongous hype and more. It won't win any awards but I guarantee you won't have a much better time at the movies this summer than this flick. Its funny, its frightening, its frantic and most important of all, its fun.
