I wish we could get those fares! We are looking at about $1,400 for 2 people doing trip from halifax, Nova Scotia.. We have only booked our return flight so far and it is $705 on us airways for 2 people!

Wow, that's crazy.
Yup, we are usually between $900-1200 return for 2 ppl, but it's a bit higher this year and dosnt seem to be changing much. We snagged the return flight last night because the $705 was the cheapest we had seen it since we started looking in January.. We could get it a bit cheaper (about $100) but would rather pay a bit extra to have a flight that leaves at 5pm instead of 10am, this way we can spend the morning in a park before heading to the airport.

I had to pay 1102.00 for two roundtrip tickets from LAX to MCO. If I had booked the week before, it would have only been 796.00. Hard lesson learned, but I had to wait for a reply from my son about flight times and by the time he made his decision and got back to me, the prices got ridiculous. I usually book way out, but we decided at the last minute to do Disney instead of PC. I did the Tuesday thing, but it didn't make a difference.

We need time for things to happen.
That's true!

But for light packers traveling with family (like me), the TV and assigned seating are a tipping point in favor of JetBlue. (Plus, where I live, SW and JetBlue fares are neck-and-neck.) :) We have flown SW before, however, and I had no complaints.
That's a huge plus, however Jet Blue never seems to leave Hartford early enough for me. When it comes to going to WDW being able to be in the parks by 11am is the tipping point for me.

Southwest just released flights for our November cruise and I almost fainted when I saw the prices. I have NEVER paid over $300 from Portland, Manchester or Boston to Orlando... All 3 locations were over $400 a person!! All I can say is if they stay that pricey, we're not going. I refuse to give into the airline companies price gouging.

We are from Cleveland, where we just lost United as our main carrier, which is fine by me, because since the merge with Continental, we got all the old crappy planes and high prices. We just booked with Frontier for $1000 for 5 of us! That is the lowest I have paid since 2007. And that is in select seating, whatever that is. But the price is right Bob! And the kicker, it was booked through WDW travel company, cheaper than any sight or direct.

Yes
Omaha, NE (2 1/2 hour drive for me) to MCO - $270 on Southwest 10/14-10/23

SO worth the 2 1/2 hour drive - otherwise it's $420 + baggage fees to fly out of Sioux Falls, SD

Not fans of SW's cattle call for boarding. We don't see paying the Early Bird fee as optional. We want to sit together, it's a popular add-on, and with aviation buffs there's a pickiness to where we sit. We've been finding better prices than SW with United more and more frequently. United beats SW generally by $30+ per ticket plus we get to select our seats when we book. Free bags? Yeah, when we use our United Visa we get a free checked bag per person + double (& often more) rewards miles. I also looooove that every year on our "anniversary" with United Visa we get 2 free passes to the United Club. That's also a nice perk when you have time to kill in the airport. The location in MCO is very nice. Oh yes! Priority boarding. We get that, too. Additionally, when traveling abroad, United Visa does not charge international fees or surcharges on purchases. That's come in handy a few times, too, when cruising with Mickey.

Also a sweet little thing to note, last September I had my flight to MCO booked with United on points. When I did my online check-in I was offered an upgrade to first class for $89. Heck yeah! Good thing I took it because my 1 checked bag was overweight. No extra fee since I was first class. Free drinky-drinks, cushy seat, big ol' fat bag....all for under $100. Yeeeesssss!!!!

The prices for my nov trip are more$$$ than my June. I'm Shocked. I'm going to check daily as the prices dropped a bit with my June ones as well.

We flew Spirit when we went in January. I was a little nervous because I ALWAYS fly United, but our experience wasn't bad. It wasn't fantastic, but we got tickets for $130/pp from Houston to Orlando. You have to pay for your bags online and do all check-in online, otherwise the prices at the counter are outrageous. The plane was smaller than the big airlines, but it was a smooth flight. And for the price, we were pleasantly surprised with the service.

Not sure I'd use them for longer trips, but I'm definitely flying with them again for my next Disney trip.

The flight we wanted going down is the one we're having issues with and it actually went up in price today! One way Portland to Orlando... $293! We ended up booking Portland to Jacksonville for $135 one way. It's cheaper to fly into Jax, rent a car, stay overnight (we have friends there anyway) and drive to port in the AM than it is to pay the $293 a person to fly into Orlando, stay at the Hyatt and take the DCL transfers to port. I don't mind driving the 2 hours from Jax to port. Plus with a rental car, we can make a stop at the liquor store and buy our bottles of alcohol instead of wrapping them in bubble wrap and putting them in our checked bag. Weeeeeee!!! (EDIT: I realize that last statement makes me sound like a lush but I swear I'm not... only on Disney cruises!)

I sad because I planned our trip around flying Frontier, which does one flight to and from orlando every M/W/F. So I booked Wed to Wed, seeing that the MCO to PHL was night for the summer. Finally September flight times show up and it's a 10am flight on our last day! No way Jose! Looks like we'll leave from Delaware and return to Philly. Bothersome!
