Just Got back

Hi all. My family and I just got back today and had a blast. We stayed at all stars movies and got a ground level room, right outside of Andy's room in the Toy Story Section. My DS, 2yr old was in heaven..

I am too tired to post a trip report. Will post one in a couple of days.

Soarin was incredible and we did the child swap and only waited about 15 mins. My DH and I also did Everest and did child swap, single rider. Again, only 15 mins. I must admit Everest was fun, but a little bit of a letdown with all the hype about it.

Mickey's Philharmagic....(sp:?) was awesome.

This was my son's first visit and He loved meeting Mickey and friends, woody an friends, but would not hug Pooh and friends. He did great on all of the rides. Just did not like the part in Journey Into Imagination where they have the skunk smell and there is a huge blast. He got a little scared. Same with the Philharmagic show, big vacuum that sucked Donald in, maybe him shake for a second til it stopped. I think his favorite ride was Disney's Playhhouse Live...

Oh well, back to civilization. Sorry for any spelling errors. A litle bit tired..off to bed

I've been meaning to convince my parents to make reservations for Tony's... we'd eaten there before, but not since 1996! Want to try the spaghetti and amaretto cheesecake on the DDP. :slurp:

Would you recommend it?

Definitely. We made last minute ressies there on a whim. I have to say it was our best dining experience all week. The service was great, efficient and the food was awesome....amaretto cheesecake tops all.

Good luck

Thanks. We're actually going over to a friend's house later tonight to help them with some planning (make that almost ALL of the planning). Maybe I could convince my parents while the subject is there...

Hey Dandaman, how did your friend's planning go last night? Did you throw Tony's Town Square Restaurant into the coversation ? Did your parents seem interested?

Playground, Arcade & Animal Kingdom

Hi all. Sorry the the delay in posting our last 2 days...I am such a slacker...LOL:lol:

That morning, DH went down to the food court and got us breakfast, pancakes for son and waffle for me. After breakfast, DH was going with his brother who is a cast member to property control...lucky. For anyone who does not know, it is place for cast members to go and purchase, discontinued, damaged, and some new stuff for super cheap. They are allowed I believe to take one person with them.... DH got a lot of great stuff...I got this real cool white hoodie that had walt and mickey mouse standing on Main Street and a couple of t-shirts, DS got a couple of t-shirts, remote control monorail car and stuffed Zurg from Toy Story 2 and we also got two Christmas ornaments, one with Mickey and pluto in police car and one with Buzz and Woody from Toystory stting on a present...very cool..Thanks DH:sohappy: Saved a lot of money there on souvenoirs.

So, I took DS to the playground at our resort, All Star Movies and DS had a blast. I just didn't realize it was on sand...yuck...hate sand in the shoes. DS learned how to go up a slide the wrong way and then slide down afterwards. At one point, he got up real high on the playground equipment and kept leaning over side, saying hey mommmy...he was nearly giving me a heart attack...there was no way to get him without walking around this bridge and then up the stairs.....he could have fallen by then...only thing I didn't like. He played for about 30 mins and then we went back to the room for a drink. Then, we walked up the arcade and he had a blast. The only problem I had was getting him to stay with me, while I was putting money into the machine to get a debit card so he could play...finally some guy who worked there, did it for me....thanks wherever you are, sorry I was so frustrated, didn't see his name tag. DS liked to walk up the skeeball machine and then throw it in the lowest hole everytime and he loved playing air hockey...it was so cute....After a couple of hrs, I took DS to food court and we both had pizza. DH met us there and afterwards, we decided to go to Animal Kingdom, for EMH.

We were bout half way there, when DS fell asleep...perfect timing...we got our EMH bracelet and headed back to Everest....There was only a 20 min wait...we got the child swap pass and then we were put into the fast pass lane and then into singles...It took about 15 mins total...not too bad... I hate to say it, after all the hype on this ride, I was not that impressed. It was neat when it went backwards and then when you saw the Yeti, but that was about it. I would take RNRC over it anytime:cool: .

After we both did ride, we went and grabbed dinner at a barbecue place...forget what it was called... dH got a barbecue sandwhich and he loved it....I just got a drink, still full from lunch...

After that, we went back to hotel. We just didn't feel like sticking around anymore and DS was getting antsy..not a lot for a little one to do there. I have to add that their strollers were the best...they seemed to be bigger and sturdier than all of the other parks.
I
don't rememeber what we did that night.I think we just hung out in the room watching tv. DH blew bubbles for my son and turned on the hairdryer, so they would go farther and faster....son loved that:D

FInally, off to lala land...:snore:

Tomorrow is our final day....so sad:(

More to come....eventually:lol:

HaHa Rob:lol:

It is hard to get on the computer by myself at night after work. MY DS (2.5yrs) gives me about 5 mins by myself and then is on me. He likes to go to the Disney.com site and play JoJo and Mickey Mouse games and then on to the Wiggles site and play all of them...It is hard to drag him away...He did learn to count from JoJo and the Wiggles,though...so that is a plus.

anyways, I will try and post my final day in the next couple of days,

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Understood, I have to fight a 17, 19 and 10 y/o for computer time, not to mention DW...so time is at a premium.

Thanks, and you too! We should have a nice weekend after we get through today.

That's funny Kasey that we were in the same building and we didn't even know it. There were 5 of us. Adjoing rooms were great, gave my DS (2.5) more room to run around and burn some of his energy.

Our Final Day, Finally:(

We originallly were going to get up early and go to one of the parks, but we decided we had enough and decided to sleep in. We slept til about 8:30 and that was nice. Then, I went down to food court and got DS pancakes and me a bagel. I stood in line with one person in front of me for almost 10 mins. She was only getting a milkshake, but I guess it took longer since it was probably the first of the day being so early and all...Then, the guy behind the counter goes away and is gone for 5 mins...the lady behind me is like, what is he doing? I figured maybe he was out of one of the ingredients or maybe he had to go out back and milk the cow:lol: Well, he comes back and gives the lady a straw...It was a normal straw that you could get where all of the silverware and condiments are...I just look at the lady and we are in disbelief...she couldn't get one herself...I finally get my bagel and ask where the cream cheese is and he said it is over in the refrigerator area....The lady behind me said, : You need help with that? or can you manage....?" I said, I don't know, maybe he can escort me over...... I love sarcastic people being one myself at times...

I go back to the room and DS and DH are still sleeping....I finish up our packing I didn't finish from last night and then they finally wake up and we have our breakfast. I call for luggage assitance and they say 20 mins...Well half hr comes and no one has arrived yet, so I call again...They said they will be right there....So DH waits and I take son to arcade as he was getting antsy... We were there a good 15 mins before DH showed up....

We played games for a couple of hrs and got a lot of tickets.......DH figured out the trick of the wheel of Fortune game and empited the machine 5 times....everythine the guy who worked there reloaded that machine or another, he would give me any extra tickets that were stuck in the machines...It pays to have a cute 2 yr old:o

So, it is getting close to our departure time, so we cash in our tickets and are able to get more than an eraser or pencil...We get a blue crayola lava lamp and a bunch of candy for DH...candyaholic.

We meet up with my brother in law and friend and head to the food court to try and finish up our dining plan credits...we had discovered the day before that we had 7 counter services left...so by the time we left, we only had left one and one snack...not too bad. So, we have lunch and say our goodbyes and then it is time to go and claim our luggage and get in line for Magical Express Bus...They guy could not find our luggage...I gave him our last name, a common name, but there were 3 people with the same last name...Finally, he thought to ask my first name, and found it instantly...We only waited about 5 mins and bus came...

Once on bus, I realized we had no money to tip the poor bus driver who loaded and unloaded the bus with bags.....I felt so bad...only had fifities left. Felt funny asking him for change....Sorry wherever you are. I knew his name 3 wks ago, but now I am drawing a blank...I will catch you next time around.

We went to 3 other resorts, but only picked up people at 2 of them as there was no one waiting at the one resort...

Off to the airport..pleaseant ride...It just stunk you had to lug your luggage into the airport and all the way to your gate .Once we got inside, We had to wait in line to check our luggage...It was a pretty long line....My DS had falled asleep on the bus, but now he was wide awake...He goes Mommy, I wet...sure enough, I look at my shirt and it is wet and his pants are wet...I can't get out of line to change him, so I do what any good mom would do, and change him in line....I whipped off his shoes and wet pants and put them in a side pocket of our carry one and whipped of his diaper...then, the line moves, So I stay on my knees crawl a few feet and put him back down and change his diaper and put on a pair of jeans, as it will be night time when we get home and cooler...Once he is all ready and I pick up everything...I head a woman say, " Good Job Mom!" Really made my day. That was the quickest I had ever changed my son's diaper and clothees..

After all of this, We got upstairs and waited in our gate, in the preboard section, another plus of traveling with someone under 5....We only had about 30 mins to kill....Magical Express was great in getting us there on time, but not too early.

Flight was pretty good. The pilot was funny. He was giving us the weather forecast for Baltimore....We were going to Philly. He just wanted to see if we were awake...

The flight was pretty good...no turbulence. I forgot to mention we experienced a little bit on the way there. DS and DH had fallen asleep, so I got to experience it alone. It was kind of cool. It was like being on a roller coaster...:D

Once we arrived in Philly, there was no announcement made to tell us where to get our luggage...The Southwest signs sucked and we went the wrong way and ended up at the exit...We turned around and saw people from our plane, so we followed them...Finally found our baggage claim....It took about 15 mins til our luggage started to come down the ramp...By this time, son had pooped...lucky me. This time there was a bench, so I was able to change him on there...lucky it was clean ________. Moms I am sure you know what I mean there.

We got our luggage, waited outside less than 10 mins and our ride arrived....Then it was off to home...

We didn't unpack for 3 days...just didn't feel like it......

We had a great trip, but we were glad to be home...

Already planning next trip hopefully Nov 2007...

Cannot wait....:sohappy:
