Just Got Back!!!

Just got back from our 10 day trip (Oct 4-13) Had a great time!!!
Halloween Party was great. Our kids got to be in the parade and that made our whole trip worth wild. Great weather, low crowds. Just unpacked the truck and got to get ready for work tomorrow (that stinks). I'll try to give a detailed report later.

If anybody has any questions, fire away!!!!!

Hey guys, sorry for the tease. I just got to work so I will try to drop details thru out the day when i get small breaks.

First of all MNSSHP, Friday Oct 11.

GREAT PARTY. We got to the MK about 5:00. We thought we would get there early and get in a few rides before the party started. The CM were already out front at the gates so we got our arm bands and went on in. We rode a few rides from 5 - 6. At 6 oclock the CM would not let anyone on a ride unless you had an arm band on. That was b/c the park officially closed at 6. The party did not start until 7, so we rode several rides from 6-7. My advice: Get there early! At 7, the crowds started to pour in. They did not let us into the HM until after 7. The CM were in character with full face paint and white hair. Plenty of fog around the mansion. As matter of fact, we had to feel our way into the front door it was so thick. They had special lighting on the mansion (as well as the rest of the park). All around a great experience. My daughter (12) was talking to a CM, she turned out to be an entertainment manager and she got them into the 10:30 parade. This was the highlight of our trip. She, my 6 yo son and our friends 3 yo daughter got on the hayride float. This was great. Overall the party was quite crowded though. As we left at 12:45, we saw a sign out front that said that the event was sold out. But still a great night. As soon as my wife gets the pictures developed, i will post some.

Be back later with more details.

MNSSHP cont...

Again, the parade was great but same as last year, wish they could add a float each year or so. Fireworks show was great but the flight of the witch was difficult to see, she needs to be lit up better. Oh, and there was plenty of candy to go around. Some CM were more generous than others.

Again, sorry for the breaks in the trip report but i'm trying to do it during breaks. you all know how the first day back at work can be..:brick:

Monday was our first day at the parks and we went to AK. It was the EE day therefore the park was pretty crowded. We did the safari ride first at about 8:00am. We did see more animals than we ever did. I not sure if this was b/c it was an hour earlier?!?! The rest of the park was pretty much the same. We did the CTX with no wait. Zero wait for Tough to Be a Bug. Primeval Whirl was the longest wait 15 min. Anyway we stayed there until about 1:00 and went back to ASMusic had lunch and then stood out in the parking lot and watched the Space Shuttle take off. That was really cool to see.

Side note: I'm was a really big fan of EE and was excited to see it come back. But we really didn't use it this time. Well not directly. We used it as the parks to avoid. For example, we went to Epcot on Tues (not EE) and the park was pretty much empty. All rides/attractions were walk on except TT which was 20 minute stand by. This was pretty much the trend all week long. About Friday it started to get busy again.

I'm curious what your rates were at the ASMusic resort. I'm planning on staying at the ASMovie resort in early February. Did you have a discounted rate?

Yea, we got a discounted rate. That was why we could stay 10 days. You can see the discounts at www.mousesavers.com. I dont think the discounts are out for next year yet. And the discounts only apply to ASSports and Music. I think everyone wants to stay at Movies so they dont discount them. Sorry.

Oh yeah, just remembered. They had a really cool pin that you could purchase during MNSSHP that would light up in stages. It was $10. I loved it and the kids loved it. They also had an exclusive 2002 MNSSHP pin. I don't have a scanner at work, so i'll try to scan and post it tonite.

Wednesday we did MGM. Again, crowds were low to moderate. All day long, the lines for RnR and ToT were great. The longest wait was 15 minutes. The last 30 minutes of the day, we rode RnR 4 times. We had lunch at Hollywood and Vine. They have excellent food, great variety. The kids loved the characters. Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale were all there. After lunch we did the back lot tours. Myself, my friend and his daughter got to do the water tank show. That was alot of fun. Try to be loud and you may get picked. At first he also picked my wife, but when he saw she was pregnant, he gave her a reprieve. Fantasmic was great as always. We sat in the Mickey section about 5 rows from the front. Best seats we ever had. However, you do get a little wet from the mist from the water screens. Fantasmic is a great way to end the day.

Hey btw, we rode RnR that morning and saw a guy in the queue and the CM introduced him as the guy who has ridden the RnR more times than anyone. We asked him what was the most he has done the ride in one day and he said 111. That's right one hundred and eleven times in one day. We saw him later that day and he came thru the side door entrance, so he doesn't have to go thru the queue after the first time. The CM just let him go on anytime.

Are there any CM that know him or his strory? I would love to find out more about him. I may post this story on its own thread.

This is my first attempt to post a pic. Wish me luck.
If this works, you should see the limited edition MNSSHP pin.
The ghost wearing the Mickey ears is on a spring and is 3-d.

Here's the lightup pin. First the word "Mickey's" lights up, then "Not So Scary", then "Halloween Party", then "Magic Kingdom", then the moon and bat, then the ghost and finally the stars in the background. It is really cool.

When we were there in September, there were 4 people on the Rock & Roll coaster who never got out of their seats. They just kept riding. I quessed they were trying to break a record.

It's my all time favorite ride but at my age....more than twice in a row and I am dizzy for a little while.

I don't know your age, but at mine I can't handle RnRC more than twice (well, maybe 3 times :animwink: ) in a row.

I do love it though...great soundtrack!!
