Just got back ... Rubbish

Did all 4 parks at Disney. What a load of rubbish. Nothing has literally changed since the last time i went there all those years ago. The Fantasy Land expansion?! What a load of crock.

Rides that would be out of date in the 80's are still going strong and bizarrely attracting massive crowds. The theming and landscape of the land is wonderful, but behind the vaneer or lucisous scenery lies nothing but MANICANS, plastic dummies dressed up and dross.

Apart from the fireworks at the end, Magic Kingdom really did me in. Woefull.

Epcot, love this park .... but nowadays seems a hibernation for people to consume alcohol. Although i did enjoy the small little shows around world showcase (i checked the times and watched them all). Loved Soarin', like i did 10 years ago.

Just ugh ..... criminal lack of investment. It's still amazing for first time tourists, but for repeat tourists it's becoming such a shame Disney have neglected the parks.

Decided against going back and hit a few parks outside Disney this time.

…kinda feel sorry for this report. I wonder if the OP knows he can edit his comments and/or delete.
In honesty I agree with his thoughts and avoided the new FLE and Dumbo and Mermaid completely during my recent Halloween week trip. I originally saw LM at DCA and commented on another board that I had seen better displays at department stores (back in the 50s and 60s). Also don't get the new Tangled bathroom excitement. Anyway the MK has become a hodge podge of design so add that to the crock.

Ooh ooh!! I want to get in on the "dump on the OP" party because I don't agree with his point of view!! I also want to nitpick about his spelling because it makes me feel superior!!!

Hold on while I go find some cool memes to post!!

I agree - no need to ridicule a poster due to spelling/grammatical errors. If you don't agree, just present your opposing POV - politely.

Meh, the OP is spot on. The Fantasyland Repurposed Area really is an assortment of alligators.

They got the basic design principle completely wrong. The MK is not a collection of cartoon worlds (Mermaid and Belle and Dumbo and etc). No, it is a collection of real spaces, inhabited by real humans. Adventurleand, Liberty Square, Main Street are not inhabited by cartoons. And Fantasyland isn't either. It is a mediaeval 'Bavarian' town and castle courtyard. The magic is that in this real worlds fantastic things happen. You fly, you meet happy ghosts, pirates plunder, rockets soar through space.

But in a fantasy surrounding, the fantastic isn't special, but expected. Of course elephants fly in Dumbo's world. Nothing special or magical about that. Magic is to see elephants take to the skies in a real world.

This is why New Fantasyland feels so emotionally uninvolving. It is beautifully done, they even spend lavishly. But the design is completely wrong. Everybody comes out saying a variation of the same thing: underwhelming, cold, underwhelming, uninvolving. The magic is not there and it was entirely predictable.

We left new Fantasyland quite impressed and happy for the experience, so much so we went back later the same day. I witnessed smiles, laughter and families seemingly enjoying themselves. I'm sure there were people there unhappy with the design, no argument here, but to call it rubbish? I just don't see it. My opinion is we liked it. I know there are other opinions.
