From this point, the show starts. Jimmy Kimmel opens the show telling us what's going on, and plugs his new late night show on ABC. I'm not a fan of his type of humor, so no pictures of him. Then a montage of shows plays on all five screens from ABC shows. I have a 15 second clip of that, but it's 1.5 MB, and too large to post here. Then our host comes out. Her name was Sam (notice the gender neutral name, just so they could use a man or a woman). After that, Jim Belushi, from My Wife and Kids comes on the big screen and starts carrying on a conversation with Sam. This picture is of Jim putting his shirt back on after taking it off to take of his other shirt, which he throws on the stage to Sam, notice it lying there. After that, he throws about seven more out to be thrown to the audience. Luckily, we were in the wheelchair section, and one was given to us, and one to the other wheelchair party. It wasn't very crowded.

Wow, major brain lapse, Jim Belushi was not from My Wife and Kids, he's from According to Jim, my apologies.

Anyway, Sam goes on to talk about the new shows, and in the meantime talks with other actors:

I probably should have mentioned that last picture was of Bonnie Hunt plugging her new show, "Life With Bonnie"

This is an actor from the new drama "Push Nevada." His name escapes me now, sorry.

Hey Tinkerbell, it took me about a year to convince my mom to get me mine! Keep at it!

No problem Donaldduck, I live to serve :)

Now, just a few more from my trip. Here is a pic of the tower in Italy. They've moved up since May.

That's about all I have for you guys. I do have some shots of Philharmagic, but nothing special has happened. I also have the finished Backlot Tour facade ( I posted pics in June from my May trip with the tarps over it). If anyone else has any requests for anything, I would be happy to entertain them. I love showing off my work. I hope you enjoyed them all!

By the way, I noticed Steve put my M:S pics up on the main site! Rock on!

sorry.......slightly off topic here....but I think this "Get Happy with ABC" is REALLY bad......it sounds and looks.....well hell......it is one large commerical for there fall lineup!....

Is it just me? Have they ran out of Ideas? Who the hell wants to see a what..... 30-45min commerical of fall ABC programming?..with Jimmy Kimmel no less

Poor taste on Disneys part...this does not belong in a theme park you pay big bucks to get into......Yeah...where can I line up to pay to see a 30 min ABC fall lineup promo

ok....i am done venting....:)

I agree with you somewhat DMC.

While the concept lacks a lot, the show isn't actually all that bad. And keep in mind, this wasn't meant to be a permanent attraction. It was obviously only meant to last a little while (no real work done on the stage, everything could be removed quite easily). For big ABC fans, this would be very entertaining. The montages they do are great. Plus, it does have it's comic relief. Overall, I'm glad I saw it. They were very creative about the way it was approached too. It wasn't just clip after clip. They handled it nicely. I'm sure this one will get very mixed reviews.

Oh jeeze! Those refurbs in Italy and Canada are awful! I've never seen them done that poorly before. When the redid the Doge's Palace they at least made the covering look like it, what they did with these two building (esp during the summer season) is just bad. I'm praying that they're done with them by next week or so.

As for all the pictures, thanks for posting them.

My pleasure!

You're right about the refurbishments. I'll bet half the people didn't even notice the covering on the palace before--I know it took me awhile. These just aren't as good. However, the Italy tower's been under refurbishment for at least a month, so it should be finishing up soon.

First, thanks for the pictures!

Second, I wanted to point out that it is very important that these shows do well this fall. IMO, ABC is the primary reason (aside from the GO network) that the parks have been hammered so hard financially. The investors are very worried that ABC will remain in the gutter. I actually applaud them for using the space creatively to promote their new shows. If you think about it, Disney himself used TV to promote the parks in the early years. This is the same thing but in reverse. Let us hope that ABC can support itself after this upcoming season. It still does seem rather cheesy but at least they are thinking.

Finally, I'd rather see that gaudy crap anyway because otherwise they would have left the building abandoned which would be really sad. Maybe another meet & greet?

I wonder why they couldn't revive the Superstar Television idea, only using just ABC shows. They could do a mix of past and current shows, maybe rotating in some new shows once a year or something. Mixing in the old shows would give them plenty of material for a twenty or thirty minute show. This would promote the network, but give guests an attraction that's not blatantly promoting the network.

Oh, and to get this thread kinda, sorta back on topic, I'd like to see the Backlot Tour facade if you don't mind, kevlightyear.

I Second that DisneyCP2000! That REALLY angers me! What it must look like during Reflections of Earth to see two PROMINENT World Showcase Landmarks COVERED in tarps and not lit in rim lights! Does the laser out of Canada even function during the show during these rehabs? It comes from that building?!!! DAMN I HATE TARPS! If they're up next week, Epcot Guest Services is getting a complaint from me. They were working on Italy last summer as well-DO it during the off-season! I don't pay that much $$ to go look at tarp covered buildings!
