Awsome pictures. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up! Fine holiday! Way 2 go. I bet you had to switch your memory card thinigies alot. Lol. Did you ever have time to ride? You take really good pictures!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Thank you very much Dizneydude--such kind words. My camera actually uses memory sticks, and I have 3 128MB sticks, so I didn't have to change that much (128 MB = 80-100 pics). Over the whole trip I took about 930 pictures, but I did have plenty of time to ride!

Wilson, here you are. The backlot tour facade. I don't have a before picture, so I couldn't tell you what it looked like before the rehab, sorry.

I Second that DisneyCP2000! That REALLY angers me! What it must look like during Reflections of Earth to see two PROMINENT World Showcase Landmarks COVERED in tarps and not lit in rim lights! Does the laser out of Canada even function during the show during these rehabs? It comes from that building?!!! DAMN I HATE TARPS! If they're up next week, Epcot Guest Services is getting a complaint from me. They were working on Italy last summer as well-DO it during the off-season! I don't pay that much $$ to go look at tarp covered buildings!

So you're saying that since I pay the same $ to enter the park in the off season, I deserve to see those tarps more?

Makes no sense to me.....

what would you rather see? the actual construction? or do you want them to not rehab at all so you dont have to see tarps, and then the buildings look like crap all the time. I mean what else do you want them to do. People complain that a building is in bad condition, and then during the refurb they complain about the tarps. Can you people ever be pleased?

Lastly, this is our Voices of Liberty. It started to rain after them, so while I saw the rest of the show, I didn't get pictures. American Vybe came out and sang, and later were joined back by the Voices of Liberty. At the very end, there were even sparklers. Overall, it was a very patriotic show. Well done.

Are you sure these people are the Voices of Liberty? If so, they got a lot of new people since Christmas. None of these people were in it.

Also it appears that Shockwave is an all-new cast from what I can tell except for the girl with the pierced eyebrow in picture 2. She was in Blast.

Yep, I'm sure. They have a rotating cast. Sometimes, it's different people. It's the same deal with American Vybe. Well, it might just be for when people are sick and such. It's rare that they are exactly the same people--at least it my experience.

I think you're right about the Shockwave group. . .although I don't remember the pierced eyebrow girl :) .

Weird. For 7 months Voices were the same people minus one or two. Same at Christmas. I've never seen any of those people in Voices.

The girl with the pierced eyebrow didn't have it pierced when she was with Blast, or at least she didn't have it in while performing or on break.

First off, let me apologize for my rash comments. I was kinda upset. This upcoming trip just means a lot to me and just like everyone one else, I just want my time down there to be perfect. NO ONE deserves to see those ugly things. During summer or winter. My only beef with the whole process is that this time they didn't make an effort to hide the fact that they were refurbing unlike previous times in WS where you couldn't even tell restoration was taking place because the scaffolding around was painted just like the building itself. My second issue is that the parks and the people who run them do an incredible job everyday, I just thought they could find another way of doing it. A little each night or something and then down it comes for the day. I DUNNO maybe it was stupid of me to think they could find alternate ways of refurbing buildings. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of Disney. Just like everyone else though, I want my vacation to be perfect. Plus Epcot World Showcase is a sensitive spot for me, this just tweaked a nerve. Thats why I got upset.

I am not ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE who complains. I've never made a complaint down there before, infact last trip I went out of my way to prop some excellent CM's way up! They were awesome, and no complaints about anything else. But you know what, I can be "pleased" and I will have a fantastic time down there next week because I'm NOT "YOU PEOPLE".

Ok your not one of those people. But there are some people like that, and the way your original post sounded I thought you were. But now that youve cleared it up I think your not.

i agree-disney is trying to fix these issues.disney is open 365 days a year and on every holiday-there not like those seasonal resorts up north that close down every winter and can refurb then-so what is better a building in disrepair or a tarp?-id rather see the tarp and know disney is fixing the problem-in fact i like to see as much tarps as possible-it means they are keeping the park in tip top shape

I think its great that Disney is keeping on its toes & keeping everything fresh, please don't misunderstand me. It just seems to me that they're doing a slack job of it now by not concealing anything or finding other ways of doing it. Like I said, maybe I expect too much- but one has to admit, when you only get down to FL MAYBE once every couple years, you grow tiresome of seeing them EVERY Trip. Especially in WS, thats its main draw, to view the incredible architecture. And I know that's why these are taking place, to keep it looking fantastic- but like I said maybe my expectations are a little too high...
