Just another case of a CM being a gigantic bucket of win.

Thanks so much for sharing a story I might have missed had you not posted it. People need more of these to remind them that Disney is much, much more than rides, restaurants, parades and fireworks. And to all the other countless CM's who go above and beyond for our entertainment, magical moments and making Disney what it is in our hearts.... THANKS.

Great story. I hear so much about autism and I still don't understand it. But that helped a bunch.
I don't know the first thing about it either. I have learned though that autism (often) is not one of those fashionable 'afflictions' parents buy on an industrial scale so as to avoid the reality that their child is a brat/failure/right .

Another classic WDW autism case:

Love that video. So great when they start bouncing/skipping.
This is one of those things that Disney really didn't have to do. No one would have complained if they didn't, and no one praised them that they did. Great to see these stories still popping up!

When my oldest was about 10 and going through a totally akward stage we went to 1900 Park Fare and Fairy Godmother was greating guest at the door. She saw our daughter and rushed over to her and took by the hand, she told her she would really appreciate having a picture with our girl as she reminded her of her best friend Belle. Our daughter was beaming and could not have been happier, it was one of the highlights of our trip. It's the little things that make the biggest impressions and she really made our girl feel special!

Having two kids of my own (not autistic), I have to say that this seriously re-established any hope that there is still some Disney magic around. To the cast member, I wish I knew your name. A story like that deserves to be sent to the corporate offices. This goes beyond huge. This is earth shattering. This is what Disney cast members do (or at least, supposed to do.) Thank you. *standing ovation* (even though it's just me) ;)

His name was posted in one of the comments (and he actually commented himself).

That's a real rock star! He's an example of why I go to Disney. Not the food, hotels, or the knick nacks, it's the people who create the magic bubble and moments like that. Keep up the good work.

The Jedi Master has revealed himself to us by the name of David Piggott. But he goes by many names, in different galaxies.

Also, now that we're on the subject of CM appreciation. Anybody know if Rapunzel's friend is still around? We thought she was real special. Don't want to know her name, just if she is still...hanging out with Rapunzel or is working somewhere else.
