Just a Rumor floating around...

While there are countless other worthy countries that should be represented in WS, I am just miffed that Ireland gets completely gyped in the United Kingdom pavilion.

As you can tell, that is just my Irish temper rearing it's ugly head :p!!!

I would also vote for a more permanent Africa pavilion. Personally, I loved the Millennium pavilion that they had temporarily.
Actually the Irish would be pretty p****d if they were represented in the UK pavilion. It would look like they were ruled by Britain again. Only Northern Irleand is part of the UK.

Um, IRELAND!?!?!?!?!?

And don't give me any crap about the UK, Ireland is a different country. And there are more decendants of Irish immigrants in the US than any other country.

They'll also be able to take the Guiness and Harp out of the Rose and Crown and put it in the Ireland Pavillion -- WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!!!

And what about a Puerto Rico pavillion? Oh, wait, you can just go to Kissimmee.
Busch Gardens Europe, in Williamsburg VA, has an Ireland section. Also England, Scotland, Italy, France, and Germany. But no real restaurants.

Not that I WANT this to happen (quite the contrary, actually), but has anyone else ever wondered if European Integration will result in the demolition of ALL the European pavillions, to be replaced with ONE pavilion for the European Union? This would free up 3 other pavillions to be replaced with other countries?

Like I said, I don't want this to happen and I would be upset if it did. But since the ultimate goal of the European Union seems to be a political "United States of Europe", with one President, one foreign policy, one military, etc, I wonder if it is inevitable at some point down the road?
There's a good idea. Don Rumsfeld can be put in charge of developing an "Old Europe" pavilion and a "New Europe" pavilion to replace UK, France, Germany Italy and Norway.

No, after GWB leaves office we're giving Texas back to Mexico, which already has a pavilion. GWB will replace Donald as one of the Tres Caballeros.

How about just giving us our independance back, since we were the Republic of Texas before we joined the union.

I think a new country would be Great! Just a few points: 1) It is less than 20 years since the last country (Norway) was opened. I believe it opened June "88. I know, it is just less than 20 years. 2) China is next to Norway, not Japan. 3) I doubt there is enough room between these two for another country. 4) There is plenty enough room in other locations: Between Mexico / Norway, Bridge / Germany, Canada / United Kingdom, UK / Intl. Gateway, America / Italy, Morocco / Japan. 5) No more Asian countries, we have China & Japan. 6) I agree Australia should go in AK. 7) New Countries: Something from African or South American Continents; Spain or Greece. Just my observations, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The biggest spot would be where Eqatorial Africa was to go where the refreshment outpost is now. My guess that Australia will probably go to DAK, which would make it a better fit. As for new countries, doubt that EPCOT Center (ok, I can dream, right?) will ever get the countries that are represented in DAK, which means Africa, India (Asia), and hopefully Australia. They all can be represented during the food and wine festival, but not as permanent pavillions. I remember Spain having a huge area at the food and wine festival a few years ago. Hoping that it is given a chance.

A country from South America would be a great choice, but sponsorship money isn't there. Russia would be fantastic. Spain, Israel, and Russia all had billboards at Epcot at one time or another. All three looked fantastic.

JimHillMedia.com had a story on the extra space at World Showcase and there is plenty of room to grow. But before growing, enhancing the countries that are there would make the most sense, which they seem to be doing.

It was only independent for 9 years and wanted all along to be annexed by the USA. I assume you wouldn't allow slavery this time around?

I would love to see a great quick service restaurant in Italy, but then again, could they really do this?

Quick service pastas and other Italian foods just don't seem they would be any good.

No, but a true Italian Calzone would be awesome. :slurp: They are much different then calzones you get in most pizza palces. I stayed in Gaeta, Italy for a couple months many moons ago and I used to love going into the Italian deli in town and get a calzone. Perfect snack size, not filled with Ricotta cheese like pizza places, but filled with meats and mozzerella. Pizza by the slice would be good too, though Italian or European pizza is differnet than American pizza.

The absolute worse country represented in WS IMO is Africa. I mean it is like nothing but a gateway to the next world showcased which I believe is Germany. IMO, they should take it out and extend Japan and or Germany, and maybe add a ride to the world that is extended. Thankfully AK already has a decent representation of Africa, if they didnt, then I would want them to extend WS's Africa and add some kind of attraction. I mean, its like there is no need for it if you already have a better one in the AK, just do away with it.

Was Germany the world that was suppose to get the e-ticket coaster? Or was that some other land? I remember hearing some talk about a mountain coaster or something, a little on par with the Matterhorn. I wish they would just come out of whatever was/is holding them back and just build it, that would be nice. And also that other water ride that was suppose to be build, I wish they would just build that too.

How about a grilled Panini with mozerella, prosciutto and sun dried tomatoes on crusty semolina bread. How about an olive bar with all kinds of olives take the olives a chunk of good sharp provolone cheese and a loaf of semolina bread then eat as you stroll around WS.:slurp:

Africa is a continent, not a country. Do you mean Morocco? AK represents Sub-saharan Africa, a large and diverse area that has nothing to do with
Morocco. Also, AK focuses on animals, not people and cultures.

I think he/she was probably referring to the Outpost which is not a pavillion anyway.

Nobody has mentioned Holland yet!?! That could be very interesting. And yes, Russia would get my vote as well. Such colorful architecture, I'm sure they could do wonderful things with that idea. Who knows what the future holds for our dear WS...

Oh yea, yea, continent, my bad, I knew that.:lookaroun
But no, Africa is the continent that is between china and germany and is nothing more than a walkway to germany from china or vice versa. I mean there is nothing to see or do there, there is like a shop and a small fastfood type restuarant I believe, but thats it. While all the other continents showcased have these nice buildings and or artifacts and architecture that represents the country or continent very well, Africa doesnt have anything, so its just a complete waste and a very poor representation of the continent. Thats why I say they should do away with it and extend china or germany with a nice e ticket or something. Harambe the village in Africa is already showcased better at AK so just do away with the one at epcot because it serves no use.

Why would Mexico want us back? They already have a large number of citizens from Mexico working here in Texas. They make money here, and send it back to Mexico. Mexico is happy with this arrangement right now. You wouldn't want to hurt their economy now, would you? The President could fill in very nicely in the Mexican pavilion. He is fluent in Spanish. At least that would give him something else to do rather than traveling all over the world trying to medle in foreign affairs, like some past presidents.

No this is a different time we live in today. The 13th Amendment ended slavery in Texas in 1865, the same year it ended slavery in Maryland.

I'm all for any country that would foot the bill. I wish they would have kept the Milennium Village open. Some wise person on this forum needs to start another poll on this subject. It would be interesting, if you could get enough people to vote.
