I was really expecting those skippers in the rhino scene to be scattered throughout the attraction, so I'm very grateful that's not the case.

I was expecting something similar. It seems like Disney's advertising of the changes and what was delivered are two very different things.

A friend is sending me the new script later today. I'll share it on here once I get it. I'm guessing there's a few approved jokes for each segment.

They did say some of the new jokes sound like they were never said out loud when written- but that some are also pretty good.

It's like Pirates of the Caribbean. The first half is great old school Imagineering, and the second half is lessened by the new stuff.

The African veldt scene is screaming for an Animal Kingdom joke! Something along the lines of -" Wow! Look at all the animals here. Weren't expecting such a crowd? Did you think this was Kilimanjaro Safarisin the afternoon?" Not perfect but you get where I'm headed.

It was added for the 2005 refurbishment, though it hasn't worked consistently as of late.

Are there no black people in the ride? This is what I predicted because I think Disney is just terrified of Misrepresenting or being Insensitive so they'd rather just omit entirely. Seems fairly ridiculous. You can't just come up with positive representation, you just delete everything and replace it with animals?

I'm also curious about this. Such a fun, incredibly simple effect. Especially when, as in the POV shared, the skipper says "I'd never lead you into danger" just a moment earlier. Solid comedic beat.

IMO, It really shouldn't be open during a major refurbishment like this in the first place. Just look at the former Native scene in Florida right now, tarp city. Terrible show, I'm glad TDA closed DL's JC while refurbishing it, even while having to close a bunch of other rides due to COVID restrictions.

What irks me is that it wasn't so long ago we thumbed our noses at Universal for employing such a "bad show" policy.

All the people on the ride are now on the pole, and the pole is a mixed group of individuals.

Better video of the ride I think, the boat scene is pretty great, the AA's are very fluid.
