I don't get it.A good joke going by the concession stand/canoes/bait shop would be:
"Can you smell what THE ROCK is cooking?!"
I'll see myself out.

I’d guess not since he wasn’t pictured in the official concept art for that scene. I’d assume they’d place him somewhere where there’s considerable dead space. My only hope is they don’t give him dialogue, but rather take an approach similar to the updated auction scene for Paris’ PotC, which imo was the best way to execute the change as opposed to the jarring dialogue present in the domestic auction scenes. You re probably right. Any guess where he’s going? Maybe near the dumb lost and found.

I believe so yes.Yea I’m hoping for no Dialogue as well. So is Skipper Felix the same skipper as the one on the rhino pole?
I believe so yes.
I don't dislike the new version as strongly as you seem to, but I agree that the reimagined hippo scene is weak. It's the same gag as with the old Jurassic Park ride but sanitized and gore-free (which I get since the Jungle Cruise is meant to be comedic first and foremost), but there's an odd clash of tones here. Are we supposed to be afraid or not?Another issue I have with hippo scene aside from it being aesthetically unpleasing is that it also lessens the threat of the hippos as our eyes are now drawn to the sinking boat and crates. Instead of our focus being on the water it’s now on the trash in the water which I think actually works against what they were going for. It doesn’t increase the element of “suspense.” It’s just ugly, detracts from the scene and disperses our focus.

I find most of the new scenes pretty charming, although a bit noisier than I'd like.
I knew that boat was new. My god it is sooo unnecessary.Another issue I have with hippo scene aside from it being aesthetically unpleasing is that it also lessens the threat of the hippos as our eyes are now drawn to the sinking boat and crates. “If/can you smell what The Rock is cooking’?” was The Rock’s signature phrase when he was a WWF wrestler. He frequent said it and it was in his theme song, as you can hear in that video.I know who The Rock is, I just don't know what "can you guess what the rock is cooking" is referring to. I don't think just mentioning The Rock automatically makes a joke.
The core experience of the jungle Cruise hasn’t changed. You still have the jungle (the real Star), the “humor” and the skippers. It’s just annoying that almost every time they tinker with these old attractions they take a step backward. In and of themselves the new additions are fine. They re just redundant and should have been more in line with the scenes they replaced. My biggest issues are with the hippo scene and the unnecessary removal of the statues.
Just wait until you hear the script! There's a huge emphasis on this Skipper Felix character, and a few jokes that mention Alberta. Lots of new chimp jokes as well.
Oh no

That new snake statue you're not fond of has nine new jokes. Here's some highlights (spoilers added in case some want to hear the new jokes live first)-
"Right up on the hill you'll see an ancient statue. Our experts believe it's a tribute to the jungle's greatest snake bowler."
"Here we have an ancient snake statue. A reminder that snakes are always on the ball."
"People wonder what kind of snake is depicted in that statue. I believe it's a ball python."
"Some say that orb is really heavy. I think it's pretty light."
"That snake's having a good time. Really, it's having a ball"

What was the problem with the statue, anyway? Too many monkeys for one ride? If that's the reason, I must protest. One can never have too many monkeys in a single ride. Frankly, I wish they had added more monkeys.
