Why do the Skippers not talk during the temple/cave section of the ride? Is there a reason? I saw on another forum that someone said the script called for silence during the scene. Is that true? If so, why? @marni1971 ?
It just always seemed strange how the ride goes from "joke, joke joke", to "complete silence".To preserve the ambiance and enhance the mystery of the rubber spider.
I guess it had the pay off of the eyes closed joke and the only bit of show music in the ride.It just always seemed strange how the ride goes from "joke, joke joke", to "complete silence".
Makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to answer, Martin. I appreciate it.I guess it had the pay off of the eyes closed joke and the only bit of show music in the ride.
The change of direction adds to the ride with a change of pace from fun to mystery.
I think I honestly remember when the spiel was more on the serious side for the entire ride, like they would say a warning of sorts before going through that specific scene. Didn't the jokes begin just a few short years ago?Did they used to have a speil for this part or is my memory fooling me ?
I think it might also have something to do with acoustics, and the fact that the boat PA system would sound awful in the cave.
Since you were a skipper, Ive got to ask a question. I have heard that back in the day they would do "adult Jungle Cruises" if it was late and only adults were on the boat. Basically more raunchy type of jokes. Is there any truth to this?It was silent (by script) when I was a skipper in 1993...
