Disney seems to be falling for more remake fever judging from 20,000 Leagues... Why don't they do a Journey Into Imagination movie? That would be awesome...

I definitely agree! The opening scene would surely start with Figzilla eating Nigel Channing and stomping on the Imagination Institute... "Sense that Doctor!"

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Disney isn't making the new 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. New Line Cinema is. It's being produced by Sam Raimi and Josh Donen.

Oh cool! Then it will be somewhat decent at least! :sohappy:

Edit... what I mean is.. the Orig is great. But a remake by Disney I fear would involve the cast of High School Musical... with Stitch playing the sea monster... and Raven (from Thats so Raven) would be at the helm of the Nautilus. ... lol scary no? Ah.. but it would be another Direct to DVD classic

There already is a "Jungle Cruise" movie...

It's called, "The African Queen".

Oh I'm getting so sick of this one! Maybe... maybe you could say that the Jungle Cruise is a parody of the Bogart and Hepburn classic. But other than the fact that they both feature a boat going down a river in Africa, there's really no similarity. I don't mean to single you out, there's alot of people on the board spreading this one around, but its simply not true.

The movie was a spoofed alot in cartoons and movies in the 50's, it was just part of the cultural zeitgeist. WDI drew inspiration from it, but the Jungle Cruise is certainly not the "attraction version" of The African Queen.

Don't worry. It's actually a Miramax production and has nothing to do with the Disney theme parks. It's based on Mottola's real-life experiences working at Long Island's Adventureland park. Here's a synopsis:

im usually good at getting sarcasm...but i dont know if youre kidding or not. as a long island kid whos spend many a day at adventureland, i cant possibly see them making a movie. woooo!!! we're going to ride the swiiiiings!! and then get some funnel cake!!!!!! the crappiest place on earth...on route 110 in farmingdale!!

As long as the 20,000 Leagues remake uses something similar looking to the 1954 Nautilus, I will be a happy camper. Hopefully they cast someone like Jean Reno to be the Professor and maybe a bearded Christian Bale to play Nemo...

All I know about it is that it uses "Heart of Darkness" as a template for the narrative and the most recen draft was done by Smallville writers. We really need more info :(

Why would anyone base another movie off of Heart of Darkness when Apocalypse Now got it so perfect the first time?

Now if they're remaking Apocalypse Now with Mickey as Captain Willard, Tigger as the journalist and Goofy as Colonel Kurtz... then I'd be intrigued.

Which guy from Superbad are we talking about? Jonah Hill? Seth Rogen? Either way, count me in.

The director, Greg Mottolla. Should be great.

Hah, have you seen the video of the Pulp Fiction trailer starring The Muppets?
Hilarious.
